Unbelievable-such a horrible experience. I just left the restaurant after waiting 40ish minutes for 2 torta dinners. A couple and 2 families came after us and were served immediately. The waitress forgot to place our order(the place wasn’t even full). I’m definitely not coming back(not even an apology was said). Now, I’m looking for another place to eat. Wow…

The food is good specially the steak tacos. Horrible service when you walk in they don’t even greet you. The women that works there most of the time is very short and impolite. The only reason I come here is the distance from my job. Hopefully they improve their service some time soon.

Went there late and they were open after searching good restaurants in the area because I’m a Northsider. Had the very best gorditas! Everything is home made! Picking up menudo shortly! Can’t wait! All the tacos were awesome including their barbacoa, steak, and chicken. Definitely going back.

Went here on a recommendation from a friend. The one negative was there was only one person working the room. It took a while to get our drinks and people who came in after us got their food before us. On the positive side, the waitress was very nice and the food was very good. I do wish they served beer.

Not to exaggerate, but the service is very bad. There are 2 servers, 1 cashier, the owner, & cooks, yet 4 tacos, 1 torta & an order of flautas take 45 mins to come out the kitchen. A table next to us, walked out because the food was taking to long, & the young lady who was servicing had no logic to inform & apologize to her tables for the delay. However, the food is very good & fresh, but I will not go back to Meson. To the owner, please train your staff & have a constancy with service.

Don’t be fooled by the word express. The only expedited action going on in here is regret. We waited 49 mins for a «coctel de pulpo”(more like coctel de fahkit) and 3 gorditas. There was two people waiting for pick up, and another couple. The place was far from packed and had two waitresses. We were hesitant to go here because our last experience was similar. FYI the red salsa is satans semen.

Great place for mexican food. I enjoyed the chips and salsa served right away to you at the table. I ordered the Lengua Ranchero. A bit spicy, but delicious. The portions are very good. Definitely would go back!

Went there for the first time for breakfast, glad they are open early and stay open late. Had the pork, lengua, and liver and onion taco’s pork was good, lengua had not much flavor but the interesting liver and onion taco’s were awesome. Not a big fan of their sauces, red was too hot, salsa verde taste weird. But they have a large menu I’m willing to try next time I go I’m getting the steak burrito… WISHTHEYHADALCHOHOL.

I have gone to this place 2 times. First time I went there I ordered for carry out. I waited 25 minutes for 5 tacos. Needless to say I was less than happy about the experience and was skeptical about going back. I ended up going again because I was craving a soup. The food was not the greatest, and I was very dissappointed when I got my bill. First of all the receipt did not reflect the price on the menu. They changed their price and when I looked at the receipt and questioned the waitress she stated that the owner didn’t care that people get bothered and as he heard me questioning her he went towards the back and tried to hide instead of talking to me. I asked her to go get him and he made excuses about his computer system being updated but the menus had not be reprinted yet. The cook jumped in and said they are not trying to steal from me and said that they made changes. The point is they did not honor the menu prices, and they did not seem to care to loose a customer. They made excuses and did not accept the fact that they are wrong in not informing customers that the menu prices were not accurate. Its not a couple of cents, its dollars difference. If I had known I would have drove a little farther down and gone to Indio. I always eat at Indio and feed myself and my 2 daughters for 20 dollars or less. Meson Express hit me up for 35.00 for some mediocre shrimp soup and enchiladas, some microwaved rice that tasted like the refrigerator and 2 drinks. Never again will i be coming there. I wouldve let it slide if the food was good but the salsa was the only thing that was decent and like alot of other mexican restaurants lack customer service skills. Word of mouth gets around and I will not be recommending this place to anyone.

Food is good, chips and salsa are great. I ordered a carne asada al tampiqueno and it was really good and large. The only reason I am rating it 3 stars is because we were the second table and service was really slow. Good if you don’t mind waiting a long time for your food or drink.

To begin with the chips they serve on table are delicious so I knew the food was going to be great and it sure was. Their soups taste just like grandmas cooking. I would definitely come back.

I have to revise my review of Meson. We order from them very frequently. Over the past few months, they have been very inconsistent. My wife and I order the same meal most times, but they seem to change ingredients(including the style of steak). We are going to start trying other places in the area. The problem is most of the good ones don’t deliver, which is why we have stuck it out with Meson. The food is still solid, but not that great anymore.

