i’ve been here a few times. first was with a buddy of mine visiting from LA staff was good. Very attractive waitress checking in with perfect timing. always refiling water everything was perfect. but the second time wasn’t up to speed. the staff is less attentitve and when we came here again pretty much everything on the menu was already«sold out». i’m like well why dont you tell me what you do have or notify me of this when you hand out the menu and before ive made my section TWICE of what i want. especially if its a burger damnit. «M: can i have this W:oh sry we dont have anymore for tonight, M: ohhh ok, what about this, W: ohh im sry this is also out.» …etccccccc now I know its not jut the waitress’ fault for this and mostly the chefs. they need to get themselves together and check a prep what they have otherwise take it off the menu. my third time i didnt eat, just had a drink with some pals after work while they ate… seemed like they enjoyed the food but they mostly had the chicken wings since they ordered a coupe more of those appetizers. for now im gonna wait before i come back and hopefully 4th time is the charm. if not then Adiós .

Sigh. I’m a bit torn. I love the drinks here(margaritas are delic), but their veggie burger was such a let down. It was a flavorless(and cold) beet based patty that fell apart. Debatably the worst veggie burger I’ve ever had. Though I’m sure the meat options are better because a lot of people I’ve visited here with seem to love the place. In general the vegetarian food options aren’t impressive, and you always have to wait a while to get a table. I’m sad to say that won’t be coming back for the food.

I’ve been here quite a handful of times, and tried 2⁄3 of their burgers. All I can say is that they’ve all been delicious. My two favorites are probably the Napa burger and the fig burger, both have very unique flavors and definitely taste like upscale burgers. Be sure to come for happy hour because appetizers are cheap and beer is $ 2 off, my friends and I enjoy the truffle cheese fries and lollipop corn dogs in particular. I just wish they didn’t raise their happy hour prices :(. Unfortunately, they do not take reservations and the wait can be about 30 – 40 minutes during the busy hours. Aside from that service is usually pretty good, though today our server spilled beer on two of my friends clothes and didn’t even notice.

YUM! I’m a fan. Stumbled across this place randomly after other late night meal shenanigans didn’t fall through. I’m glad my boyfriend and I found Eureka! Upon post meal Unilocaling, I see that this place is a chain! I’m impressed because usually chain places are whatevs. Came in at around 10:30 pm and was immediately seated. I am impressed by the happy hour as it was even available on a Saturday night(9pm-closing). Some items on the HH menuu included, truffle fries, corn dog poppers, riblets, fried chicken, brushetta, all tacos… and a handful of other things I cant remember. Non-rotating craft beer is also on the list. Even though we only ordered one thing from the HH menu, it was still great to see our options for next time. Eureka! has an extensive list of beer, whiskey and other spirits. I’m and IPA girl, and I definitely saw more than 5 to choose from. I ordered some IPA called Blitzen IIIPA(11% **swoon**). Foodwise we ordered a fig marmalade burger(fig marmalade, arugula, melted goat cheese, toasted bun), truffle fries, and a watermelon salad(watermelon, arugula, kale, feta, quinoa, and walnuts). The food came out in a pretty timely manner and the portions were huge! My boyfriend was still thinking about the burger the next day! The staff is super friendly, though the server that took over our table was a little inattentive. But it’s okay, it was late and I’m sure everyone was just over working their night shifts on a Saturday night. Overall this was a great experience and we are glad we stumbled across this place and will definitely be back. PS: This place is LOUD! so if you want a quiet meal maybe look elsewhere :)

I finally got around to trying Eureka after hearing about it in San Diego. I came in with two friends for dinner around 630 on a Saturday night and the wait was 30 minutes. Luckily we got seats at the bar and ordered dinner from there instead. The bartenders were super nice and accommodating. I ordered the Napa Burger($ 12) which came with a side of fries. The burger comes with a roasted tomato, pancetta, Havarti cheese, arugula and a pesto sauce. It was a great tasting and good sized burger. The meat was moist and flavorful. However I felt like my fries were the butt end of the batch cause the pieces were short and small. I liked the atmosphere and décor of the place. All the servers and food runners were super nice and I would definitely come back.

