Bethesda – Elm Garage

Montgomery County garage with reasonably priced parking. This garage is a convenient location, but with scary drivers. I’ve always been able to get a spot, but sometimes the experience is more stressful than it should be.

This garage’s patrons drive me up the wall. Imagine, the sign says there are 312 parking spaces available. And an obese donut of a person insists on waiting for a parking space right on the first level ramp, all while blocking traffic from entering the garage. Are some of these people just stupid?!
Anyway, the garage itself is fine. It’s better and more convenient than the overpriced garage next door at 4950 Elm which suffers from broken elevators way too often.
Parking enforcement is definitely present and they enforce the rules, but not in a vulture-​like manner like in DC. Basically, if your meter goes expired for 10 minutes, it’s not a big deal… just don’t leave it for an hour!

I’ve had some fun times driving (slowly) up and down this garage, looking for a spot. One time I found a spot on the way down; another time I wasn’t so lucky. There’s a reason why Silver Spring is called «Bethesda with parking.»
