Excellent fresh food. Every ingredient comes from within New Mexico. Also has a lot of vegetarian options.

I love this big location. It is on my way home from work, so I frequent this location quite often as it is not far off the beaten path on my daily commute. What you will find is friendly, knowledgeable staff who are passionate about the food that Flying Star Café offers! You will also find delicious items on the menu, they are little more pricey than I’d like; however, you need to keep in mind that you are getting a large quantity of food and the quality is unmatched. Don’t even get me started on the desserts!!! Everything I have tried has been top notch. I love their Rio Grande Mud Pie, Cheesecakes, and layer cakes — and my ultimate favorite is their Chocolate Eclairs that will last you days and days!

I used to eat here more frequently, until the menu changed. There are some pretty good dishes and deserts, but the quality is not always there. Today, I ordered an orange juice($ 3.75) and had it taken off my order when I noticed that it was being poured from a gallon container. It used to be made fresh(and is still advertised as such), but I was told that they no longer do that. I also I got the blueberry pancakes. There were very few blueberries in the pancakes, I should have taken a picture.

Stopped kids night, cashier was rude when we asked about, never get a receipt, for the price of the food more is expected. I previously gave this place 4 stars ohh well.

We stopped in for dinner on a visit to Albuquerque. Nice menu with variety. The chicken Caesar was average – dressing and greens excellent, but the chicken was not fresh off the grill. Fish and chips was very good but cole slaw was bland. Vegan chocolate cake looked better than it tasted. Iced tea was amazing. Customer service was average but the atmosphere made up for it. Overall, a lovely diner with good food and a peaceful vibe.

This is a magnificent diner. The menu is imaginative, the veggies are always fresh, no canned stuff. They have a chicken burger that’s to die for and beef burgers are made any way you like. Wonderful breakfast’s are served all day and not just the run-of-the-mill diner breakfast fare. Also, if you like dessert, you can stand at the dessert counter and drool. Their prices are very reasonable.

Slightly over priced for barely above mediocre food. Customer service is not the best. They messed up my order and then charged me for the additional $ 3. They had no care about me as a customer. I will not recommend or return.

Hung out here briefly for a refreshing beverage between AD&PL’s ceremony & reception. J and I shared a large lemonade– despite being advertised as fresh-squeezed, it tasted like it was from concentrate. Good balance between tart and sweet though. The menu had some tasty looking offerings, that we unfortunately did not have time to try. Next time!

Think diner-like comfort food, no table service and prices to match a fine expensive restaurant. Just way over priced for what you get. $ 15 for a bowl of soup and a slice of cake!

This location seems a little behind some of the others I’ve been to. There was plenty of open tables, but quite a few of them needed to be bussed, which was a turn off. The food was good, but nearly cold when it got to us. We saw it sitting on the counter waiting to be brought to us for several minutes. I was at the point of going up and getting it myself when they finally brought it over. It’s not like they were busy either, there were maybe five other tables with people total, and they all already had their food! Maybe the staff need a little more training? Anyway, it’s not bad, but it’s not the best Flying Star either.

Everything was so delicious! Tried the garden harvest, the Californian, and the chicken and couscous. Ate here while staying at the holiday inn and was so grateful for this oasis among all the fast food here in Bernalillo. Service was a bit inconsistent, but was still relieved and happy to find some fresh, healthy, veg friendly food in the area!

This place never ceases to amaze me. Their authentic New Mexican cuisine mixed with fine cuisine that you would see at $ 40 a plate restaurants combine to make fantastic food! Their pies and dessert are among the best I’ve ever tasted. I crave their fruit tarts on a weekly basis, but as I don’t live in Albuquerque anymore I no longer can acquire on a weekly basis. My bank account appreciates me though as a meal here can get pretty pricey quickly with the side of deliciousness here and a slice of sweet awesomeness there, etc.

I frequently get take out from here and they are one of the best places to get a salad. The Flying Star is not a cheap option, do not expect to get out of here for under $ 15pp. I love that they served breakfast all day long. Most of the food is decent but highly toned down. This Flying Star has a better dessert selection than a couple of the others. The desserts are probably some of the best in the city although they aren’t spectacular. I love their pies. The cakes and cookies are just ok.

I love Flying Star… The Bernalillo location, however, is not the same as the others I have frequented over the years. It’s almost cold. The quality of service and food is not in line with the other locations. Prices at all locations are high, but you are paying for food and atmosphere. Prices are listed and if you don’t want to pay that much I suggest you find a more suitable place for your pocketbook.

LOVED this place! Huge menu, friendly & fast service, great big dining room plus outdoor patio. But most of all, awesome food. Had the Chinese salad with chicken, and friend had the fish tacos. Both were excellent. And the desserts — OMG! Try the Naranja — a chocolate mousse cake with a hint of orange; pecan pie was great too. Not a cheap place, but not crazy expensive either.

Ordered two petite burger tonight and when they were served one side of the meat had been burned, We took a couple of bites and called the server over, she apologized for the mistake and offer to replace the meal. We didn’t want another so she gave us a gift card for the amount of our purchaser. The point is the cook staff should have never sent that out and put the server in that position. Shame on them!

I was a long time fan of Flying Star, but as the years have passed, the prices have soared while the portions shrunk. Food quality is generally very good, but there have been issues. On my last visit to this location our order(a salad and a sandwich) didn’t arrive after 25 min. while others who arrived after us received their meals. There were only a few tables, so I knew there was a problem. I asked the manager who apologized and said it was next up but kept being«overlooked» by the cooks — one of whom had called in sick. When you pay high prices for a meal the service better be spot on. Unfortunately, Flying Star misses the mark.

Wow. this may be one of the worst chain restaurants ever. Now, just for full disclosure, I’m really not a fan of the Flying Star because their satellite chain restaurant in Santa Fe is even more expensive for no reason… With that said, I was on a job today where I had to be in the general area of this chain at an early morning time and me and my driver were starving, so we decided to go to the Flying Star to get a simple breakfast… What a financial nightmare… We both ordered the breakfast sandwich, one with sausage, and the other with bacon(mine), and two orange juices… 2 items, ones we could have gone to McDonalds for and it would have been about 8 bucks. At The Flying Star Café, we ended up being charged $ 30 dollars!!!(tip included)… After the very visible sticker shock we both expressed upon hearing the price, I figured that this breakfast sandwich must be the best breakfast sandwich ever… No… The biscuit was entirely too dense, the eggs(and there must have been three on mine) were slightly undercooked, the bacon was minimal at best… the entire presentation came with a sauce that looked and tasted bitter, and there was almost no cheese… You know… It’s hard to call a restaurant out on bad food sometimes, but when me and my companion both decided that we could have gotten a Crossanwich at Burger King or a McDonalds Egg McMuffin for a third of the price and would have been happier, well, something is wrong. And $ 5 for a small glass of orange juice? I almost think that I could have flown to Florida for my fresh squeezed breakfast drink for the price we paid… Oh yea, I’d place this restaurant even lower if I could because of their difficult wifi access… AVOID!!!

All day breakfast lunch and dinner. A fun diner environment, with magazines to browse and wifi to use freely. There are outlets at many of the booths for your computer too! I got the half ranch breakfast and it was plenty. With four pieces of toast, green chile turkey sausage, an egg and home fries/potato wedges, I couldn’t leave hungry. The decaf didn’t taste bad either and the service was very nice. It definitely got crowded near brunch time but it seemed like the kitchen staff was doing well with the orders and the manager was serving the customers with a smile.