Fantastic customer service and delicious burgers on a Saturday night! Had the Fresno Fig Burger with sweet potato fries. My friend loved the fries more than I did, they’re dusted with cinnamon then drizzled with honey. The jumbo onion rings are great and thickly sliced. They have lots of beer on tap and sports playing on at least three TVs. Recommended!

I’ve been here 3 times, and all of my visits have been extremely pleasant! The first time I came because my uncle and aunt flew in pretty late, and they didn’t have dinner yet, and this was the only place open at 10pm. It was still bustling with people and I ordered the fig burger. I’m not usually a fig person, but I was feeling a little adventurous so I went for it! What a good decision!!! The fig gave the burger a slightly sweet taste and complemented the juicy patty very well. The fries were also super addicting, and we ordered the nachos, which were beyond delicious! There were so many toppings in it and the sauce was super interesting! Slightly sweet, contrasting the saltiness of everything else. The last two times I ordered the chicken sliders. THEYARESOGOOD!!! The bread is slightly biscuit like, and there’s a layer of mashed potatoes and then the fried chicken topped off with some coleslaw. The mashed potatoes are glorious-so light and fluffy and buttery. The chicken is fried to perfection; there’s a nice crispy layer on the outside and the meat is juicy and tender. I’m very particular with my cole slaw and the one in this slider was so good! It wasn’t like the KFC kind that’s creamy and soggy. The sauce of the coleslaw was slightly sour but it was refreshing and had a nice kick to it. Now that I know these sliders exist, I’m not sure if I can order anything else here.

Located on Center and in the middle of two parking garages, Eureka is one of the best late night restaurants in Berkeley. It’s a nice chill and usually not overly busy where there is no room. I love the way their windows open up too and you can see the street from inside — makes you feel quite hipster. Excellent burgers, excellent prices during happy hour too. I recommend the Original Eureka and Bison Burger. A lot of it is customizable with additional toppings as well. Their fries are also some of my favorite I’ve ever had. Try their crispy shrimp tacos, truffle cheese fries, and corn dogs(get them especially during happy hour!)

The word used to describe finding something great, fantastic, awesome could not be more suitable for a place like this. The food tastes great and the service is fast and friendly. I’ve come here before but haven’t written a review until now. So here it is. I ordered the kale salad which was amazing except for maybe the large chunks of garlic. Aside from that the vinaigrette was the perfect mixture with the kale and cranberries. Not too sweet. The walnuts gave the added crunch. But I think the true highlight of the meal had to be the white fish tacos. Normally I reserve tacos for a Mexican joint down in San Diego but they definitely were worth the try. The mango salsa was the perfect addition on top of the fish and corn tortilla. Best of all its $ 6 for 2 during happy hour. If you were looking for a place to watch sports and have some great food, this is the place for you.

My #1 advice: COMEHUNGRY #2 would be go during happy hour if possible, which is 2−6pm daily and after 9pm Sundays-Thursdays Truffle fries are a must! That truffle cheese sauce on the crispy fries… so so good. Portions are HUGE and could be a meal in itself, so share with a friend or a few. Only $ 5 during happy hour! It’s hard to go wrong with any of the burgers, but my favorites are the Napa Burger and the Jalapeño Egg Burger. Sometimes I order the burger«Naked»(no buns, substituted with a small bed of arugula), either in an attempt to convince myself that I’m still being sort of healthy or because I know I’ll be too full for more carbs after the truffle fries. No matter which burger you get, the meat is always perfectly seasoned and cooked to medium rare like I request(which is the only way to eat a good burger, imo), and comes with… even more fries. Note: The meat is JUICY. So much so that if you’re a bit of a slow eater, you may have a problem with the bottom bun getting soggy. I don’t really blame Eureka for this problem because I think the bun to meat ratio when biting into their burgers is good, but it’s something to keep in mind. Pair your meal with a beer or wine on the Happy Hour menu, and you’re good to go. Never disappointed by this place!

