Time: 2:58pm/75°F sunny Purpose: Was in marin county after a long ride got a message from a client from past talks. Hit the San Rafael/Richmond bridge. Got lost nearby so pull over and realize this cool park. Set-up: About 4 – 5 park benches and a BBQ pit with big boulder of rocks. Back of park has a trailpath for walks don’t know where it leads to didn’t walk it. Grass are nicely trim very green, no graffiti can be seen anywhere. Cleanliness: A+ Punch Lines: Quiet neighborhood, located in the inner Albany area, school. No stop light intersection only with stop signs(look both ways). Tradeoffs: Bring your picnic basket or BBQ plan to spend a day here. Secluded area nobody will bother you. Final Thoughts: Great small park for kids and pets. Some of the best parks are the ones you found just by getting lost. It’s a public park neighborhood is a working class with kids interact with other kids. Make sure to burn the public grill for at 10mins kills off the bacterias.

This park is a hidden gem in North Berkeley. I only happened to run into it(quite literally) as I was jogging between the Berkeley Rose Garden and El Cerrito. I later brought other friends here, as I found it quite charming. Although there is only one bench and picnic area, there are multiple rocks for climbing and exploring. There is one urn at the base of the park, and a few scattered urns in the neighborhoods around the Great Stone Face Park. Unlike Indian Rock, there is no spectacular view of the Bay. That’s alright, though, because the fun is in the climb! The rock may be smaller than the one at Indian Rock, but the journey to the top is a bit more challenging. There is no staircase to guide you up — you choose your own path. Once you reach the top, there is a little bit of a view of the Bay through some trees. The rest is just rooftops and fiery sunsets. The air seems to be nicer up there, too. On your way out of the park, take the Indian Trail. It’s a rocky path through two houses that leads you to the main street, The Alameda. Indian Trail is one of my favorite pedestrian pathways in all of Berkeley, and believe me when I say I’ve been on nearly all of them. ;)

A nice little park with only one bench but a ton of shade and rocks to sit and relax. There’s a huge rock in the center and some urns which represent… insert bs explanation here. Seems like a good place for dogs who don’t need a huge amount of running space.
