How can anyone go wrong with a super cozy coffee shop like this? First of all, where can you find sweet and awesome staff around Berkeley campus? These people give you a personal touch and have always been very accommodating to students and people who visit once or regularly. They have wide selection of sandwiches, pastries, iced drinks ad smoothies. Wi-fi is available and you’ll notice how students love getting their quiet coffee break here! Place is absolutely clean and welcoming! I’m a big fan and I would come back here whenever I’m in this wonderful city!

Friendly staff, wide selection of food, and quick turnaround. Also seems like a decent place to study, with plenty of seats and people on their laptops, but I have never actually come here to study. Definitely good for your breakfast run, especially because service is quick, it’s cheap, and there’s a lot of great reviews on breakfast bagels. I got the Baja breakfast bagel. Egg, mushroom, tomatoes, and cheese between a bagel of your choice.

Family owned where they remember your name this place is what all other big coffee shops are lacking. Great prices and you can get to know the owners I love it!

I had the father earth sandwich and really enjoyed it. The roast beef they use tastes better than the lunchmeat I was expecting and the soft, yet crunchy bread held the rest of the ingredients in well.

I’ve been looking for another place to get my breakfast sandwich cravings fulfilled, and I found one! I’m VERY picky about breakfast, especially eggs, so when I say I enjoyed an egg dish I mean it. I had the Berkeley Breakfast Sandwich and and iced coffee, and they were both perfect. He bagel was perfectly toasted, the sausage was cut up link sausage(which is my favorite kind of breakfast sausage), and the eggs were flavored very very well, and didn’t have the super«eggy» taste that usually turns me off from eating eggs. The iced coffee is so well flavored that I ended up drinking it black, with only a small splash of half and half. * Oh, and the wifi is very fast, if you’re planning on doing work here *

This place is our go to place if we’re ever hungry and want a quick solution. Their sandwiches are delicious and made quickly. The best two are the Father Earth and the Hot Link. Every time we recommend it to someone who hasn’t had it before, they fall in love. This place has decent prices, as well.

My go-to coffee stop before heading to my AM classes. The owners know my usual order and are always friendly and welcoming to everyone that comes in. Quick service and reasonable prices to boot.

So, the owners here are extremely sweet and attentive. I go here every morning for breakfast, their produce and bagels are always so fresh– everything is always delicious especially their coffee. Definitely one of the best coffee spots for coffee and food in the area.

After spending several hours here for the first time to study, I’m in love and upgrading my 4 stars to 5 stars! — My soy latte was great(as always) — My albacore tuna salad sandwich was also great! Every sandwich I’ve had here serves as a perfect example of how a really simple sandwich can be made really well to taste amazing — Fairly quiet, which served as the perfect studying atmosphere — Wi-Fi was reliable during my entire 5 hour visit — In this time, I observed EVERY customer that walked in being greeted by the owners in the friendliest way. Now if only they were open late… but then I’d probably live here.

Quiet, cozy, and yummy drinks! I ordered a white mocha(3.25) and it was pretty good. A little too foamy but still good! Also a great place to study! Steady wifi, plenty of outlets, but CAUTIONITGETSHOTINHERE!

This place is wonderful! Definitely a hidden gem. Fast wifi, plenty of outlets, solid sandwiches, and good service. My go-to breakfast sandwich is the mediterranean — olives, egg, sun-dried tomato, mushroom, and cheese on warm, toasted bagel for ~$ 4. But here’s the cherry on top: their Vietnamese iced coffee — creamy, sweet, caffeinated heaven. I live for this drink.

I absolutely love this place! I work around the corner so not only is it very convenient but the sandwiches they make here are super yummy! I go here at least 2 – 4 times a week for breakfast/lunch. The owners are very friendly and they know my usual orders by heart(breakfast and lunch). My sandwiches are always customized to my liking so I’m impressed that they always know what I want and what I don’t want on my sandwiches. Although there’s only one woman who makes the sandwiches, my food always comes out quickly even when the place is packed. I’ve tried everything from their breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches and coffee. Everything tastes so good and they have a large selection at great prices! If I need to get some work done, this café is the place to be. Very quiet and free Wi-Fi. All in all the place gets 5 stars for convenience, great service and great food!

