Our family loves this place. It is family owned and you always see the family working in the kitchen. The place is clean, priced just right, and the staff is always upbeat and friendly. We always buy the 2 large pizza special. We take one home half baked and freeze. YUM Thank you!!!

Best darn pizza in town and surrounding. … love this place. The staff treat you like family. The owners are the sweetest people ever. I have been coming here since I was a kid, the original building was so tiny people would wait hours to sit, but it was worth it. When they built the new building I was so excited bc now I wouldn’t have to wait hours to eat my favorite pizza.

It’s ALLABOUTTHATSAUCE! Let me preface this by saying that the Pizzos always provide fast, friendly service, and I have never had a bad experience at Roma’s. But I honestly am not a huge fan of the pizza.(All Bethaltonians go «WHAT?») The crust is thin but not crunchy, and I usually use a paper towel to sponge the grease off the top if I do eat a piece. That’s just me. That being said, Roma’s has the best pizza sauce ever. I love to get their garlic cheese bread and dip it in the sauce. I’m more of a pasta fan than pizza, and if you love pasta, you’ll love Roma’s. The salads are good too. Ask for cheese and you will get lots. I love their baked ravioli and, like I said, it’s wonderful with garlic bread. I have lived in Bethalto for 25 years. Many of my friends love Roma’s pizza for the pizza. But there is more to Roma’s than just the pizza. Try the pasta! You won’t be disappointed. Side Note: The only thing I would add to Roma’s is DELIVERY. I’m sure they have their reasons though if they have been around this long and still don’t offer it. I bet it would double their business though.

I grew up in Bethalto close enough to Romas to smell the pizza if the wind was right. I know live a few towns away. However, tonight when friends said lets get pizza I felt like a kid again. We were promptly seat and our order came up quckly. The pizza is served piping hot and salads are simple but there is just something about the simple salad with cheese… I will say for the first time in years i was disappointed in our waitress. She should take a few lessons from the other waitresses. Usually, the table is well tended and I won’t let her stop me from retrning soon. Don’t let this little known town slip off your radar. Take a trip and see what keeps people from Bethalto returning home to their favorite pizza place.

Best Pizza and staff in Metro St. Louis area. They have good salad, dressings, appetizers — cheese bread & bosco sticks. Cold beer and good soda. The pizza is the main attraction. Dine in or carry out.

I wasn’t sure whether to give this one a 3 or 4 star review, so bear with me, it was tough! Roma’s has a great history as it is the lone standout of the sleepy community of Bethalto. I’ve came here in the past a few times(at its former location), but I did go in there just recently. I had the all-meat pizza, and boy was it loaded. I can mostly taste the bacon and ham, which was fine. The crust, I wasn’t sure how to judge. With most pizza places, I mostly judge by the crust for weird reasons. For some reason, it just didn’t stand out with me. I asked one of the workers, ‘So how would you describe your pizza?’ And he was like, ‘I have no idea. We’re not New York, Chicago, or St. Louis. I guess, straight up Italy!’. That sounds about right! The place still looked very new and clean, and the staff was very friendly. Even the waitress was impressed I ate 90% of the pizza!

This restaurant is fantastic. We have eaten in a few times and the service was great. Most of the time we order pizza for takeout. The Roma’s Special is one of the best pizza’s that we have ever had. Never disappointed.

I’ve ate here many times over. BEST pizza in MO or IL. Carryout or dine in only no delivery. Carryout orders wait time is always 20 mins. Service is always GREAT. I suggest the shrimp & alfredo pizza.

