Have been to Alfredos about 6 times. Food has always been consistently good. Their waiter, Eric, is exceptional. This Valentine’s Day was a disappointment however. My salad was supposed to be made with Feta cheese which I cannot eat. I asked for Blue cheese and it came with Feta. It was quickly replaced. The dressing was a vinaigrette which was on the side. It was mostly water with no flavor. I like a light amount of dressing and I had to use the entire cup and salt for any flavor. I then ordered the fettuccini Alfredo because everything else on the menu contained seafood or mushrooms which couldn’t be omitted. They could make the fettuccine without the mushrooms. The sauce was bland with barely any cream or Parmesan cheese. My husband ordered the large seafood dish and had a few forkfuls of pasta. He normally doesn’t like a lot but there was so little, he ate some of mine. I consider myself a pretty good cook and have eaten in many fine restaurants from NYC to Italy so I think I am a pretty good judge. My biggest let down has been the menu. It’s very small and unless you like seafood, the choices are limited to one or two. And for an Italian restaurant where pasta is generally a comfort food, there are little to no choices. I did have a fabulous pasta dish there last year with sausage and broccoli rabe but nothing since. Giving it another chance tomorrow night. Don’t let me down!!!

This is our favorite BYOB on the mainline. The staff is all wonderful and the food never disappoints. The change their menu seasonally and offer certain staples that are very tasty. Best of all, they are a great value and byob which means you can have a great date/dinner at a great price without sacrificing any quality. I highly recommend!

Everything was fantastic. The crab cake appetizer had an outstanding sauce and is a must have. We had the Veal Francaise, Veal Parmesan, Penne a la vodka, and Rigatoni and we were not disappointed! Everyone loved the food and we would definately recommend.

Alfredo did not disappoint last night. We were in the larger Table wine cellar with our group of 8. We started with two plates of the anti-pasta. Everyone enjoyed their pasta dishes. I tried to go light with the grilled calamari and butter beans are tender and delicious. Table next to us had the veal chop that looked phenomenal. Our service with Matt was really great. He’s fun and friendly did a good job handling the big crowd. Looking forward to going back again soon.

I had been here once or twice before and it had been fine. I went here for lunch on a weekday a month or two ago… Had the Grilled Shrimp and Calamari salad… Felt uneasy upon leaving, kind of nauseous after an hour, and was vomiting repeatedly after a couple hours. Will never, EVER go back.

I worked as a sous-chef for an Italian restaurant a bunch of years ago, so I tend to be hyper-critical of Italian food, to the point where I generally don’t eat out if I want Italian. I have been to Alfredo several times since moving to the area a couple of years ago, and have been mostly satisfied with every meal I have had there. For starters, I tend to go with one of the seasonal salads, which have all been appropriate(arugula + seasonal + vinaigrette). I have had the burrata, which was really nice and creamy, but I shy away from it because it is can be heavy to have with a tomato-based main dish. My go-to meal is the Paccheri alla Napoletana, which is a a large round noodle in a short-rib ragù. My dinner partners tend towards the Gnocchi, which are always light and well prepared, or they stick with American traditional items like the Chicken Parmesan. I have had one dessert there that I have stuck with: the Italian Donuts(Zeppole). The donuts are small and light and served with separate chocolate and caramel sauces. I like them because of their simplicity and their mild, not-to-sugary flavor. Their espresso machine sends out nuclear-hot coffee, so make sure you ask for it before your dessert. Ambiance can be a bit off due to the acoustics. If it is a busier night, it can be quite loud. I generally buffer myself with a nice bottle of wine at the table. The waitstaff is interesting. I haven’t had any odd requests, so I can’t comment on how staff deals with that, but they can be oversharers at times, which can be off-putting. Parking sucks in Berwyn. That’s basically all I can say about it. Good luck. I can’t give any stars to Berwyn’s parking. My main qualm recently has been with the bread and oil. The bread has been overly yeasty and bland, and the oil served with it hasn’t been a high-quality extra virgin olive oil, so you don’t get the nice peppery flavor that you could have. It is a poor starter, and honestly would rather not have something so sad to start out what could be a solid meal. Overall, Alfredo is solid. I would like to give it a 3.5, as it is slightly above average for the area. Don’t forget to bring a bottle of wine with you.

