This place is extremely over priced and has mediocre food. Definitely not for the younger crowd either, their clientele consists of an older crowd. I’ve been here a few times to give them a few chances and I’m still not wowed. Seems they have a hard time keeping staff too, there has never been the same people working when I’ve went.

Used to be ok. Service and food seriously declined. I gave up on the place when I had to send my dish back 3 times because it was literally DROWNED in oil. Nice bar, but expensive for the area. Not a place that locals visit. Great for those passing through or visiting due to proximity to bethel woods.

«The food was okay. The service was not as good as I would of hoped for. As mentioned in a previous review, it was slow and inattentive. Had to wait an unacceptably long time just to have our water refilled. Sorry to say, this place is not a keeper on my list of eateries.»

We loved this little gem we found on our way back from Bethel Woods. Had a pleasant time tasting their own bourbon, rye, buckwheat liquor, and grapa at the distillery on the grounds. Went across to the saloon for lunch. Had a delish chocolate stout(on tap). Started with the Brie and pear plate — warm, creamy baked Brie served with bread and an assortment of fresh fruits(see pic). Tasty and refreshing. Had the Hendrix burger — huge burger with fresh blue cheese, grilled onions on a toasted roll. Omigod — perfection. Served with sweet potato fries. Friend had grilled chicken sandwich — loved it. Service was super friendly and attentive. Great funky place!!!

Food here is amazing. From the appetizers to the main course. Its kid friendly and right down the road from Bethel Woods if you are going to a concert. Its not the cheapest place but the food is worth it. So are the drinks. They own the distillery right next door. The Blue Moonshiners went down easy.

The Dancing Cats Saloon is located in Bethel, New York on Route 17B. It’s décor is part nouveau French and part, well, saloon. French bread, hard crusted was served with sweet butter. This was followed by the house salad: tender greens, carrots, tomato and a sweet vinaigrette dressing. I ordered the Atlantic Salmon au Orange, poached in orange and other citrus juices and seasoned with cilantro, sundried tomatoes, ginger, garlic and white wine. Served with grilled vegetables, it was a delicious, well prepared and seasoned dish. The ginger was fervent, the sundried tomatoes savory. Added to a decent salmon fillet, the ingredients blended into a delicious and memorable dinner. The staff was attentive and responsive. The Dancing Cats Saloon is proof that one need not make the trek to New York City, favorite metropolis though it may be, to experience good food.

Ok at best. Not very busy but it took 20 minutes to get the attention of a server. Bread never came. Food tasted frozen. Not impressive but for the area there aren’t many choices.

I’m reading some of the glowing reviews and I’m thinking, «Really?» These people must not get out much. We experienced the WORST service ever. Placed our order and the appetizers came out an hour and a half later. We cancelled the rest of the order. The food that was served was good but nothing extraordinary. There’s not another restaurant for miles so I guess this is as good as it gets in Bethel.

Outstanding place to be on any day. A very relaxing atmosphere with good people working to make you feel war and welcome. The live music was great. Good menu, reasonable prices, and artisans behind the bar taking pride in every cocktail they create. Everyone seems to enjoy being in this happy place.

Well the location is great and they make there own bourbon and vodka which is very good unfortunately the food is terrible. The Cisco truck parked out front is a dead giveaway that they really don’t care about the quality of the food they serve. If you are heading to a concert go to the Bethel Market you won’t be disappointed with the food. If you need a drink go to the Cat but skip the food, I have eaten there a few times and have never had a good meal.

We sat on the Veranda at about 2:30 on a Saturday and received fine service. I had a cocktail based on their moonshine, with blueberries, which was refreshing. For appetizers we split the chicken wings. they took a while to come, but we were brought a refill of their nice sourdough baguette to munch on while we waited. The wings were hot, fresh and well cooked. I believe there were eight pieces, mostly good size drumettes. Celery and blue cheese dressing were standard issue. For our main courses, I had the Hendrix burger(Gorgonzola and caramelized onions if I recall), which arrived closer to medium well than the requested medium. The missus had the mahi-mahi sandwich, which she enjoyed. Both the sweet potato fries and the standard ones were hot crisp and delicious. We walked over to the distillery afterward. We were neither greeted, nor offered any tastes or a tour. I needed a bottle of bourbon, so I bought one and left.

I stopped by on my way out from mysteryland, they had a jazz brunch going. Drinks and food were decent. the atmosphere, jazz and friendly staff is what contributed the most to the experience overall. The chef even came out to the patio and asked how everything was. Cute spot.

My husband and I visited the micro distillery and restaurant during our trip to the Catskills. The staff is very pleasant and engaging. We were given a tour of the premises and walked through their distillation process(the distillery uses local grains), and given some fascinating background. The distillery has won many awards for its spirits and is one of the best in NY state. We were particularly impressed with their truly unique tasting Buckwheat ‘whiskey’ with its earthy aromas and slight hint of smoke. The restaurant also serves amazing food! I had the rib-eye steak which had a nice charred flavor. The dish came with a side of potato gratin, grilled zuchinni, red peppers, and squash, and also a nice salad with lemon vinaigrette dressing.

Service was friendly but slow and a little inattentive. We ordered a few things from the appetizers and a bottle of wine. The octopus was too chewy and a little fishy. If they want to serve octopus, perhaps switch to regular octo and stay clear of the baby variety. The wings were ok. Perfectly cooked but under seasoned. The baked brie was good with tasty accompaniments, just note that this is plain baked brie, not en croute(wrapped in puff pastry). It’s a fun place to stop, with the distillery next door, but nothing to go out of your way for. PS — the owner also owns the distillery, the antique place across the street and the art gallery. She makes a point of letting you know, as well as how many other properties she owns in the area. Some people at the restaurant found her endearing, but we found her pretentious and attention seeking.

A Gem on an Old Country Road. Great Meaty Wings, Delicious Gnocchi with wild mushrooms and the libations«Curious Gin and Apple Cider Moonshine» spot on. We found on Great Place to Eat, Make Friends and Listen to Good Music. If I could have put Six Stars, I would have.

We came over after watching Richard Marx concert, nice people, decent food(spinach ravioli sauce is a bit oily for my taste. My hubby’s burger is ok. When you come here, leave your snootiness at the door, this is a place to relax, hang loose and just enjoy the music, booze and food. Thanks To Stacy, Michelle and kudos to the chef for accommodating us even though their kitchen was already closed when we came, appreciate it very much!

Beautiful building. Delicious food in hearty portions at high prices suited for tourists and event attendees at Bethel Woods. I had a veggie burger($ 10) and asked to sub avocado for tomato — not an option, unless I wanted to pay an extra dollar. They do have great beer selection. Small indoor space, great ambiance and décor/decorations to fit the theme and area.

Came back here just for drinks and the festival. The distillery is open, we tried their bourbon(bourbon is only bourbon in Kentucky), it was smooth and complex. Really awesome. The service was better this time. There were tons of people outside… It was great. They’ve totally found their groove. It’s great!
