Well if you want to understand the nuances of boxed wine, this is the place for you. Overpriced poor selection

Nutmeg has been in business for the quite the number of years, even before the Caraluzzi family took it over. I’m very ecstatic to see such an awesome selection of beer, wine, and alcohols located right in downtown Bethel. You can find a wine for even the most extravagant wine connoisseurs like myself. After living in Sicily for three years, I am very very very particular about my wine. I lean greatly towards Sicilian wines and the wineries that were nearby to where I lived. I was very happy to see about four or five different wines(both red and white) from the area that I had experienced in Sicily. On top of that, the wines were right around the same price as I could buy them in Sicily and that alone puts Nutmeg on the top of my list when I want to buy wine. I had only stopped in here rather quickly, and I did not get a chance to check out the selection of ciders. I’m not a big beer drinker, but I do love my cider. If the cider selection is as broad as the wine selection, Nutmeg will be my one stop shop whenever I am in the area.

Nutmeg is an all around great wine, beer and spirits superstore in a convenient location. Parking is always available, the selection is fantastic and the staff is friendly and helpful. Impressive selection of microbrews and imported beers from all around the globe. The employee who orders all the beer is an awesome guy and knows his stuff, if there’s something you’re looking for that they don’t have, be sure to ask for John. Theres a section of 24 and 30 packs, but they are warm. To get cold ones, go into the walk-in cooler just to the right of the 6&12 packs. They also sell quarter and half kegs, but It’s been a few years since I’ve purchased one so I can’t say if the prices are still moderate. Large selection of wine, organized by region. They also have a wine expert usually in the circular counter located right in the center of the store. Until recently, I haven’t been a very big wine person so I can’t say too much more, but I’ve heard it’s quite a good collection, with average to above-average prices. Again, great selection of liquor as well. Prices aren’t the cheapest around, I’ve found better deals in smaller stores in the area, but they aren’t outrageous by any means. Also a section of sodas, mixers, and fruit juices that aren’t refrigerated, and another area for accessories like plastic cups, wine openers and the like. Nutmeg is a Caraluzzi’s owned store, so for the occasional specials, check the Caraluzzi’s mailers. Overall it’s a solid one-stop shop for everything booze. Plenty of items, convenient location, and great staff. The prices are slightly above average, but I like to think I’m paying for the convenience and selection.
