stopped in after work in search of a great cut, and Miguel turned out the best freehand flat top I have ever had… meticulous work!

This is a legit old school barbershop that’s warm and welcoming. I needed to get my beard trimmed and I walked in for the first time today. Miguel, a 30 year veteran, sat me right away and was a delight to chat with. He has a calming demeanor which is especially key during a straight razor shave. I got a great trim and shave, felt like a new man. Go see Miguel, you won’t be disappointed!

Great haircut, great price, friendly service A colleague told me about Bethesda Barbershop and I’m glad he did. You get a great, no-nonsense haircut, for $ 20, from a barber who makes you feel welcome. If you’re looking for hipster bi-level razor cuts etc, look elsewhere. But for a high – quality regular-guy haircut, this place can’t be beat.

Nothing really earth shattering to add with my review, other than to agree with the previous reviews. I have a pretty standard cut– a military style high and tight that isn’t as tight as it once was. It’s a husbandwife team, and I’ve been given fantastic cuts from both. The straight razor neck cleanup with shaving cream is also great. I’ve yet to get a bad cut, or ask to have them blend the sides in more, cut more off of the top, etc. Pleasant banter, no frills, great price, and relatively short wait, depending on the day/time you go. Parking is tight– they have a small lot, and of course meters around the area– but has never been an issue. I currently live in Philly, and come home to DC on the weekends, and still head up to Bethesda for my monthly cut. That probably says it all.

Don’t let the word Bethesda throw you off. This is just a real, down home barber shop. Nothing fancy. It doesn’t have Field and Stream on the tables but it has a lot of National Geographic and old Newsweek magazines. The bottom line is that they give you a good cut and(for me) a good beard trim with pleasant conversation at a reasonable price. I’ve been coming here regularly for years. Every now and then I track down a high priced«boutique» stylist and spend lots of money but this place does as well or better. It’s rarely super busy when I show up which is mostly during the week in the middle of the day so I can get in and out. The only downside is parking but, hey, this is Bethesda and parking is an issue anywhere. There are about 4 free spots on the side of the building if you can grab one of them. Otherwise you may have to bootleg a place in the Giant parking lot on the corner. No big deal. Definitely two thumbs up.

I am female, and have thick wavy, curly hair. Over the last 15 years, I have gone to this barbershop after hair disasters ie bad cuts, bad dye jobs. Far superior to 95% of Salons, and the hair cuttery. Never in 15 years have I gotten a bad haircut. I am always very pleased with the results. Recently, Harriet cut my hair. I am overjoyed with the outcome. I have a beautiful edgy style part twiggy, part shag. Because I like my hair 3.5 inches long, because I just wash and go or put some gel in for the ringlets to hold. It was $ 18, in 2009 dollars, which is really $ 9 in 2006 dollars. This cut will last about 6 weeks so I am quite happy with it. I call it my recession haircut.
