They have parking!!! This place is like the olden days when you would get great customer service one on one conversations with a real person about the things that are important in life — like getting new front teeth. This isn’t a huge corporation that marks you down as a number — this place sits you down and looks at your teeth, makes sketches with real colored pencils and talks with you about what a great job they are going to do. I’ll write back when I get my new tooth :)

My dentist referred me to LDL Designs to make my crown. I was a little concerned because the affected tooth is front & center in my mouth, so every time I talk or smile, people will see it… so it had better look realistic. My expectations were high. Dennis made the porcelain crown for me, and it matches the rest of my teeth really well. He was meticulous in making sure the coloring was just right! It took about 3 visits for everything to get finalized because he said my tooth color was kind of unusual. I think normally it should take only 2 visits(the initial visit to determine the color & appearance of the tooth, then a 2nd visit to double-check that the crown works & matches) After Dennis finalized the crown & got the«OK» from me, the crown was promptly delivered to my dentist, who cemented it in for me. They have their own parking lot, which(in this part of Berkeley) is a huge perk. My only complaint is about the size of the crown… it is a little larger than the corresponding(natural) tooth on the other side, so it looks a little weird to me. But it’s so slight that probably no one else would notice unless I told them. I’m not sure if the size mismatch is LDL’s doing or my dentist’s. Maybe there was no way to make it smaller, given the size of my tooth nubbin. In hindsight, I should’ve looked more carefully during the final visit with Dennis. But It’s too late now, since the crown is cemented in for the next decade or two. In summary: Dennis did an excellent job at making my crown look realistic. However, when trying on the crown, look REALLY carefully to make sure you’re absolutely OK with the way it looks before you let your dentist cement it in.
