Solace Trio

Josh, Tim, and Joey of Solace Trio are wonderful! They played our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and during dinner at our reception. We used two of their originals in our ceremony, Fair Maiden and Even Though. Both songs move me to tears every time I hear them. They are professional, incredibly talented, a pleasure to work with, and are just cool guys.

We had Solace Trio play at our wedding in Tiburon this past weekend, and we had dozens of guests tell us it was not only their favorite part about our wedding, but we were also told many times that Solace Trio is the best band that people ever heard play at a wedding. These guys will elevate your wedding to a whole new level if you hire them. They are super cool, incredibly easy to work with, very accommodating with special requests, and they made our wedding experience truly unique and magical. They shouldn’t even be considered in the category of «wedding bands», because they are so much better than that. People told us Solace Trio made them cry at our wedding because their music was so beautiful. The great thing about these guys is that they can play a lot of alternative music, as well, not just your typical Pachelbel’s Canon in D. They learned several Taj Mahal songs to play at our ceremony, based off of our requests, in addition to songs by Paul Simon, Florence & the Machine, Bön Iver, Mumford & Sons, just to name a few. Hiring Solace Trio is the best decision you will make when planning your wedding.

We were so excited for Solace Trio to play at our wedding, but even though we booked them 7 months before the wedding, they cancelled on us with two months to go. Very disappointing and also left us with a sub-​par band we had to book at the last minute.
They were easy to work with and offered to learn songs as well as travel to our out of the way venue. Perhaps if they had requested a contract and a deposit in advance they would have had a more difficult time backing out.

Solace Trio performed at my wedding last weekend and they were wonderful. They play BEAUTIFULLY and added a whole new element to our wedding that I don’t think was expected. They played an original piece for our bridal party and Cannon in D as I walked down the aisle-​not a dry eye in the house!
The songs in their repertoire range from oldies to new songs (The Beatles to Bön Iver? Hello, awesome) and we were so happy they could be a part of our day and truly enhance our ceremony.

They are absolutely fantastic! We had them perform at our wedding in June at the Ritz in San Francisco. They played while people were arriving, during the arrival of the bridal party and bride, and then at the cocktail party afterwards.
I received 10 compliments about the Solace Trio before I had even grabbed my first drink. They are classy, exceptional performers, and extremely easy to work with.
As you can imagine, the wedding planning process is extremely stressful, and they were as easy as you could make it — we made a few recommendations, and they took care of everything else.
I would recommend them for any wedding or special event.

My husband and I were thrilled having the Solace Trio play at our Berkeley wedding last May. Aside from being totally professional and experienced musicians that handled all the confusing logistics of putting a wedding music ceremony together, they play BEAUTIFULLY! Everyone at our wedding, from our older relatives to our friends were super impressed. They have a great repertoire from classical to arrangements of pop music like The Beach Boys and Bob Marley. When I think about how incredible that day was, I can’t help but to hear Tim, Josh and Joey playing in my mind.

I love the Solace Trio. From the moment I heard them play at their home in Berkeley, I knew I was so lucky to have found them for our wedding ceremony.
The sound of a violin and 2 acoustic guitars is absolutely beautiful, I almost wish I was a guest at my own wedding so I could have heard all the songs being played pre-​ceremony.

The Solace Trio played at our wedding last year in the Anderson Valley. With the truck loads of details we were juggling, we asked them to take care of the music for the ceremony. They did so beautifully, with very little guidance. They shared their selections with us for the processional and recessional and we couldn’t have been happier. They were perfect melodies that brought a unique, fresh and warm vibe to the event. In fact, we were singing their rendition of a Manu Chau tune all throughout our honeymoon!
Josh, Joe and Tim form a unique trio of 2 guitars and a violin. Each with varying backgrounds and training, they can bring anything from classical to reggae to folk to any celebration.
They express a spirit in their music that is hard to find — they are close friends, and share a love of playing music and playing together. They are super professional, super sweet, and fun. We highly recommend them for any event!

²⁄₃ of the trio came and played my graduation party. They played some excellent «good vibes» background music at first, letting the party goers get comfy, then kicked in to the more lively jams as the party got going. They kept on playing and, as the party started to abate, they graced us all with an impromptu set of feel good farewell songs. There is no better band to accompany any social event.

I cannot say enough good things about the Solace Trio. I recently had them perform at my wedding ceremony and they were absolutely amazing. The ceremony took place in a great outdoor location (Windmill Tulip gardens in GGP) and the Solace Trio really added wonderful style to our wedding. I’d give them 10 stars if I could– here are some specifics why:
–most importantly, Beautiful music. A violin and two acoustic guitars. They also provided the sound equipment for their setup. Absolutely professional and they looked well-​practiced. They can let you hear a sample of their music before you book them.
–Of all the wedding vendors, Tim from Solace Trio was the easiest and coolest to work with.
–THey play the classic wedding stuff, but they also can play some other stuff if you want. We loved hearing «No Woman No Cry» as we walked down the aisle.
