We came in on a Summer night and had Caesar salads, a «better than pepperoni» pizza and a regular cheese pizza. The pizzas were great. I am a pepperoni fan and must say that this pizza was BETTERTHANPEPPERONI! The Caesar salads were average at best. I was disappointed in these. The drink selection was good as these offer several craft beers and decent wine. The service was okay. We were seated quickly and our food was served in a timely manner, however, our server was struggling. She brought the salads before the drinks, wasn’t real attentive, etc. Overall, we were extremely impressed with the pizza and definitely will be back

Great service from John all night. Very attentive without being annoying. The shrimp and the beef and blue pies were out of this world. The flavors worked together perfectly and the crust is hands down the best I’ve ever had! We had a bottle of wine with our dinner, we ended up finishing it and just enjoying the quiet perfect venue.

Very good pizza! GREAT service and beer selection. Only draw backs where no kids menu :(our kids don’t love pizza — I know– crazy! But they ate it… Also no crayons, coloring paper or anything to keep kids engaged. Over all good experience

Only had carry out so can’t speak to the eat in experience. The pizza is wonderful. More like flatbread than traditional pizza but the ingredients are so fresh and authentically Italian. Also got the Caesar salad that was excellent with very fresh romaine and white anchovies. I waited at the teeny tiny bar while my takeout was being prepared and the bartender(Christina?) was terrific letting me taste a few reds before settling on a nice Zin. They have a small but very good selection of wines by the glass(just wine and beer available). Really nice addition to Bethany and a welcome alternative to the truly awful Grotto Pizza. Sorry all you Grottoites. I know you love you some Grotto in the summer!!!

We had a great experience here. The server was really nice and personable. The pizza and apple/blueberry pie was delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Cool artwork on the walls. We will come back next time we are in the area.

Had one of the best pizza! Got the artichoke-sun-dried-tomatoes-goat-cheese-to-die-for pizza. Excellent. My husband had a delicious beef blue and kids stuck to the usual cheese-basil pizza. Ate in with two little kids. Nice ambiance and service was great. Hope we will get a chance to try it again before we leave… Yummy spot!

My wife and I tried Pie during the off-season. It is a very small and quaint restaurant built in a house. We started with the Caesar salad which was definitely large enough for us to share. It came out quickly and was very tasty and fresh. Perhaps a tad, but just a tad, too much dressing. My wife had the Proscuitto pizza which was very good and interesting with the fresh arugula on top. The arugula was very fresh and tasty. I had the Better than Pepperoni, and the sopressata was exactly as the waiter described — somewhere between pepperoni and salami. Both pizzas were hot and fresh and heartily enjoyed. The service was great as well — when we told the waiter that we would be sharing the salad, he automatically gave us to small plates so that we could share easily. The building was a little small, but some might call it «cozy». Since this was the off-season, the ventilation seemed to need help as it was a bit smoky from the open kitchen set up. All in all, it was a very good dining experience that I’d rate a 4.5 star experience, and we’d recommend the restaurant to our friends and family — in fact we already have. If the ventilation would better, I’d give it a full 5 stars.

Best pizza place in Bethany! Simple yet creative, and of course, delicious. The beer and wine selection is unmatched, and the staff makes the experience that much better. Cozy environment with an open fire place, making for the perfect evening anytime of the year. Definitely check this place out if you’re in town!

My wife and I ate supper there on a November Saturday night-the place was reasonably busy for the off season. The service was excellent once it got started; nice young lady who was very attentive and pleasant. The pizza(that’s all they serve!) is definitely several cuts above your average pizza joint fare. Lots of options or build your own. Extra garlic on request. Salad is available, as is dessert. You can buy beer or wine-good selection. Only comment: place is a bit noisy, but otherwise a neat little place to go at the beach.

Ordered take out and it takes 25 minutes before the order is ready House salad — a good variety of greens with blue cheese, no Iceberg lettuce which is a plus Pizzas Italian Beef and blue — must try Margarita Italian sausage with ricotta(add your own) The pizzas were all good, we had left overs for 4 people but if you’re a big eater, than you should order your own pie. The only negative, after we picked up our order, got a call from Pie and told us they gave us the wrong order so we had to turn around to pick up the right one. For the reviewers complaining about the prices, just remember where the restaurant is located, they are all expensive in that area

Really enjoyed this. Brought the kids(two 11 year olds) and had a really nice meal. We ordered two salads(Caesar and mozzarella and tomato) and two pizzas(Italian and Margarita). Everything was excellent. Service was excellent and the food was both tasty and served promptly. Not a bad thing to say and we’ll be back at a time when we DON’T have kids for a nice dinner for two.

