I have to give them credit — it’s rare that restaurants give so much thought to decent vegetable dishes. From the asparagus salad with olives and feta to the vegetable«charcuterie,» the veggies made the meal. I could have eaten the beluga lentils and goat cheese all day! And the caponata was really delicious. That said, the Thai meatballs and the pork belly were also good. :) But I was happy to eat at a place that made vegetables an important and interesting part of the meal! Oh and the peach mule was dangerously good :)

I just had the best crab cake sandwich of my life. So fresh, so delicious, so cute inside. Worth checking out.

I was on vacation with the family and we found this really cute place. The atmosphere was great and we were able to sit out in the back porch. The menu looked amazing with a lot of «fusion» items on the menu. However that is where it all stopped. We ordered the empanadas and that those were amazing. Then we ordered the crab bisque soup for my mom and specifically asked if it was salty and our waitress said no. When it came out it was super salty. My mom has high blood pressure so she couldn’t eat it. Then we asked for the salmon quesadilla. Big mistake. What came out was what looked like a rolled up taquito. We were busy eating the empanada and by the time we got to the salmon it was super soggy and the salmon tasted like rubber. I had such high hopes for this place. The only good thing was our waitress and the atmosphere. I will not be returning.

You can’t go wrong here. It’s evident that the food is freshly prepared. I ordered three small plates. The empanada stuffed with pull pork was expertly seasoned with a crispy shell. The eggplant was stacked like a Napoleon with a tangy ricotta filling complimented with a delicately robust Italian tomato sauce, and the smoked salmon taco didn’t disappoint as well. The service was efficient and caring. They offer a variety of wines by the glass. The price is very attractive.

Place is great, service GREAT! Rosa Sweet, good Waitress &FAST! However the food was exceptional in some ways but SoSo in others! Don’t get Mac & Cheese especially with pulled pork! The Mac is SO mediocre, actually just Velvetta from box! Pulled pork just thrown on top, very little flavor no Barbq sauce, I asked for some and that was so nasty do not get their barbecue sauce, if that’s what it is, it was orange and taste like some kind of Curie season and mustard! Horrible! The crab cake was great although they sit everything atop of some form of salad!?! That was, as was the Pork Belly app, and that wasn’t good, just fried fat, and I LOVEBACON!!! But Not this!!! The burger was ok, nothing to write home about, two party’s, melted cheese on both, toasted bun, maybe an 7 or 8 out of 10! The soup however was our favorite, I should have stopped there!!! Cute quint town & place just had a few quiets I didn’t like!!!

Great food, farm to table. Service was great and they also carried local beer which is a huge plus. Only bad thing is portions were small, other then that it was great

My husband and I visited Berlin on a short two-day stay to visit the wild ponies at Assateague. Both nights we ate at the Blacksmith. The first night we were lucky enough to stumble upon the Monday night taco special. We tried both the rock fish and pulled pork tacos. The rock fish was fried – crispy but not greasy – and the pulled pork was slow-cooked to perfection. The medley of pickled veggies, house sauce and fresh herbs made for a divine experience. We topped them off with the Assateague Ass Moscow Mule and a draft beer from a local brewery. Normally we are bitter about spending $ 15 – 20 on drinks, but these were well worth the price. We loved our meal so much we decided to come back the second night and it turned out to be burger night! We ordered a regular burger, with added bacon of course, and a special burger they were only making that night. My husband really loves a good burger and he declared them the best burgers he had ever had. If we ever come back to Berlin, we will definitely be stopping back by the Blacksmith! Pro-tip: Dinner at the Blacksmith, dessert and coffee at the Atlantic hotel down the street.

A delightful patio to enjoy the unique menu. Beers from the nearby breweries is a definite plus as well.

Perfect. Just what I needed. Cranky and tired from a long drive and a ferry ride, I am now sitting in a locals’ bar, having enjoyed a delicious jumbo shrimp curry and a glass of Riesling. Friendly natives who are fun and interesting, some of the folks involved in the town renovation. Great bar, comfy décor, friendly bar tender, delish food. And a recommendation for breakfast. What could be better! And no TV! They’ve won my heart!

I am a food snob. That is, I expect high quality food, food that’s adequately described on the menu, and good service. Came here for a quick bite one night – shared the bahn mi and the salmon quesadilla. Okay folks. Quesadilla is flat. It ain’t round, rolled up, and crispy. That would be a taquito. It was also two tiny bites for $ 11. I could have made this at home for much less than that. Bahn mi was good, but I’m always skeptical of bahn mi that isn’t Vietnamese. This had scrapple, which was okay, but the slaw was odd and mayonnaise-y. Despite these two downers, there were two stellar aspects to our meal: 1. Potato fries – thick cut, baked, delicious. 2. Extra whipped cream that came out with our mediocre flourless chocolate cake. Made the cake delicious as in it masked it. Not sure I’ll be back. Had high expectations for this place but didn’t quite deliver. Maybe I’ll have to go back and eat more things to find out.

