Carrie Jahde Drum Lessons

Carrie Jahde is an AMAZING drummer _​and_​drum teacher. Having never played an instrument before in my life (and going through a bit of stress at work), I figured — what better way to have fun than to sign up for drum lessons at age 32?
I took lessons once a week from Carrie for a year and a half, and I cannot say enough good things about her. Carrie taught me how to read drum music, and play about a zillion different rudiments and a variety of different beats. She also gave me a good introduction to musical theory and some great historical and cultural lessons on drumming. She can decipher and explain any beat, she’s easy-​going, patient (which is very important when you sometimes slack off and don’t practice as much as you should, like I did), and has a great sense of humor. Like I said at the beginning — she’s got some skills. Serious drumming skills. She’s so skilled, she has skillz with a «z.»
AND — she passes on those skills. I went from not knowing how to play the drums at all to being able to play some pretty rocking beats.
If you want to learn how to play the drums, you should take lessons with Carrie. Plain and simple.