First time here, the food was really pretty good. We has steak tacos, very tender tasted good. We also has the alambre gordita .It has steak pepper, bacon and cheese. It was really good .We wanted to have a margarita, But they no longer serve booze. Well then take it off your menu!!! I. I took a star away for that. I also took a star away for the service. It was very slow, and once We finally got our food She never came back. Next time i will call in my order and pick it up.

This place has HANDSDOWN the best steak for their nachos/quesadillas/burritos ever! It was a huge trap for me when I worked at Macneal. Only reason in taking away a star is because you can’t get a margarita there anymore. I’m a loyal fan of this place though. Fresh ingredients and great food. Great prices too! The place tends to be a little«hole in the wall” — they can have their Santa clause decoration out until July! But I’ve never had a bad experience here.

This restaurant is so dirty, the food is terrible and the servers are rude. They have a window in their kitchen that you can see in from the outside and it is so nasty looking, to eat here you have to be desperate.

Chipotle Chicken. This is what will bring me back here. Saucy, creamy, very reminiscent of Butter Chicken or Chicken Makhani, but with Latin spices instead of Indian. Tender pieces of chicken smothered in a mildly spicy, smoky sauce, served with rice, refried beans and tortillas. The only thing wrong – need more rice to help eat up all that saucy goodness. I really wanted to try the beef soup as I hear it’s pretty miraculous but that will have to wait another day. I got to try the chicken enchiladas and it was pretty tasty too, just a little on the salty side for my personal taste. Each table gets a bowl of super fresh and crunchy tortilla chips, the green salsa and a red smoky salsa. Both very tasty and addictive. The pickled veggies were a nice touch – very vinegary. Service was really friendly but I’d have to agree with others, it seemed to take quite a while for our food to come out after we ordered. It won’t deter future visits but just know it wont be a super quick dining experience so plan accordingly.

Bottom line: Decent food, and terrible service. The cashier, which I fathom is related to the owner was as incompetent as he was rude. He ended up giving my order to another customer, and a server had to fix the issue. For the quality there are plenty of comparable spots around this community, that also have polite servers. Why go back? I won’t.

I’ve been coming to this place for about 2 years, if not MORE. I used to go there every weekend with a new set of friends, who then brought their friends, who then brought their friends and ousted me as mayor! This place was amazing. Notice the ‘was’. They started to get busy and then started renovating and then I noticed that my favorite waitress was gone, but I still came. Soon, their food started to taste different, not fresh, different seasonings, whatever. I STILL came because I am a firm believer in being loyal to a small businesses. Last night, and the last time I will ever go there, I was really upset. I surely am not one to be picky or complain often because I know how it is to be a server and work with food so please do not be confused. I walked in and there was a table of 4 next to me, a table of 2 in front of me and a table of two across the restaurant. A very slow evening for this place. Everyone was deep within conversing and not paying attention to anything else, especially the T. V’s. As huge Hawk’s fans, we requested that the game was turned on as no one in the place was watching the game. The waitress said«okay», left and retrieved our chips/drinks. Upon returning, a young man came with a remote and began skipping through channels, as ever, we were super excited but to our disappointment he turned on soccer, watched for about 5 minutes, and then left… leaving the soccer on! So we asked if it could be turned on the other T.V. and low and behold, young man comes back, and starts flipping through channels and puts soccer on THAT T.V. too! I was pretty angry to say the least but never the less, I went up to him, asked him if I was able to contact the owner,(so that I could discuss that the customer should be coming first in this industry and employees not watching TV.) and he says to me «Well what can I help you with, I am the owners son.» I paid my bill, went home and decided that I would never go there again.

Angela P first introduced me to this place. She had some food catered to her sons birthday. That’s where I fell in love with the El Meson Creamy Chipotle Chicken. It’s chicken in this creamy chipotle sauce and some rice. Sounds pretty boring but it is deeeee-lish! Mom, pops and the bro got a ceviche tostada, taco de pastor, gorditas de pastor, and tacos de asada, respectively. My dad Loved the pastor, that’s right, capital L. The other food was also as good. Now, my only beef with Meson Express is that it wasn’t so express. We waited for our food for a solid 30 minutes, no bs, but I kept my cool. The second order came by faster, I think they realized their mistake. It’s a dingy little place but the food is great!