First of a lifetime expierience this evening concerning negative issues encountered while dining at this establishment which I shared on social media. Upon leaving owner confronted us in an extremely defensive manner completely disregarding my request to contact me at a latter date as I did not want to make my evening worse then it already was. Upon returning home I have discovered they were able to remove my honest complaints about my expierince from facebook, something I did not even know was possible. I have reached out several times since to discuss my very negative expierience this evening and hopefully have a feeling of resolution, but at this point I still await a reply. I will update accordingly if and when I hear back from this restaurant regarding what was for me the singularly worst dining expierience I have had in the entirity of my 59 years.

It may have been a better experience but the bartender was anything but friendly, drinks took forever and it felt like he was doing us a favor. Aside from that… the food was very good! I ordered the Banh Mi and it was great; the menu did claim the pork was smoked but I’m pretty sure it was braised. That didn’t matter, it was still very flavorful, the vegetables had the perfect amount of brine from a quick pickling and the scrapple was crisp. I would stop back in… maybe the bartender was having a bad day and maybe next time he won’t be working.

Wonderfully locally sourced, tasty with vegan options in a great cozy/funky space. Amanda, the NoCal bartender, was amazing with her charm, concoctions and stories. This charming nugget on the outskirts of ghastly OC will beckon is back. Turns out that Planet X rises south of the border– just cooler.

A bit of a quirky restaurant, located just off of the main street. It has a great selection of local food and local beer. Having said that if you aren’t interested in a sandwich or a burger, there isn’t a lot of other items on the menu to choose from. We both ordered the macaroni and cheese. I had mine was pulled pork, while my wife had hers with a salad. Macaroni and cheese was great, the pulled pork was fine, and the salad was okay. The service was great!

Last weekend my boyfriend and I went in for some beers and decided to try the crabcake platter. Let me say, it was Hands Down, the Very Best Plate of food we have ever tasted in Any restaurant Ever!!! Can’t wait to try the crunchy eggplant(they were out of it that night). Ok… So we went back tonight & I got the crispy eggplant!!! &OMG… Yep! Soooooo delicious :-) It’s an app, but it served well as my entrée :-) Scotty got the shrimp & grits & declares that to be absolutely delicious as well. Then we had the drunken pumpkin bundt cake for dessert(made by Robin at Baked, across the street) & can I tell you that it was bangin too!!! This place is officially my Favorite restaurant Ever!!! :-)

Just stopped in Blacksmith for an early dinner tonight, before heading home to the Washington DC area, and we really enjoyed it! One of the first things that struck us was the neat atmosphere in what was otherwise a square room! The music, acoustics, lighting and décor created a really nice vibe, which was somehow engaging and relaxing and stimulating all at once! It also somehow managed to be informal, while also feeling quite classy. We had wonderful service from our waitress(name?) who took time to give us a few suggestions and was very attentive and friendly. And then, of course, the food was excellent! You definitely could taste the freshness and the care that went into each item which, for us, started with a hummus dish we were quite pleasantly surprised by. Having read a Unilocal review about the restaurant and their mac & cheese choices, we inquired about it and ended up getting a side of it with some bacon. This is one thing where I would have wished it had been served differently! Three generous strips of bacon were tossed on top of the mac & cheese, though crumbled bacon would have made more sense to me, at least. LOL It was quite tasty, though! We also had a wonderful veggieburger, which tasted like the vegetables were falling out of it! Very mouthwatering. Lastly, we got the Cobb salad which had a nice variety of flavors, though the pickled avocado somehow did not seem right. Sadly, we just didn’t eat it because we probably like fresh avocado so much! Perhaps we should have given it a chance. The lump crab meat more than made up for it, though. The beers we each tried from the local Burley brewery were very good as well. Overall, a really nice experience with good flavors, nice atmosphere, great service, and no hassles. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

went there with a sizeable party, including some small kids. I understand they are not marketing towards families, but they should have at least one high chair in the place. service was, great selection of local beers. Everything had a good flavor, but they missed the mark on how long they cooked our pork belly appetizer and my mahi mahi. it is really hard to overcook pork belly, but it came out dry. shrimp and grits were awesome all around though.

Great Décor, but you can’t eat furniture! Service was slower than slow and was not so busy. I think they must have messed up our order. I really don’t know how you can mess up a steak that much! Über small portions too, I needed to go home for a bowl of cereal afterwards! Expensive for what it is and for me the value is not there. Decent drinks were the best part of the time spent here. Would not recommend.