The vibe of this new place in Berkeley is pretty chill & modern with its wood-based décor ! A spot I can see a lot of people hanging out in for happy hour and a night to catchup with friends over the different beers and drinks this place has to offer. I came here for lunch and ordered the Fig Burger, the boyfriend ordering the Napa Burger. I enjoyed the hints of sweetness with each bite of the Fig Burger, but we didn’t think there was anything special about the Napa Burger. The size of the burger was smaller compared to a typical In & Out burger. The normal fries were also just … normal — again nothing special. I did however enjoy my upgraded side of cinnamon honey sweet potato fries !! They were pretty delectable with a perfect blend of sweet and savory. Definitely recommend upgrading a normal side of fries to this option, or even the onion rings because they look huge and crunchy ! One of the reasons why I knocked off a star was the apparent slow service. I noticed another party was assisted by my server although I was sat down first. No one really came by to fill up our water, and half the time I couldn’t even find my server when looking around the place. It took a while to get our food and a to-go box in the end. I thought the slow service was due to a lot of people dining in, but my boyfriend pointed out the abundance of workers, who didn’t really look around to see if a customer needed any assistance. Chill place Im sure at night, I guess mediocre-ish food depending on what you get, pretty slow service, but I don’t know if that’s because the place is more new or …

I came here with my boyfriend and we ordered an Eureka burger, a bison burger, and lollipop corn dogs. The burgers were well executed but nothing mind blowing. My favorite definitely was the lollipop corn dogs! Crunchy on the outside but savory/juicy on the inside with a slight sweet flavor. We came at around 3PM on a weekday so it was only us and three other tables. As a result, we were able to enjoy the really hip environment and the servers were very attentive. This is a great casual date place!

If there was any one advice I could give to anyone about Eureka! It would be to order the cheese on the side of their Cheesy Truffle Fries. Honestly, if I could just eat a block of truffle by itself I would but it’s pretty much golden on their fries. We ordered during happy hour so $ 5 fries made us exceptionally happy when they’re normally $ 8. On to the rest! Osso Buco riblets has been deemed«The Meat Lovers Dream» but I’m afraid to admit that I didn’t find the sauce tasteful. It was tart and spicy, not my kind of thing and fat to meat ratio was more like 3:1 which didn’t settle too well with my stomach. They have this pretty sweet 2 for $ 6 tacos so I ordered two shrimp tacos that tasted A-OK. I ate only one of the two and packed the second one away along with the Osso Buco Riblets. The atmosphere is great and I’m pretty sure the drink selections are wicked but I’d have to say I’d only come back if Eureka! was an option with a poor latter.

Another one of my favorite places to hang out in Berkeley! The atmosphere: I usually come here for happy hours or dinner. It can get fairly crowded for dinner, but I’ve always been able to get a table for a small group for happy hour. Special shout out to the service here – all the waiters and waitresses are super friendly! I usually don’t have to wait too long for the drinks here and while during busy hours, the food might take a long time to come, I can always tell the food is freshly made. It’s not too noisy, so it’s easy to have a conversation, and if you get here early enough, you can probably get a table for a group. Food/Drinks: The veggie beat burger was fantastic – it’s made up of a housemade red beet and kidney bean patty with pickles, tomatoes, red onions, arugula, and lemon vinaigrette and comes with a side of signature handcut fries. Usually veggies burgers end up being dry or boring, but this burger was great! My friend got the jalapeño egg burger and really liked it as well. The fries are well-made and I would come here during happy hours and get a side of the fries as well. The drinks here are pretty good as well(and actually stronger than I would have thought). They have a fair share of beers and cocktails. They have a really cool beer flight I would check out if you’re here for drinks! Recommendations: Any of the burgers, the beer flights, and the mint mojito.

Digging the vibe of this place! Loved the Eureka theme and how highlights are done with the exclamation point! The servers lived up to the theme and were just as enthusiastic! Okay you get the(exclamation) point. Great for date night and groups for splitting appetizers. And a haven for burger lovers. Everything on the menu looked so tasty it made it so hard to decide! We went with the napa burger and chicken saltimbocca. The Napa burger was delish they didn’t skimp on the extras and the chicken saltimbocca was a tad salty but great for carb watchers.