This place is textbook definition of a hidden gem. The friend, who’s a loyal regular, took me here for the first time to get some hardcore, wild studying done. The mom-and-pop duo instantly called out«Do you want the usual?» to her. And I was hooked. Hell yeah A+ service. And order the usual we did. A turkey and avocado sandwich for under $ 7. Took a bite and heard the most glorious crunch before sinking my teeth into the soft pillowy interior of Dutch Crunch bread. You should be experiencing sweet sweet pain on the roof of your mouth. That’s when you know that it’s some high quality toasty and sharp Dutch Crunch. Hell yeah A+ bread. Okay, finally after taking way too long gushing about bread and possibly weirding my friend out, we put our nerd glasses on and took out the textbooks. And I discovered something that was almost as good as the bread. Fast, consistent wi-fi that doesn’t short out every 5 minutes. Hell yeah A+ wifi. This place hits that rarely achieved trifecta of great quality bread, wifi, and service that hardly any café achieves. Pipeline, I’ve fallen hard for you. I’d study you and your beautiful turkey and avocado sandwich all day long. Hell yeah A+++

4 stars because it seemed like a really nice place with good ambience and service, but I didn’t actually stick around. It made my day better though, so I’m definitely going back and will update this review next time!

I come here almost every other day because I literally live right across from it. But even with the convenience factor aside, I think Pipeline is a pretty decent café that I’d recommend to anyone. They offer a wide variety of food and drinks to choose from, including the usual coffee and tea but also amazing smoothies, breakfast sandwiches, salads, bagels, pastries, chips, fresh fruit, etc. I have tried at least one thing from each category they offer and I can say that everything is pretty solid here, no matter what you get. I highly recommend their smoothies — I was never really big on smoothies until I tried theirs. My favorites are the Kona Sunset and the Jetson. Their coffee is also of pretty good quality, and I believe they use Fair Trade certified beans. The Vietnamese Coffee is really good, and so is their Thai Iced Tea. My favorite food to get here is their breakfast sandwiches — they are way more filling than just a snack but less than a whole meal, and I think it’s a good value for the price. You can choose from sourdough, rye or bagel for your bread. Why I love this place so much is that it’s a perfect study spot — there is ample sunlight, there aren’t that many tables so it never gets too crowded or noisy, the tables are large and almost all of them are situated near a power outlet, they never play music so it’s nice for concentrating. They close pretty early, but they recently extended their hours. Lastly I gotta say my favorite thing about this place is the owners. They are super friendly and nice, and if you become a regular they will greet you by name and joke around with you. Their daughters who sometimes hang around at the café are totally adorable as well. :)

Came here for a smoothie — overpriced, diluted, watery, not worth it. 3.95 for some very artificial-tasting mango /pineapple flavoring in a small cup. I could make a better smoothie than this in my blender at home. The lady at the counter was not friendly. Flies in the entryway. Won’t be back.

A lovely family establishment near UC Berkeley. Their coffee is fresh as ever, and has a bold taste. They have an array of pasteries, I happened to enjoy a blueberry croissant. They also have plenty of lunch(sandwich) options made ready to order. I also like the fresh smoothies they have, it will definitely be on my list of things to try. Make sure to give this place a try.

it’s really 2.5 stars but I’ll give them the benefit. I work close by and when I need some quick food I head over to pipeline. The only thing I’ve ever ordered there is their bagels. Their bagels with cream cheese are $ 2.25. I wanted to use my card but there was a $ 3 minimum. So I added avocado to it(85 cents) to make it over $ 3. It tasted decent. nothing special. but cheap and it filled me up. thats why it gets 2.5 cuz its not that great but its not terrible. atmosphere: its clean and theres wifi. theres some small tables to work on and they have shades cuz their windows are their walls. the café gets SUPER stuffy though. I don’t think I could do work in there. chill, soft music playing.

Yessss. A small place with free wifi(password is wakemeup51) no one knows about? Perfect study spot. I also got a sunset smoothie which was actually very good and affordable($ 5). Just found my new study spot!

I loved this place when it was Sonoma Café, but it’s still pretty nifty. It’s really clean and there’s a ton of seats with a good amount of outlets. I also really like all of the windows. Only problem is that they’re a bit short on their pastry selection. I really wanted a nice chocolate chip cookie when I came in, but they only had peanut butter and oatmeal raisin. I settled for a chocolate-dipped biscotti instead. Prices are reasonable with my biscotti and iced coffee coming out to $ 4.41. Overall, this is a nice place to come study if the libraries are too quiet for you, but you don’t want it too loud.
