I love the burgers and homemade mayo. A wonderful place to visit. The wait staff is friendly and the food is absolutely fantastic!!! My husband and I enjoy going to Berlin for something a bit different and just love eating here!

We visited this tiny restaurant today when we visited Berlin in Amish Country. It was fantastic and served the country style cooking I would expect from an Amish community. Evidently, on Saturdays, they have a special for 2 sirloin steaks, 2 sides each and bread and butter for $ 29. The steaks were perfect! My mashed potatoes and gravy and noodles were great as well, so were my wife’s roasted parsley red potatoes. We usually never spring for dessert, but today we got an apple dumpling ala mode. So good!!! So yeah, in the end, we got two steak dinners, a meal for my daughter and a dessert for less than $ 40. Can’t beat that.

I tried this place twice. The staff were friendly and the food was your average frozen frier food. The butter is the ultra pasteurized prepackaged minis which I normally wouldn’t think much about, but considering this is the heart of Amish country with cows everywhere and cheese and butter sold at every other store on the street, I definitely expected better. The main issue is that they don’t take cards, cash only! Everyone else on the street accepts cards so this was unexpected and I had to accept a $ 3.50ATM fee.

This was my second visit to B&W and I was not disappointed. They pride them self on home cooking and do a fantastic job in the heart of Amish country. The home made bread with apple butter is an amazing precursor to the meal to come. I ordered the hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes(the half order) and it was the perfect serving. The roast beef was well cooked and the mashed potatoes were very fluffy. I finished off my meal with a slice of fresh peach pie, it’s a cold pie with a cool whip like topping. It was all delicious and I would love to go back whenever I’m in the area. Just a quick tip, the line may seem long, but it moves very fast because it’s a large restaurant. We waited about 15 minutes for our table and it was worth it!

Took a day-trip down to Amish Country over the holidays and returned to a place we had been before and knew the food was going to be good. Boyd & Wurthmann is a great spot for Amish comfort food served with a smile and cooked from scratch every time. We sampled several dishes at our table… broasted chicken, hot roast beef sandwich with gravy and several pies for dessert. The chicken was juicy and tender, served with mashed potatoes and white gravy along with corn. The dish was also accompanied by warm slices of thick cut bread… which you could«enhance» with either an apple-butter spread or a peanut-butter type spread… both delicious. The open-faced roast beef sandwich was huge and very filling. Served over bread and topped with mashed potatoes and loads of brown gravy, it really hit the spot on a cold day. Being my birthday, it was hard to resist a slice of pie to cap off the meal. My S.I.L. got the apple pie(served warm, which she loved) and I had the chocolate pie. My pie was served on a chilled plate made with a homemade flaky crust and chocolate shavings on the whipped cream. Yum yum!!! Great meal, very reasonable prices and a fun atmosphere. Worth a try for sure.

True small-town diner experience. Very crowded when we walked in around noon but lucked out and got a table almost right away. Diner food which is to be expected. I got the Hot Sandwich which was roast beef on bread with mashed potatoes and gravy. Good old down-home, stick-to-your-ribs meal and very tasty. No room for pie, but looks like they had an extensive list of slices available.

Came around 2 pm and the place was still hopping. This diner, that has expanded into a full fledged restaurant space, serves a good mix of food you’d find at your run of the mill community picnic, and breakfast diner fare. I ordered the hamburger steak(two hamburger patties stacked on top of one another) with potato salad and corn. I was expecting a hamburger that had onions, peppers, bread, and egg mixed in the patty. But after, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked not having all that extra flavor, because I could taste the beef. The potato salad had shredded potatoes instead of cubed or mashed, was quite zingy and went well with the beef. Thankfully it was only a small portion, so I was able to eat it all. The corn, well, tasted of corn and was delicious. Great service, and a lively atmosphere. Definitely a good choice for grub if you’re passing through.
