Thai Thai is not really a store — for now, at least, it’s mostly an upright refrigerator case in the Epicurious Garden food court, supplied by one very energetic Thai woman named Noot(I think) who makes a wide variety of authentic Thai foodstuffs daily for takeaway.(She also works at Soop, which is where you pay for your meals. Soop, Noot meet Noot, Soop.) The mix of dishes and drinks changes every day — I’ve had the curry puffs(sweet, yummy, totally authentic) and the Khao Ka Moo(spiced roast pork on rice), which was like a fancy, trim-off-all-the-fat version of the rough-and-tumble dish you’d buy on the streets of Bangkok. For Berkeley people, though, that’s probably what they want! I’ve seen some rather unusual dishes there, and it looks very presentable as well. It seems that Noot is trying to make the dishes authentically spiced, so try it before you dump the chilies on.

New«to — go» Thai food at the Epicurious Gardens. Everything is made fresh daily from organic ingredients and pre-packaged, so it’s a quick meal. The curry puffs are so good. Completely addictive. They feature a rotating menu. Some of the best dishes are ones you couldn’t find in a Thai restaraunt such as the Rang Sit«Boat Noodle» soup, and Kow Mun Gai(steamed chicken over rice). Be warned — if it says it’s spicy… they mean it. And they use REAL Thai basil. Definite plus. Prices are reasonable for organic, homemeade cuisine.
