What a great store! If you are looking for beautiful furniture that is one-of-a-kind, visit Hana. Susan hand picks these pieces herself and has exceptional taste. We recently purchased a lovely tea chest (cha tansu) that we are using as a buffet in our dining room — we have gotten so many compliments. And I love that the piece is so well crafted and yet was very affordable. Well worth the visit.

Absolute delight to visit this place.
This is a small store, but it’s filled with the most beautiful pieces of Japanese antique from Edo, Meiji, & Taisho era. Everything is handpicked by the owner, Susan, who makes business trips to Japan a couple of times a year.
Susan has not only great taste in Japanese antiques but also extensive knowledge on the subjects. Her pieces appear to be in excellent conditions, but she is also very straightforward about any non-original details or repairs done to them before you make any decisions. The prices are surprisingly reasonable, especially compared to other antique dealers in the Bay Area. She loves every piece she sells, and she wants to find them homes where owners love them as much as she does.
Highly recommended!
