My husband and I decided to try ASR upon finding out that a range we usually go to was closed on Mondays. This year we have decided to take the concealed license course and needed some more practice before doing so. The folks at this range were very nice and helpful. The gentleman who worked at the front desk gave us a ton of information on the course itself and what is expected. He even allowed us to go to the concealed license range in order to get a good idea of the distances at which we will be shooting. His tips were awesome! We will be back for sure! Thank you all for a wonderful experience!

Reasonable price to shoot all day! You can move from pistol to rifle and back! Friendly folks and a simple outdoor range.

Range was a bit unkept. You have to wear a hat with a brim in order to shoot I have not seen that before at any other range I have been to. The price for $ 12 all day shooting is a good price. You are unable to shoot steel core ammo and they inspect ammo larger than .223 for this. The staff doesn’t breathe down your neck. you also can not bring the pistol to the rifle range and vice versa if you’re gonna be shooting multiple weapons that day

I visited for the first time recently and had a great experience. I was new to my gun so the staff was very friendly and helpful, even set me aside so I wouldn’t embarrass myself too much! They provided all of the gear that I forgot. It’s not the fanciest of places but I will definitely be visiting Lonestar again!

I’ve been to many ranges and this one used to be disgusting. Filthy with nasty range guy who yells at everyone. No one know why he is there. Went tjere a few months ago and it was much cleaner. The man in the big hat was really cool and helped us. And the lady behind the counter was really funny. The place looked a lot cleaner. It looked like they were building something so i think it’s getting bigger but that range guy was there so we just avoided him. Price is right 10 bucks for military to shoot and the lady said that kids were welcome which is nice. Go but try to stay away from that guy

So the other weekend my family and I headed out to Best of the West(our normal range) to practice for our CHL qualifying. Well it turns out BOTW had a HUGE event and they wanted $ 60. No thank you. So after having a quick meeting with the family we decided to take the advice of a local sheriff and head up 183 to some range we never heard of. One the way to said range, we passed Astro’s and made a quick decision to turn around and head there instead. So we went in and discovered that membership is free(yay I love free!) and the entrance fee is only $ 12 for ALLDAY! Woot-woot! Excellent pricing. So we all become fast members, paid our fees, geared up and hit the range. I love that the staff came around to check out what we were shooting. Not in a «You need to be monitored 24÷7» kind of way, but a «I love shooting, I love guns, hows it going» kind of way. Very refreshing. We spent about 2 ½ hours shooting then we decided to wrap it up. We talked with the staff on the way out and my cousin cracked a joke about bringing the grill out with us next time. The man behind the counter said we could use theirs! WHAT?! Guns and grilling??? Now that’s my kinds of place. Friendly staff, great prices, safe ranges, and you can grill. I think I found my new range.

Best range in the area. Family friendly. A lot better than any indoor range. Staff does not breathe down your back. Only down side is I can not shoot steel cased ammo because it does not pass the magnet test.

Very happy with this range. They seem to be building which is good. The staff was very welcoming and took positive control over who was where — a very nice touch for a gun range. Their hours are the best in town and it is easy to get to. Definitely coming back. Prices were great.

Showed up with my friends and Wolf ammo. Was told I would not be shooting that day, and they wanted to charge me $ 12 to NOT shoot with my friends. Not a fan.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. Good place to fire a few shots and have fun, plus they offer a military discount.

My experience here was awesome! The people in the office are really nice and laid back. This is my first time at the range so I didn’t know what to expect. It’s $ 12 per person per day and $ 10 for military! Bring your own targets, weapons and ear& eye pro and a hat. There’s some there you can rent but its limited. With ammo, they go by fast so bring as much as you think you’ll need! When I went we shot our pistols and my fiancé got a chance to shot his shot gun for the first time. I recommend this place if you want something close to Killeen/Fort Hood and want a place that’s laid back.

Visiting a shooting range is our family past time. My brother took us here while we were visiting from California. The girl at the front was really sweet. She set us up with ranges in the back. It’s outside and it’s hot. The rifle range gets a bit dusty. Once we walked to the pistol range, we were almost swarmed with grasshoppers hopping into the air to get away from us(ARGHHHHH!). Bring your sunscreen and waters if you’re gonna be out here for more than a couple hours ‘cuz you’ll definitely leave here with a red neck(no pun intended).
