A cute little place which is an ideal spot for you to sit down and catch up with couple of old friends. They have good quality coffee. Clean and organized. Reasonable price.

This place knows it’s stuff. All of our nerdy questions were answered smartly. Go here for coffee and a little education.

I went in, expecting it to be a small coffee shop but instead it was something much more special. It’s a family run business where they buy their coffee beans from small farms and doing the roasting themselves! Maybe I’m easy to please and easily entertained, but I delighted in hearing about all the different kinds of coffee, small coffee growers in exotic countries, how the crops vary every year, etc. The girl, whose name escapes me but I believe other reviewers call her Kaitlyn, is very knowledgeable and helpful. I told her about a type of coffee that The Thanksgiving Coffee Company used to have called Bat Magic and she is the only person who’s ever been able to explain why this coffee literally disappeared, and she was gracious enough to suggest something similar. She suggested a GORGEOUS Guatemalan coffee, that unfortunately was no Bat Magic, but is still unbelievably good! I can’t wait to go back and try some more. I’d also like to mention that the ½ lb. bag that I got from Redding Roasters lasted me at least a week, so that’s probably the best route to go if you’re a fan of sampling new stuff before settling on a favorite. I’d also like to stress once more that this is NOT a traditional coffee shop, because it was a bit of a shock to my system when I visited. You can’t walk in and order up a Mocha Chocalatta Yaya like at Starbucks or Dunkin, but you CAN walk in, look at the list of coffees, try a cup from the complimentary coffee pot, and buy a bag of whatever kind of coffee your heart desires and brew it up whenever and wherever you like, which is pretty nice too!

This is a hidden gem in downtown Bethel. I recommend RR to all my fellow coffee addicts when they’re looking for a great local roaster. From the first time I walked in there, I was sold! The young lady working there really knew her stuff, and I really enjoyed listening to her recommendations. Great coffee, knowledgeable staff, just an all-around cool place to go. Two enthusiastic !

I wanted to clarify a few things I just read in previous reviews: while I appreciate that this is a family run business, please keep the fact correct. One person said that Bill is the owner. Unfortunately, Bill, the owner and original roaster, passed away a few years ago. It is run by his daughter. Also, they say he ran it for 10 years before she took over… according to an article I just read about RR, he was only in business between 6 – 8 years before he passed. Local is great. I love that about RR. FAmily run is great. Love that too! Just want to keep the facts correct. Anyway, onto my updated review. I keep seeing RR in the stores and all the great reviews Went back again to check it out. Again, the coffee left me wanting something more. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t worth 5 stars. The beans were definitely over roasted, very dark with a lot of shine(oil). So, 2nd pound of beans and I’m underwhelmed. I think maybe this area of CT is full of starbucks and dunkin donuts, so fresh well roasted beans are rare. Compared to SB and DD, they ARE excellent. I guess I just felt like I should be getting more for $ 14. I have an excellent grinder and use a french press. I will try again(mainly because I would really really like to fall in love with this company so I can have them as my go-to coffee place). Let’s hope the third time is the charm!

This isn’t a coffee house this place sells the coffee they roast by the pound in whole bean or fresh ground for you. Great coffee and great knowledgeable people. Bill was a great guy and I miss him but his daughter and the crew have really been carrying on his high standards. They usually have a few pots so you can try their stuff which is all roasted in house. There is always a variety of types and roasts to suit just about any taste and they often feature some really special stuff if you are looking to splurge. Its also so fresh and smells so good you may just make a cup when you get home.

I love coffee, and the coffee from here is simply the best. Fresh, small batch, great selection and properly roasted… unlike any coffee I’ve had, you can actually taste the nuance in the bean. Get yourself a burr Bodum grinder and an industrial grade drip maker that can reach 200 degrees and have you first cup of coffee, ever. It’s that good. Note: Bill, the owner, is a straightforward guy who knows his coffee and knows his craft and he sells the best, so he doesn’t need seating or lattes or mirrors so you can admire yourself, just the best coffee on the planet. Can’t get there? Mail order!

Exceptional coffee roasters. I compared with a California roasting company that was nationally known… Redding won hands down! Go local… Realize excellence is nearby.

Redding Roasters are amazing! Great coffee, I mean, GREAT coffee, worth waking up for coffee. Better then any chain or supermarket brand. The only thing that compares to the coffee is the family and staff that run the shop. Always friendly, good with a recommendation and makes you feel welcome. If you are in, near or can drive — go to Bethel and get there!

I have been a fan and customer of Redding Roasters for 5 years. Besides being the best fresh roasted coffee seller in the area, their attention to personalized customer service is unparalleled. I prefer a 50 – 50 blend of Kona & Kenya beans. Kaitlyn is excellent at letting me know when the latest roast is ready for purchase. She won’t sell it to you the same day she roasts it. She lets you know when it’s ready to be brought home and brewed. And she grinds it fresh in front of you to your specifications — Whether you use an automatic drip coffeemaker or a Melitta, paper filter, cloth filter, etc. Kaitlyn and her husband learned their craft from Kaitlyn’s father, who ran Redding Roasters for more than 10 years before they took it over. They have kept the same high standards of bean selection and roasting techniques. I will never, ever buy my coffee anywhere else.

Redding Roasters is one of my favorite places to go each weekend. It is a family run business that treats their customers like family as well! They roast all their own coffee with beans from exotic places all over the world. When you go in you will be punched in the face with the most amazing coffee smells. They almost always have piping hot free coffee to try yourself and will even show you where all the magic happens if you ask for a little tour. They will also grind your coffee for you which is nice. One warning though– Starbucks and Dunkies may not cut it anymore :)