What an experience!!! If you are not hungry or only mildly hungry I would not recommend this place. It is only worth it if you do the complete experience start-to-finish from appetizers all the way to deserts, especially with the wait times. We stumbled across this gem on our way home from work… we were wary as the place was packed on a Tuesday evening and the wait was 30 – 40 minutes. We took a seat at the bar(along the wall) and poured over a few menus and had the luxury of bumping right into the manager, Walter! What a lovely person, words cannot express our thanks! They have a wide wide assortment of drinks and we picked Walters brain for a bit. He was kind enough to allow us to taste our narrowed down choices prior to ordering! He knows his drinks and our choices were fantastic with our entire meal. By the time we finally decided on the nights course of food. we were being summoned for our table. Once seated it took longer than necessary for the waitress to acknowledge us, but we placed our order all at once when we were acknowledged and things went smoothly from there. I am pretty sure they hire college students so although friendly enough once you get their attention. they aren’t generally too attentive. We ordered everything as-is as we often do the first time through. to see how the chef and business intended the flavors to be. we wouldn’t change much about the way they serve food and I cannot wait to explore the menu further! Starters — Truffle Cheese Fries and Mussels Main Course — Bison Burger w/Honey Cinnamon sweet potato fries & Jalapeño Egg Burger w/onion rings Dessert — Butterscotch Rum Pudding & Americans Apple Crisp Truffle Cheese Fries — mouth-watering and perfectly seasoned, ask for more cheese the little dollop they give you is not enough for the entire plate of fries they provide. Pesto sauce is great and fresh too. Mussels — be warned they take quite a long time to make, but they are more than worth the wait… who doesn’t love bacon… and love the jalapeño kick! Bison Burger — of course… is a bit more game tasting then the standard burgers, but rich in flavor and pizazz. step outside your culinary adventure box and try it Jalapeño Egg Burger — a little heavy on the chipotle sauce and not enough jalapenos to justify the name, but I would order this again with a couple adjustments of my own Honey Cinnamon Sweet Potato Fries — yum! We thought it might be a bit too much all together and not compliment the burgers. but they were surprisingly good and subtle enough to compliment the meal rather than overpower it. Onion Rings — are REAL! lovingly fried to perfection. and seasoned just right… not even a huge fan of the dish in general. but loved these especially with the pesto dipping sauce! Butterscotch Rum Pudding — this… THIS my Unilocal cohorts is what life is all about. when you first dip that spoon into this delightfully arranged cup of heaven. you will feel what I felt. That all is right with the world. *LAUGHS* Yes, it is THAT good. The crunch on the top I could do without along with the wilted mint leaf, but the cloud of flavor that melts in your mouth with every bite of this dessert… I cannot wait for my next round. Americans Apple Crisp — is lacking entirely. needs a lot of work. The apple pieces were almost dried out. and the crisp/crumble was lacking some serious flavor. I felt like we got the batch from the bottom of the pan or something… It is a crisp. so we weren’t expecting the nice gooey filling you get inside an apple pie, but chewing on the sahara desert was not expected either. the dishes only saving grace was the ice cream that you could use to moisten each bite. I would love to see them do a chocolate and avocado mousse desert. I feel like they could supremely land that dish or. hand made ice creams with unique flavors and a couple staples. Love that they have a handful of televisions to watch a few games while waiting at the bar, but wish they were slightly bigger. I really feel like they are too big for the location they are in, they need more tables and a larger bar seating area. The happy hour options look fabulous, varying from day-to-day and so we have to go back and try more of the menu!

Eureka has been in my bookmarks for awhile now. I usually go to Jupiter when I’m in Berkeley but I decided to change it up. I went with a few other friends for their late happy hour which is from 9-close. There were a lot of people but we were able to get a seat. I really enjoyed the overall look of Eureka. Really hip and modern and I like that they have tv’s. I could see myself watching a game here. We just came for beers and appetizers so this is solely based on that. I had two beers which were the scrimshaw and orange wheat. Nice and light, just how I like my beer. These beers were only $ 4 which is a score. For the appetizers we got the truffle fries and the steamed mussels. I really liked the fries and the cheese sauce. Super good. I just found that halfway through the fries got hard and it wasn’t that tasty anymore. The mussels were tasty and I liked the broth. But the mussels didn’t seem all that fresh. They were a little too fishy and gritty. The flavors were there but it’s hard to get past the grittiness. The prices are a little pricey. I don’t think I would ever want to pay full price for the appetizers. Service was nice. I didn’t get our waitresses name but she was on point and helpful. Although, the minute we were seated she came and asked if we were ready to order. It’s a pet peeve of mine when waiters don’t give you a few minutes before coming at you. Overall, a good place for happy hour and strictly happy hour. I am curious about their burgers though. I’ll for sure be back soon.