Several people in our party have celiac so we are gluten free. We decided to try the restaurant because of this. There were a large selection of very good appetizers and salads which was huge for us. The waiter(nick) was very helpful and friendly. They had delicious gluten free pasta. They had entrees marked that they could do gluten free by leaving off sauces spices and toppings making them a little bland. It was a great disappointment that the only dessert gluten free was raspberry sorbet since we were celebrating a birthday and had to skip dessert. Would return again but not for an occasion where we want to order dessert

We live outside of Boston but travel to PA often to visit family. Whenever we are in town we make sure a visit to Alfredo’s is on the itinerary. We absolutely love this restaurant! Our last visit was in August and we again had a great family meal. For appetizers we shared the artichoke, anti pasta for 2, and meatball. All delicious! For dinner, we had short ribs, crab ravioli(my personal favorite), veal with seafood, and branzino served table side. Again, all were excellent. We were having birthday cake at home — so didn’t have dessert after dinner however we didn’t want to miss out on their homemade desserts so we took two to go! I can’t remember our server’s name, however he was excellent and very attentive. I can’t wait until our next visit! Note: Alfredo’s used to be on the louder side, but it looks like they installed some panels to reduce the sounds. They did make a difference.

Excellent evening of great food at Alfredo’s! I was part of a party of 4. Our waitress was excellent and knowledgeable of the menu. I had the veal parm, and my wife had the salmon. First, let me say you MUSTTRY the arugula salad — really good. My entrée came out and seemed a good portion. However, I did notice that the other entrees seemed a little lite compared to the price. In any event — excellent! Only one issue: VERYNOISY. You do have to scream to be heard. But, I would definitely go again.

No one was hosting the front when we arrived. We went over to the take-out side and no one was there either. After waiting several minutes, we had to gesture in to the kitchen to find someone. Ended up seating ourselves as the only waitress staffed arrived late. Aside from that, nothing too special, pretty unauthentic. The meatballs were essentially flavorless, and everything on my plate(meatballs + eggplant parmigiana) seemed under-salted and underwhelming! When the waitress actually began her shift she was really nice and very attentive, so she earned these stars. There are other Italian places to go in the area, and there seems to be nothing special about this one.

I always have a good meal here. It’s my go-to place for impromptu evenings out. I have never had bad service and have always enjoyed my meals. I am quite shocked to read some of the bad reviews because my experience has always been positive. I love their pasta e fagioli soup, their short ribs plate, the pear and mixed greens salads, and the chicken and artichoke dish. Their desserts are delish when I’m not too full from dinner :)

Service was very attentive and courteous. Salad was slimy brown greens, not fresh. My wife became violently ill after eating very strong«fishy» smelling bronzino fish special. Fortunately the emergency room was not necessary because we found a convenience store bathroom for her to vomit repeatedly and discharge diarrhea. Not much good to say here… hope they have a good lawyer. What are they thinking?

Just returned home from here and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Food was delishous and the service was great. It took a little while for someone to come seat us so we were a little confused but it all worked out. It was empty so our food came out quickly and our drinks were refilled promptly. Hopefully will be back!

Don’t park in the lot next door on Lancaster Avenue… you very well might get towed. There is plenty of parking at Malvern Federal Bank, or down the block at Clay’s Bakery Parking lot. We went here on a week night and it was pleasantly filled. The staff was very accommodating and attentive. We asked for a quiet spot, but since the space is so open, there really isn’t any one place that you can cut off the noise, though the level was not piercing. The bread was fresh and delicious. I had the veal chop special which came out cooked perfectly, was a very large portion and tasty, I took half of it home. My husband had the house specialty Gnocchi Sorrentina. Sad to say, I would not call this a specialty and you can really skip this dish altogether. Very bland. The arugula salad was very good. The chef made up a special dish for my friend who is allergic to everything under the sun — - penne, garlic, olive oil, spinach and goat cheese… hers was way superior to the gnocchi. We had the donuts with dipping sauce as dessert as it was offered as a freebie on the Unilocal site. I would skip this and try something else next time. Overall it was a pleasant dinner.

