Even though the type of printing Richard does was not appropriate for my project he very politely pointed me to a studio that specializes in gicleé printing, and told me why it would likely be the best choice for my project.

Richard is a true professional. I called him Monday at 4pm with a nearly impossible task – to complete a custom letterpress project for me (250 business cards) by Wednesday at 4pm. Although his turnaround time is usually a month for letterpress projects, he filled my request by Wednesday morning, a full 6 hours earlier than I had anticipated. And he still quoted and charged me 25% less than another Bay Area letterpress, who couldn’t even guarantee that they would finish the project on time.
He maintains incredible standards of communication throughout and exercises excellent judgment. We communicated constantly over those two days on phone and via email. I didn’t have time to go to his studio for a press check, so he emailed me pictures of the first run instead. I needed the business cards to be divided into two sets and delivered to different locations, which Richard was very understanding and obliging about.
Richard is meticulous, thorough, and patient – like I said, a true professional.
