At last, I’ve found you. It took me 3.5 years, but at least I have 2 months to savor it: my favorite place to study. This library is small, modest, and quiet. It’s nothing like its big siblings Doe and Moffitt, and the desks and bookshelves are aged and antique-looking. But the layout is spacious, and one wall is made entirely of glass panels. Light is no stranger in the large, high ceiling study room that stole my heart while I was cramming for my physiology midterm. Lazy to make the trek to VLSB, I stumbled upon this gem. They have multiple open tables for studying, although I opted to hide behind a cubicle table so as to block my mind from distractions. But that’s just it. This library provides just the right amount of background noise(shuffling, whispered conversations, keyboard clacking, hallway chattering, sneezing) for me to stay awake and not fall asleep from the boredom of studying. At the same time, the low occupancy of the library lends to its humble silence that allows me to concentrate and actually absorb the landfills of material I need to learn. And the cherry on top is the glass paneling that separate the library from the hallway. I had to take a quick phone call, and I hesitated for a moment before deciding to leave my stuff on my desk. And I was excited to find that upon exiting the library, I could stand outside, talk on the phone, and watch my things sitting in solidarity on my desk. Who needs someone to watch your stuff when YOU can watch your stuff! Well, unless the loo is calling for you. If I were to rank my library preferences, it would be: Education Psych, Chemistry, VLSB, Engineering, Doe, and last last last place goes to Main Stacks. At the end of the day, location is the number one factor for most students, but I’d willingly hike across campus to sit inside this haven and satiate my inner nerd. Oh, and I reeaaaallly hope that all of my «concentrated» studying here yields an A on that physio midterm. I need it: c
