My wife and I just moved into the area. We were hoping there would be more mom and pop stores in the area but there is not.
This place has a great concept and even better food. I got the chili cheese fries and we’re not my favorite but to each their own. My wife and father loves their food. Dad got the mushroom and swiss burger, wife got the mashed potatoes and they were actually homemade. We will try their breakfast soon. Has to be better than my wife’s cooking. :-)

Wonderful, home-​made meals! I had the pan-​fried chicken and it was delicious — it came with homemade mashed potatoes and homemade creamed corn (made that morning, according to our server.)
Speaking of our server, she did a great job of making us feel at home and well cared for without hovering. The owner even came over and answered our question about the Grant Memorial building there in town.

We stopped in for their roast beef dinner & it wasn’t bad. Actually they would have received a 4 star rating had it not been for the gravy. Everything was homemade quality reminding u of the olé’ Blue Haven I just wish they would have either omitted the gravy or also made that from scratch. It was salty & thick like a canned gravy. Would I go again? Yes, just w/​o gravy. Very nice service & pleasant homey atmosphere.
