Trelawny is a wonderful vocal coach. She has taught both of my nieces, and my daughter was so inspired that she now takes lessons from Trelawny. Trelawny is patient and gentle, and still manages to impart a lot of learning.

Flat out, the best voice coach I ever worked with. She really listens. She can hear problems so well that her corrections help you get better quickly but also make it very clear for you. Love her! I can’t recommend her enough!!!

I have worked with Trelawny as a colleague and as a vocal student and I have been very pleased with the results. As a vocal student I learned a lot about the basics of correct singing and breathing. I also gained confidence that is essential to singing. As a colleague I have worked with her in bands and as a accompanist for the Berkeley High Scholl Choir and I was impressed with the progress and results of the choir in a short about of time. Her communication skills make it easy to make progress and get things done. Her performance and leadership qualities are at a pro level.

She’s amazing! I learned exactly what I wanted to learn. My objective was to learn how to sing with my middle voice(some people call it mixed voice). All my previous directors taught me the classical approach and they taught me well(all chest or head). But I wanted to learn how to sing in a Gospel or Pop environment and I needed the power without straining. Her lessons also included harmony excersizes and of course scales — lots and lots of helpful scales. The scales helped me identify where the chest voice ends, where the middle voices starts and ends and where the head voice begins. I love the idea that the middle voice blends the two to produce a quality of sound I’ve never been able to achieve on my own. She is very personable and eager to teach the student with his or her strengths. She understands the complex nature between the singer and his or her craft — the intimate relationship with music as an art form. She does this without being intrusive. Not only is she educated with music and voice(I think she holds a BA and a Masters degree in this field), she also sings professionally. I hope to sing with her again. — Vanessa
