So unashamedly I will admit I’m a Gilmore Girls fan. When I’m in Berlin, I pretend like I’m in Stars Hollow. And that means I need to find my java. On What Grounds? is a local café with breakfast all day, sweets, and Intelligentsia Pour overs… for less than $ 3!!! They are also like Luke’s-sorry for another Gilmore Girls analogy, but they make delicious food here. And even make their own bagels! Amazing find. Thanks for letting me pretend I am in Stars Hollow!

My wife and I were in Berlin on Halloween day, just walking around the main street and seen the town. We had stopped across the street and picked up a couple of cupcakes, and then came across and got a couple of coffees to enjoy them with. My wife just had a regular coffee, while I had a flat white. The owners were quite friendly, and the atmosphere was quite nice and inviting. And they did a reasonable job on my flat white as well. My wife particularly liked the fact that it was attached to a wine shop.

Nice little Coffee shop. I had the light roasted drip Coffee. Featuring Intelligentsia Coffee is what brought me in. Next time I will try some of the attractive Desserts.

Small and unassuming, warm and along-the-way, On What Grounds? stands out as a simple way to get good coffee in a town that — at times — tries achingly to be pretentious. I got the double espresso, and found it to be everything I wanted. It was strong, heady, and had a great texture that stayed. Much like myself. The shop itself, more importantly, was a little close in quarters, but remained uncluttered — smelling of good coffee and drinks rather than any hippie patchouli. On top of all this, the prices were quite fair across the board. On What Grounds? is here for the roasting, not for the boasting. I would go back.

Killer green apple smoothie with caramel. Really solid bagel with egg and cheese. Nice ambiance. Cool town.

So the lady behind the counter told me their Coffee Fraps were better than Starbucks or anyone else and I took the challenge. I was happily proven wrong. By far the best coffee frap I’ve ever had. Wish we had a place like this in our area, but it certainly is something to look forward to the next time we visit Berlin. This is the second time we have visited this place and everything is 5 stars. That includes the staff. Highly recommended !!

Stopped in this week for an afternoon cup of joe. Server went out of her way to make a fresh pot since it had been sitting for a while. Server was excited to answer questions and talk to us. Coffee was good also. I’ll be stopping back next time we’re downtown Berlin.

They provide free wifi. Comfortable environment. A wine bar is connected next door for the amateur sommelier within all of us.

This small coffee shop offers tasty coffee, smoothies, and snacks in the friendliest little town, ever! After ordering you can kick back on their couch and chat with the wonderful locals.

Very good coffee… nice clean atmosphere… and I really like the fact that they open at 600 am for those of us that do have to work early. Nice robust coffee

I have been here a few times now so I feel like I am qualified to write a review. The place is quaint and comfortable to sit around and drink coffee, read or chat with people. It also has a really comprehensive menu of coffees and coffee drinks, several pastries and treats, biscotti, chocolate, cold drinks and even breakfast sandwiches(served all day!). The breakfast sandwiches are pretty good too.(I hope eventually they expand their food menu or have some more options for the breakfast sandwiches but what they have now is fine!) Friendly service… and for those from around the area, the owner of this place was previously the owner of the Coffee Bean in the Salisbury mall, so he knows what he’s doing. Definitely recommend.

Stopped in today for the first time. Pour over coffee was excellent. They also offer fresh brewed, aeropress, lattes and your usual coffee shop offerings. Baked goods and breakfast sandwiches available. The space is small. clean and comfortable. A couple couches and some bar seats. Should be a great addition to Main Street Berlin.
