I’ve been incredibly impressed with all my dealings with McCutcheon Construction. Michael and Jan, the owners, are generous with their time and very connected and supportive in the community. I’ve seen a lot of their work and it is extremely beautiful and «high end.» I would recommend them without reservation.

While they may have been good in the past, I had a very bad experience with McCutcheon recently, and would not recommend them to anyone.
McCutcheon has experienced significant employee turnover in the past few months. All of the members working on my design/​build project left the organization very quickly, and without much notice. This stalled my entire project for months, and ultimately, we had to end the project since we had to go back to the drawing board… literally. When I complained to McCutcheon, all I was asked to do was pay my final invoices and no response was given for weeks.
It appears that McCutcheon has been very unresponsive to emails, calls, and general requests, and cannot keep up with their existing clients. Avoid.

They came highly recommended from a friend and we did not know what to expect from a contractor; it’s safe to say we were surprised and can confidently say our experience was beyond all expectations and typical service levels. They were kind and patient, talking us through all the options and even going into other areas of detail that wouldn’t benefit them (I.e explaining long term items to keep an eye out for). Their work was error free, their rates competitive and fair, and their team polite and professional. What else can you ask for?

Michael McCutcheon literally asked such perfect questions that I had to stop and totally review a project that I’d put before him. As a property manager whose done at least one 9,000 renovation I tend to know my way around contractors and architects. Michael’s expertise has shined through (and I haven’t even hired him!). I wouldn’t have thought to answer the questions he asked; those alone have taken the project in a safer, more professional direction. If this is what he does without even being hired on I’m sold!

What a professional company!
Everyone has a nightmare story about dealing with contractors but we were amazed as to how knowledgeable and professional everyone was at McCutcheon’s, beginning with Michael at the helm and continuing with Dan Hano and Robert.
Our project was one of rebuilding our decrepit decks. After several discussions on options, plans were drawn, permits were obtained and the project was completed with meticulous care and detail. Robert went above and beyond by taking care of incidentals like hanging new light fixtures in difficult to get to places!
Now that we found them we are thinking of re-​doing our bathroom and kitchen!
No need to look elsewhere. We highly recommend them.