Disappointing mess! We chose this restaurant because we wanted an uncomplicated, not fried, crab free dinner. The reviews were good and the menu looked promising — FOILEDAGAIN! We arrived at the restaurant when it opened and it was super cute. The waitress was lovely and super friendly. So friendly that my daughter said«that lady is very nice.» We placed our order and we had: Tomato and mozzarella salad — very good Kalamata Olive and Eggplant pizza — soggy gross mess. No feta cheese or onion to be found(which is ironic and I will get to that in a minute.) Margarita Pizza — soggy, but my kids liked it We were sitting at our table, waiting for our food and all of sudden my eyes started to tear and sting very badly. After a few minutes, I was in agony and asked the waitress what was going on. She said that they were cooking onions and that was why my eyes were stinging. It got so bad that we had to get our pizza to go and I had to wait in the car. A few minutes after I left, the restaurant started to empty out because everyone’s eyes were burning. My daughter’s eyes were irritated and another child was sitting outside rubbing his eyes. He may have been crying from the pain in his eyes. The staff tried to prop the door open to lessen the fumes. My hubby(who went to cooking school) spoke with the waitress and told them that the onions should have been prepared hours ago. The excuse was that they were«short staffed.» My advice, avoid at all costs.

The pizza is excellent! It’s a small place, so be prepared to wait if you’re more than two. It’s a little cramped inside the restaurant but the 2 tall tables in the sunroom out front are perfect for a group of 4 – 5. Great choice off the beaten path.

I love gourmet pizza, probably a bit too much. Pie satisfied all of my desires for gourmet pizza and more. We(my parents and I) arrived on a lovely Thursday evening after a nice day at the beach. We sat down in a cozy(but somewhat tight) dining area after a brief wait, but they had a lovely porch where you can sit and wait to be seated. We ordered wine and some salads to begin with and had some pretty prompt and nice service. I ordered the tomato/mozzerella salad, my dad got the same thing but added olives, and my mother ordered the caesar salad with not anchovies. The salads were delicious! Fresh tomatoes, crisp lettuce, and dreamy mozzarella cheese made it incredible! I got to try my mom’s caesar salad, and found that to be very good as well. The croutons were also very good and had a lovely hint of parmesan cheese. Then we had our pizza. We ordered two pizzas because they can be big and we also ordered salads. If you’ve ever been to &pizza, Pie’s pizzas are about the same size. We ordered the prosciutto pizza and the goat cheese artichoke. Both pizzas were really quite good. We did wish that we had ordered the special that night, which was a peaches pizza with an Italian brie cheese. It sounded so heavenly! Oh well, next time we’ll order it! We did not sample their pies, but we really liked that their pies are seasonal, so perhaps next time we will sample them. One last thing that makes this restaurant a huge cut above the rest, the bathrooms. So usually in restaurants you have a ladies bathroom and a mens bathroom, so there can be a wait for the ladies room depending on when you go. Not this place. They have a ladies room, and a unisex room. I really enjoyed this from the perspective as a woman, because it is super annoying to wait for the ladies room. I love that Pie did this and I would really like to see more restaurants do this.

Definitely come here after a day at the beach. The crust was extremely tasty(great texture, delicious flavor) and the variety of pizzas that we had were very good. One person at our table was troubled by how much cheese was on hers, but I am a sucker for cheese and didn’t mind. I did end up spicing up my pizza quite a bit, so I could use a little more flavor, but overall, it’s very satisfying.

Good food, good wine. We had a party of six and had to wait a bit for a table. Once seated, things went smoothly. The pizza options were varied and all looked good. I had a glass of red zinfandel that was also quite nice. My go to pizza is a white pizza with funghi and they had it. I asked for a side of arugula — which they were happy to provide. Nice experience, we’ll go back.

4 thumbs up from four people. We had the margarita, the Italian, the summertime and the beef and blue. Everyone was happy. the mozzarella and tomato salad was a revelation. I even tried a rose that was delightfully sour. Just come in early so that you don’t have a long wait.

Amazing pizza. Some of the best, most gourmet pizza ever. This is not your average beach pizza joint. This is really nice and upscale pizza in a quaint setting. Prices ate above average and portions are smallish but the fresh ingredients and selections more than make up for it. Just be prepared to order a few pies. Small dining room means a wait time but well worth it.

Pie is a cool pizza joint in Bethany Beach De. The thin crust brick oven pizza was delicious. I had the«Italian» with sausage and broccoli rabe. The crust was crispy, the sauce was just right a little spicy and a little sweet. The sausage was good. An interesting wine and beer list. They don’t take reservations. Be prepared to wait. Take out is an option if you don’t want to wait.

A sweet little spot nestled in a former house, Pie’s food is incredibly delicious though its name is a bit of a misnomer and the restaurant has far more character than its logo implies. The pizzas are oblong and generously sized, measuring about 7 by 16 inches, and have a thin crispy crust loaded with an abundant collection of toppings. The menu is simple in scope(3 salads, maybe a dozen pizza choices) but well thought out. We were impressed by the rich flavor combinations in the roasted eggplant pizza, where the kalamata olives melded with the roasted red peppers and offset the sweet caramelized red onions and eggplant. The strawberry rhubarb pie was tasty, though had more crumb crust than filling. Great ambience. Great for vegetarians and people who like sophisticated food. Surprisingly good for kids too! We would definitely return.
