Our search for a wedding photographer took several interesting turns. First we met with a gentleman who — while he was very talented — didn’t seem to «get» our vision, style or interests. Then there was the woman who forgot to show up for our first appointment. When we finally met her, she talked over us, made a lot of assumptions and kept calling me Stacy(my name is Karen…). Needless to say, we couldn’t picture(pun sort of intended) either of these photographers capturing our day. Then there was Lauren. We met her at her studio, and immediately had a really good feeling. She asked a ton of questions about our plans, made no assumptions and seemed genuinely interested in our vision.(And she never called me Stacy). Most of our meetings with other photographers lasted about a half hour, but when we met with Lauren, we were there for over two hours. By the end of the meeting we were bouncing ideas for our engagement session back and forth and it was immediately clear that she«got» us and that we had found our photographer. Working with Lauren was amazing. When we did our engagement session, we knew we wanted something a little edgier than the typical barefoot-on-the-beach photos(not that there’s anything wrong with that). We wanted to do our shoot at night in San Francisco… kind of a vintage, urban feel. Old movie theaters, strip clubs, neon lights, etc. That night it happened to rain, which made the lighting and the photos super cool. By the end of it we were all soaked, but had such a great time that no one seemed to care. We knew that if this was any indication, our wedding photos would be phenomenal(…and they were). Lauren really exceeded all of our expectations for a photographer. She was great about communicating throughout the entire process, had a great attention to detail, was always on time and ready to work, and was definitely a fly on the wall for the whole event. We still wonder how she captured some of the moments she did, because they were so personal yet she was so unobtrusive. Her photojournalistic style and her unique creative vision helped to capture the feeling of our wedding day beautifully. We look forward to working with her again in the future and whole-heartedly recommend her to anyone who is looking for an amazing wedding photographer.

There aren’t enough words for me to explain how much I loved working with Lauren Cohn-Frankel on our wedding photography two years ago. I can truly say that she is in a class by herself… destined to do big things. From the very first contact and all the way until today(literally!) Lauren has been nothing short of fantastic– extremely professional, honest, responsive, flexible, fun, very easy to talk to and work with. She is still working with my husband and I, now 2YEARS after our wedding, to finish our album and has never lost any patience with us… and I say that because it has been totally and completely OUR fault that we still don’t have an album. To say we are major procrastinators would be an understatement… seriously! I think part of the issue was also that there were SOOO many incredible shots to choose from… narrowing it down was just agonizing. :) When I first spoke to Lauren via email before our wedding to get some basic info she was extremely helpful in sending me a complete«package» and pricing menu up front as I requested… something that was like pulling teeth to get with most of the other photographers we contacted. Not only that, but she was the only photographer who showed a genuine interest in me as a person and potential client… she asked where our wedding was being held, and when, and said that she would be excited to hear all about it. That, to me, showed a honest joy and enthusiasm for her craft, which I loved. As for her work, it is absolutely exquisite. Beautiful, moving, real… seeing it completely transports me right back to that day two years ago… and makes me see, hear and feel all of those moments all over again. Lauren is extremely gifted… and was a true gift for us to find. I am SO looking forward to having our gorgeous album in hand soon… and plan to work with her in the future whenever humanly possible. I hear she is now doing«lifestyle» photography(babies, families, etc) in addition to her wedding/engagement work, so working with her again during those times will be an absolute must. :)
