I love this place ! My go-to here is their spaghetti and meatballs and their chicken Caesar salad. Soooo delicious and always a chill environment. I always recommend to friends when they ask where they should go to eat in the area.

It takes a long time for them to bus the tables. We had to eat off a dirty table and the table next to mine was not cleaned the hour we were there. Caesar salad was all yellow. I like green salads. The mixed salad looks better and the dressing was good.

Absolutely love the coffee here! Since I started working at a coffee shop, I’ve gotten more picky about what kind of brew I’ll sip on. I enjoyed the lovely weather through the large windows, and my classic cup of coffee was smooth and delicious. They also offer a wide variety of espresso drinks, all of which looked delicious. The latte art was also pretty fantastic as well! The only drawback is the restrooms, but that’s though at any coffee shop. I’ve driven by here a lot, but I think I may have to count this coffee spot among my new favorites!

My favorite morning coffee and bagel spot. Perfect bagels every time, delicious coffee. Friendly staff as well!

They still make mochas with cocoa powder! My four year old son and I visit Saturday mornings for my mocha, his hot chocolate with homemade whip cream, and his croissant. If we’re lucky, there’s a soccer match on TV. Service and old school charm is amazing. This place is a treasure.

I just can’t say many bad things about them. They have live music(usually jazz from what i’ve seen) and you can sit there with friends or by yourself and enjoy it. The food is made fresh there, except it seems that the baked goods come from a real professional bakery(they are excellent!). Also the cookies, Jane’s cookies, seem to be baked by someone’s mama at home — definitely not from a big commercial bakery. They are too homey and good(though not quite sweet enough). They make pretty good soups here as well. It is a nice neighborhood spot where you may see your friends and acquaintances from around town. Most of the staff is nice as well. One bad thing is the fuss they make if you want your food to go, to avoid paying tax, then eat it there. They try to give you plastic fork, knife and spoon wrapped in plastic – hey, that is a waste of money and resources. It is no skin off your nose, CT, if you let customers eat it there with real fork and the state does not make 19´¢ to lock up more people of color in prisons(which is basically what they will do). You are foolish to waste all that plastic, which goes in the land fill and hurts the planet forever, when you could give a real fork which would cost you nothing more than a few seconds more of the dishwasher’s time.

Nothing superb. Don’t waste your money, unless you really are craving for some dessert and need your coffee fix(like me). Pricey and Napoleon pastry was fine. Coffee was good, I ordered Americano. You have a choice of double or triple shot. Nothing like Starbucks Americano. If you want to study and not want to compete with the rest of the crowd at Starbucks, then come here.(We came here Friday, afternoon.)

This place is awesome, always tasty and always fast. Great for a simple breakfast and some of the best cappuccino in the east bay ! Place is packed in the mornings but they always get through the line quickly.

Pleasant study spot! The tea is a little pricey, but comes loose leaf and in a teapot, so it is multiple servings and the breakfast sandwiches are yummy. Not a ton of outlets, but nice for reading or working on problem sets. They also have live music, which is fun. All in all, not my regular spot, but great for grad school studying when I need a change.

Disclaimer: I only ever order their coffee and breakfast sandwich. With that being said, both are delicious and served all day long. I highly recommend the egg and cheese on a croissant($ 6 + tax). There’s lots of natural light, with high ceilings and lots of big windows. They have live music almost every night, and the staff is friendly. Seems that quite a lot of locals are regulars here, and it’s always a fantastic people watching location(especially if you can snag a table by one of the windows). It’s one of those places where people aren’t just silently working on their laptops, which is so nice. Their wifi signal isn’t great, and they don’t have very many outlets. Tip: keep your receipt, wifi password is at the bottom.

While old school, you can tell this local joint caters to pretty much a little bit of everything. They got WiFi for the lappers. They got pastries for the sweet-tooth-inclined. They got pour-overs for those looking for a more trendy cup of joe. Whether it’s the late night jams or daily specials that keep you coming back, it’s a wonderfully laid out space that just screams Berkeley. However, upon getting my coffee and sandwich, I’d say quality was lacking. Coffee tasted burnt and the sandwich… well, I guess my little nephew might have done a better job. Come for the chill vibes, but I wouldn’t vouch for their food.