My bf and I dined here for the first time on a Saturday night. We made a reservation and used a living social. When we arrived at 8pm we asked the hostess if we could have the seat by the window that was open. She looked at us and said, «that table is set for four» and kept walking… This immediately placed a bad taste in my mouth. There were several open tables and it was consistently clearing out at this point. Point is, we are paying customers and you’re not booked… seat us where we request. Well managed restaurants in the area would never allow that response. I should have been more assertive but was giving it a chance. Anyway, our server Nick was friendly and attentive(He, alone earned this review 2 stars). No issues with the service. Water glasses were filled, bread, appetizer(caprese) and entrees were spaced out appropriately but served in a timely manner. Our entrees were just blah. Honestly, not tasty at all. My bf had the Gnocci, which was just very generic. I had the rigatoni amatriciana. It was described as having pancetta, tomatoes and pecorino. The rigatoni itself was good(tasted boxed like I have at home) and the red sauce was just very generic and greasy. I didn’t see or taste any pecorino and the pancetta was noticeable fatty. I understand pancetta is usually fatty on one side but I had mostly entire pieces of fat. I couldn’t finish the meal. I maybe got half way through and was so disgusted by the beyond fatty pancetta that I just gave up. It definitely didn’t help that we were seated next to a family of four that included two noticeably miserable teenagers, an obnoxious father and mother/wife furious with her obnoxious husband. At one point, she violently shrugged her husbands hand off of her waist. It was awkward being seated next to them and having to hear their underwhelming, awkward and angry conversations. We paid the bill, tipped Nick well, left our entrees behind and walked out. We will not be be back to Alfredos Italian BYO. We’ll be sticking to Fellini’s next door… fantastic service and amazing tasting food. Plus, well mannered customers to sit close to!

You know, Italian restaurants are often like candy corn, the triangle shaped sweets that pop up each Halloween. Every year you tell yourself, «those things are awful; I will not eat any.» Five minutes later you’re seconding guessing your instincts. Most Italian restaurants are pretty underwhelming. You tell yourself, «just make it at home,» but the next thing you know, you’re paying good money for soggy spaghetti. Alfredo was very much like that– underwhelming(even though we used a deal for an appetizer, two entrees, and one dessert). BYOB is almost its only redeeming quality. Upon being seated, we were greeted by our server who introduced the specials for the night and had our table served bread(with oil & vinegar). Good start. My girlfriend and I started with a grilled squid dish. The squid was very good, but like many other items this evening, it was bathed in lots of oil along with its chickpea salad. For entrees, we selected the pappardelle with braised short rib tomato sauce and the linguine with various seafood(mussels, shrimp, clams, and squid) in a tomato sauce. The pappardelle was overcooked and very salty. It was difficult to physically eat. The beef was tender, though. The linguine was disgustingly oily, but the seafood was okay. For dessert, we ordered a chocolate torta. It was literally a half cooked circular brownie that was a half inch thick with a scoop of ice cream on top. I would not recommend it to anyone. Once again, I talked myself out of a reasonable choice to only eat Italian food that I could not make at home or get anywhere else. Not to mention our server took care of all the people around us and stopped by our table at most two times throughout the course of the meal while going to other tables four and five times. Once again I was completely underwhelmed. Maybe this is just a case of «you get what you pay for.»

I had dinner here last night with my girlfriend. We had a coupon for a 5 course Chef’s tasting menu(the coupon cost $ 50) and we also brought along a bottle of Merlot. As soon as we sat down the waitress brought over some waters and opened our bottle of wine. The ambiance was very pleasant and the service was excellent throughout the entire meal. They first brought out some crusty bread with an increadible oil/balsamic/parm cheese/crushed red pepper dip that paired extremely well with the bread. They refilled the bread and oil for us once and offered several more times. The first course had three different pieces of bruschetta. One with house made roasted beets, one with artichoke, and one traditional with hard cheese(probably parm). The second course was burrata(deliciously soft creamy mozzarella) with a small green salad and cherry tomatoes. Third course consisted of crab stuffed ravioli in a rich tomato cream sauce. The chef loaded the raviolis with crab and even garnished the plate with huge chunks of crab meat. The dish was excellent. For my main course I had a veal cutlet stuffed with proscuitto and I think mozzarella garnished with mushrooms in a type of tomato cream like sauce. The sauce was pretty good and the veal was solid. The dish in whole was pretty good, but nothing to rave about. For dessert we were served two italian donuts fresh out of the fryer(crispy on the outside and cream filled, DELICIOUS) and some kind of chocolate mousse. Overall the meal was excellent and I was very impressed with my experience, in general. I’ll come back in the near future without a coupon and see what it is like paying the normal prices. Highly recommend this place, well done!
