Great on a hot summer’s day to enjoy a cold treat to cool off on! From cones to shakes made with soft serve product, NOT ice cream!

Tastee freeze is the best ice cream shop in Berwyn IL, since my wife has been pregnant she’s been craving ice cream and it never let us down from their soft served ice cream dipped in pretty much any flavor you want to Sunday’s to Milk shakes, top notch spot. I highly recommend this establishment.

Husband and I had somewhat unofficially struck this location from our list of options after several disappointing visits — watery soft serve, watery syrup, skimpy toppings and mix-ins when we had requested and paid for extra. When my sister was desperate for something to feed my nephews while visiting the farmer’s market across the street, I pointed out the Tastee Freez, not knowing this location differs from others that offer hot dogs and pizza puffs. This one doesn’t. Well, didn’t matter either way. It was a bit before noon and they hadn’t opened yet. It was close enough to noon, however, that an employee was inside getting the stand ready for service. When my young nephews, 5 and 6, ran up to the window, having not realized they weren’t open yet, the woman inside shouted«f&*$ off,» shot a dirty look at my sister and went about her business inside. I expressed my disappointment in a relatively small community Facebook group, not wanting to bash a Berwyn biz to the Unilocalishpere. The owner, Anthony, saw and made it a point to pass his number along to a mutual contact so I could call him as he was«concerned.» Well, it would seem his concern is limited to his employee, not customers. No apology was offered. Instead, he wanted to tell me he reviewed the soundless surveillance footage and«barely saw the children» and expressed doubt that anything of the sort even happened because the«windows were closed» and the employee didn’t appear to interact with anyone. I asked why my sister, nephews or I would have any reason to make something like this up. The owner said he wasn’t saying I was, «just that the footage didn’t show anything happened.» At no point did Anthony apologize for the foul language or any possible misunderstanding, if that was even what he was trying to imply the entire interaction was in the first place. I love this town and want to see businesses succeed here, which is why I am reluctant to bash this one. That this owner has been operating with this sort of attitude for 30 years(?) is a marvel to me. I am pretty sure the first lesson in customer service is never to argue with customers. That the product is subpar was enough reason to avoid. This level of service is just the nail in the coffin, for me. Will not just avoid, will never return.

Great little ice cream stand! I’ve been coming here for years and it so much better than any more well-known ice cream parlors. There is some parking space in the back and tables outside to enjoy your ice cream. The options are wide, incredible and tasty. Check it out if you have never gone!

Good stuff! They have crazy dip flavors like cotton candy and blue raspberry. Not to my taste, but my guy loves it. Prices are very modest, a medium cone with a dip/sprinkles is less than $ 3.00. The only downfall is they don’t take credit cards. Cash only.

I used to go here when I lived in the Berwyn/Cicero area years back. I honestly forgot about it’s existence until just recently so I stopped by with my younger brothers a couple days ago on an adventure down memory lane. It’s still as good as I remember it. There should be more cute, small ice cream shops like Tastee Freez. I just knocked down a star because they don’t accept credit/debit cards.

This little ice cream stand has everything it needs! I have been coming here since I was little and it still taste the same as I could remember. They also fill their cones the right way, all the way! When you get down to the cone and only have about 3 more mins left with your delicious friend, you can still taste the ice cream and not just the cone. a medium chocolate cone with a chocolate dip is about $ 2.75 and this sucker is big, I would estimate about 5 – 6 inches worth and the cone only being about an inches and a half. Well worth it :)

This place is just a stand with only 3 or 4 people working in it. Good soft serve for the price. This place is mainly great for the childhood memories, which is why I go back time and time again. But a medium twist(chocolate and vanilla) in a regular cone for a couple of bucks is definitely worth it.