My review is only for a takeout order, but I will say I was impressed by the venue. The parking lot had plenty of spaces, the dining room was well lit and looked clean, and, from what I could see of the staff, everyone appeared busy but not overanxious or hurried. I was greeted promptly, the pizza was ready, and the salad was quickly put together for the road. You can see the food in my photos. LARGEPIZZA: I liked the crust, sauce, and toppings; the mozzarella was laid on thick. I think the flavors were even better when I warmed up the leftovers the next day. LARGESALAD: Mainly iceberg lettuce and lots of grated mozzarella, perhaps the most I’ve ever had on a salad. The large size seemed enough for four, and probably plenty for almost any two hearty eaters. I like iceberg and mozzarella, but thought there could have been double the sliced black olives. The only other things on the salad were two tough wedges of a pinkish-but-not-ripe tomato. These days, good tomatoes in winter aren’t that hard too find. Hey Roma’s, how about adding some diced vine-ripened tomatoes? Or halved grape tomatoes? They would add a lot of flavor and visual appeal and not that much cost to an $ 8.00 salad, especially if you cut the amount of cheese in half. Roma’s has the feeling of a good hometown restaurant, and I’d return without hesitation.

The absolute best pizza and cannelloni you will find. Family owned super friendly place. Our family are regulars from way back. We have never had a bad Roma’s experience.

I have never had any bad encounters eating here. The pizza was prepared well and is always brought out warm. I love getting a salad with my meal because they actual give you a full salad not just a little bowl with nothing in it. The pizza prices are decent they usually have good deals.

How many times have you read this line — «Best pizza in STL!!»? Guess what? It’s true. Romas is a best in class. When I’m in town, it’s always on my list. The atmosphere is a Buzz. Its lively, there are always people waiting, the prices are fair and the quality it top notch. These people care about their product and have been doing so for decades.

A local institution. You can’t go wrong ordering any pizza on the menu. When you call in you will always be told to pick up your order in 20 minutes.

Very good pies, but the grease is a bit much. Dine in servers do a great job of keeping the drinks filled, but the kitchen could use another oven or a few extra hands. Suggest carry out.

Two stars because 2.5 is not an option. I have lived in St Louis metro long enough to not expect much from pizza or local pizza reviewers(you can’t expect someone who has never seen the sun to review a sunset). I do however give credit to any place locally who does not serve the dogshit fake cheese by the name of provel that the same aforementioned reviewers have been brainwashed into believing is actually an acceptable topping. In summation, blandish crust, ok toppings and ok sauce= you win over the local competition of Pizza Hut, Pappa Johns etc.

Been going to Bethalto, IL for several years now and been passing Roma’s Pizza at 136 West Bethalto Blvd. The place is ALWAYS packed! Parking lot is full. A sign to me that the place must be good! Even talked with a friend of mine in Bethalto and she says the pizza is really good. So we went — had the large(14 inch) deluxe — the toppings were great portion and extremely fresh. Service was wonderful and invitating. We went around 8PM on a Saturday night and the place was till at least half full. People were continuing to pile into the restaurant while we were there. Here is my issue with the pizza. The crust. The crust doesn’t do it for me. Love the toppings and the large soda glasses. But the crust was just so «frozen from the freezer» and not fresh tasting to me. Other reviewers seem to like it, but it appeared to be right from the freezer and not fresh. I will probably try the pasta next time, but not sure my partner will even want to go — he was less enthusiastic about it. I have to agree with Benjamin S’s review on 11/11/2012! Spot on!

The pizza was delicious. I didn’t eat in so I’m not sure about the service but as far as the pizza goes, it was great and there was something in their sauce that made it quite different from other pizza places. The pizza was not bad heated up in the oven either. Overall, I was really impressed and I thank those who have given this place a good review because I wouldn’t have tried it if it weren’t for you guys!

Great pizza every time! Very limited alcohol selection, definitely a family restaurant with lots of kids so not a good date place IMO. Unless you are bringing kids. :) Pretty blah inside but clean and friendly staff. I wish the interior had a little more character and not just family photos(??). I like Roma’s for a quick lunch or carryout a couple times per year.

If I were only rating the pizza(and I mainly get take out), I’d go 5 stars. If you throw in the restaurant, I have to drop to 4 stars because the place is usually very messy — a testament to how busy they are. Roma’s has been around for quite awhile(close to 40 years?) and the family is true Sicilian. This is authentic pizza. Great crust, nice sauce, good toppings. I get a hankering for a Roma’s pizza(and there are several fine pizzerias closer to me) about once a month and make the drive. Give them a try — you can’t compare them to anyone else because their pizza is unique — and darn tasty!
