I put off getting my wisdom teeth out for almost 20 years, yep, I’m that person. Medical stuff scares the hell out of me! Well, the time had come this past week, to at least get the one out that was infected. It was a must-do. I could not put it off any longer. So, I had all 3 of my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday by Dr. Mobati. I showed up, Valium in my system, and still didn’t want to do the IV sedation. Dr. Mobati and his team were so nice and he said he’d do whatever I felt comfortable with. At first I thought, I’ll just get the one bothering me out, but I went ahead and got all of them out(because it was so easy and he was so fast and confident). He was so nice and so comforting. One of his assistants even held my hand as they were doing the shots in my mouth. I was out of there in about an hour. If I would’ve known it would have been this easy, I would’ve done it years ago. But, I am so glad I held out for a genuinely nice and caring oral surgeon. If you are scared of doing the IV sedation, the gas is the way to go. It’s painless. Today, I am a little sore, took some Advil, still eating soup and ice cream, but I feel great. Actually I feel much better than I did before the extractions, with the infected tooth. It was much more painful!

The Short: Dr. Mobati is a great surgeon with a nice staff and practice that are both genuine and experts at what they do. Especially Dr. Mobati’s knife work. If you need oral surgery Dr. Mobati is a great surgeon to speak with for a consult. The Longer: Dr. Mobati removed three of my wisdom teeth and per request performed a coronectomy on one of my lowers. I am little past the regular age for removal and the common belief is the surgery gets more and more painful to recover from with age. That was not the case for me. I probably could have started eating pretty regular foods again within 3 – 5 days however I still babied myself choosing to continue my liquid diet for days after. The surgery was started promptly upon arrival and only took about an hour. Post surgery approximately two weeks later I bit down on a piece of chocolate only to have a popping/cracking sound on one side of my head. To the uneducated like me it felt as if I had just split a tooth or fractured my jaw. Dr. Mobati responded quickly to my emergency call to the office wondering if I would need to be seen immediately or not. I was given the comfort I needed for the evening and asked to arrive at the office the next day as early as possible for investigation. X-Rays came back negative of any fractures in the teeth or jaw. Happily physical oral examination didn’t reveal anything either. I still have mild constant pain in the region and limited jaw movement however no evidence of a problem. Dr. Mobati did something I hadn’t experienced in awhile. He offered genuine concern over my well being and is following up. My experience with doctors for the last 10 years have felt extremely impersonal and that unless I were spewing blood I had no reason to be in their office. This is priceless in my opinion and a dying trait of medical professionals. Of course this is not the case with all medical professionals, I am speaking solely for myself and my opinion is based on my experiences alone.

Dr. Mobati is the best surgeon dentist ever! I am almost 40 and just had my all 4 wisdoms removed. The surgery was only one hour, when I wake up I had no pain. In two days I was able to eat hard foods. No pain or major inflammation after. My experience was well beyond my expectations.