Came here last night with a group of ten. Originally, we were going to Jupiter… but we found out it was a divebar with NO TVs. Uhhhh… okay? We wanted to watch the Warriors game so Jupiter was a no-go. When the first four of us arrived, they needed some time to clean up a table for our party. We went to the bar to have a beer and watch the game. The bartender was pretty cool, gave us some suggestions of beers similar to what we like. I tend to go for lagers and more recently have obtained an interest for pale ales. I forgot the name of the beer that the bartender recommended. He said it was a bit lighter than the 1500 Dry-Hopped Pale Ale. I remember it having the word«Tahoe» in it haha. My friend got a type of Hef, her boyfriend got some dark beer that tasted like black coffee, and my boyfriend got the Metropolis(a lager). We ordered a Hop Scotch later on in the night. another type of pale ale. A bit stronger than my first beer. Others ordered moscow mules and orange wheat beer. Food. We ordered truffle cheese fries($ 8) for appetizer. Instantly fell in love with the truffle cheese dipping sauce! I ordered the Napa Burger($ 11.50) and my boyfriend got the Bone Marrow Burger($ 16.50). Other people ordered stuff like the Jalapeño Egg Burger($ 12), Cowboy Burger($ 12), tacos($ 9), Golden Ale Mussels($ 13), nachos($ 10.50). They did mess up on one of our friend’s order… they took so long that her boyfriend canceled the order completely. I would dock a star for that but I just loved this restaurant so much. Plentiful TVs. Awesome, modern architecture/décor/interior. Lots of staff to flag down to fulfill our needs. Perfect for big groups. Succulent, juicy burgers. Surprisingly, the bone marrow burger was good too! My Napa burger was so cheesy, juiccyyyy, filing, cooked to perfection! I wanted my fries to be crispy and the waitress was nice enough to get me a whole new batch(she let me keep the old fries too!) at no extra cost. Street parking is available but there is also a parking garage a few steps away. Will most definitely come back.

The chicken sliders. My god. They look amazing, and they taste even better. Spoiler: They use mashed potatoes inside the slider and it takes the whole thing to the next level. The only thing keeping Eureka from 5 stars for me is that the fries just weren’t that great. I don’t really care though, because I’d be more than happy to come back every day for those sliders. Maybe even twice per.

Let me start off my saying that my friend used to manage this restaurant and I’ve been meaning to try it out! So glad that I did — here’s why! I came her last night, Saturday night, which also happened to be Halloween night! The place was super busy and the majority of the staff and customers were in the Halloween spirit — which was to be expected in Berkeley! We arrived there around 6pm and told it is it was around a 30 minute wait(party of 6). We had a seat and looked at the menu meanwhile. The menu was simple and straight to the point, which I liked! The décor inside is very modern and pretty much spotless clean, they have a full bar, patio outside, main dining area, TVs everywhere, and yes the bathrooms were clean. Our sever was Adam and he did a great job all evening! He was very quick about taking orders, explaining the food items & what sides came with what dishes, he even gave out which ones were his personal favorite which he took his advice on the desert portion. Everything was amazing! The appetizers, burgers, drinks, salads, and desert were good. One thing that can use small improvement was the desert and bread on our burgers. The desert had an almost burnt taste to it and the burger buns were dry enough that they crumbled when I bit into it. Definitely check this place out! So happy that I did and will be coming back here whenever I am In the mood for a burger in the Berkeley area. Parking can get tricky here but there is a parking garage right across the street from Berkeley city college which is next to restaurant.

Tres bon endroit. La happy hour est extremement efficace, avec les bieres(deja pas cheres a $ 6 !!) a moins 2 $ et pareil pour pas mal de plats(frites a $ 4). La carte est assez large, nombreux choix de bieres, coxktails et quelques vins !