Rude and prejudge people! Asked them wifi and told them I’m waiting for my friend so we will order when she arrives. The respond I got from employees was ‘No! You have to have receipt to get wifi password’. I said ‘I will order food with my friend, just waiting for her’ and the respond was ‘Nope! You have to order now!!‘ It’s really bad that they think everyone wants to take advantage of their wifi and not going to order anything! Poor customer relations!

This place is typically filled with people studying and working on their laptops. Decent place to study. The wifi is reliable but I should warn you — come with a fully charged laptop. Outlets are very scarce — I’ve only noticed 2 places where you can potentially plug in your laptop charger. So if you need an outlet, come early and snag a spot. I’ve been here a few times and have never been approached by a waiter to ask for my order. The food is okay. The first time I came here to study, I ordered a panini lunch special which was«meh». The pastries looked amazing but I was reluctant to order anything because I saw a lot of flies buzzing around so I didn’t want to risk it. I still study here sometimes but I just stick to ordering my pot of tea.

First time going to this relaxing café, seemed really comforting when I first walked in! I had just beat the rush, so I was able to grab a nice seat by the window. Great spot to go in there get on your laptop, drink some coffee, and just people watch aha. Egg, Ham, Cheese Croissant sandwiche was really good. Their bread is fresh and they also have Freshly Squeezed OJ that’s delish. As well as a Yogurt and granola parfait. Must try

I very much enjoyed this little corner café. Interior is spacious with high rising ceilings and the décor brings the antique look together. Love the fact that this place has live music nearly every night, still has great atmosphere in the day time. Tables can run a little smaller for large meals or large groups but nothing is stopping you from pulling another table, besides a full house. Menu isn’t too big but the coffee menu makes up for it. Servings are very decent and well priced. Would definitely stop by another time, preferably at night.

This place is nice but really inconsistent. The coffee and tea is good but some of the spaghetti I had tastes like watered down Noodles from a can. Literally some of the worst spaghetti that I’ve paid money for. The music is generally fairly nice for background studying but the lack of electrical outlets can really put a damper on your studying. If you’re an older person looking for a spot to have a long conversation, you’ll probably love this place. But if you’re actually trying to study here, this probably isn’t the best place for you.

Came here today since I always walk past it but never go in. Well, this was my 1st and last time. Once walking it, I asked the guy behind the counter about the carrot cake and he stated it was fresh(I should have known better since its refrigerated). A while after consuming cake, within 10 minutes, I began sweating and my abdominal area began to have piercing pain. I ran to the bathroom and had a Horrible case of diarrhea. Not sure about the regular food or drinks, but stay away from the desserts!

Decent little coffee shop. I have been periodically visiting this place for coffee on my way to work, and have been fairly impressed. They have decent poor over coffee. The small size coffee is certainly small, so if your in real need of a pick me up, I’d go for a medium or large. They have a delicious array of pastries to choose from that I have yet to try, and their yogurt parfaits are off the hook good! Service is so-so, but prices are reasonable. May just continue to frequent this place.

If you long for a nostalgic classic italian café, I think this fits the bill. You don’t come here looking for a quiet meeting space. You come here to have good coffee and be social, there is a buzz. I enjoyed a delicious vanilla latte, I think this has become my drink of choice lately. It was good and given the jittery-ness of my internal being I suspect it was strong. It wasn’t too loud to be heard, so it just has a nice warm vibe about it. The wifi was good. Didn’t look for outlets because I was there for social time, but many of the tables are not near a wall so I’m guessing they don’t have a ton. Parking is reasonable if you look in the neighborhood but in front you’ll have to use a parking meter and refill on the hour. They get 4 stars because it’s a classic, the warmth, and I think they still have live music from time to time.
