Cava is soooo good(I’m singing while writing this). I dream about their harissa and drool over it at Whole Foods every time I’m there(Cava sells their dips at WF!). It’s fast casual, so it doesn’t taste like authentic Mediterranean food — it’s in a yummy category all its own. A part of me dies a little any time someone tells me they like Roti better. Cava is better! Have you had the Roti rice? It’s so bad. One thing — totally don’t get the crazy feta craze. There is feta at the end of the line, so why waste my spread options on it? Peace, love, harissa.

Love the freshness of all ingredients and the tastiness of dips and spreads. The Basmati rice is light and fluffy. I have fun doing mix and match of all these meat and dips and toppings! Love it!

Decent food, but NOTHING is labeled. So you watch person after person go to each station and ask what each thing is in the containers and listen to the employee repeat it over and over. I asked the first person why the items at her station were not labeled and she unfortunately didn’t speak enough English to understand. The next guy did speak English and said that’s what he was there for. The info is a little confusingly organized on paper menus and to a limited extent overhead, but customers like to make decisions based on what they see in front of them.

HOOKED! This place is fire! Can’t believe I haven’t gone sooner. Make your own bowl/pita/salad Mediterranean style restaurant. Literally every food option they have is perfect and on point. And their juice bar is amazing too. My fav is the Kale Apple Cucumber Ginger Lemon juice! My go to bowl: Baby spinach, harissa, red pepper hummus, tzatziki, falafel(SO good!!), grilled chicken, pickled onion, cucumber, crumbled feta and lemon herb tahini dressing. Also there pumpkin seed molasses cookie and chocolate chip cookie are soft, moist and delicious! Clean establishment, friendly staff & cool interior!

As a millenial who has grown up in DC, Cava beats out even Chipotle for my fast food chain of choice. It’s the same assembly-line type set-up as Subway, Sweetgreen, and other«make it your way» chains. You start by selecting the vehicle for your meal: pitas, a rice bowl, or salad greens. You then choose the protein(chicken, lamb, falafel) and spreads(I usually go with the crazy feta, roasted red pepper hummus, and tzatiki). Finally, you choose additional add-ons(mostly veggies) and a dressing. It’s delicious,(reasonably) nutritious, and pretty unique! I believe they also do brunch, which, given my love for brunch and Cava, cannot be anything but wonderful.

Absolutely amazing and so delicious. I think it is the best Greek /Mediterranean food I have ever had. So great I think it’s so fresh and everyone is so nice.

Great food, the staff is friendly and helpful. Spicy lamb and quinoa are amazingly good. Fast, great food, reasonably priced — huge thumbs up

Love this place. So fresh, so flavorful and so affordable. It’s my new go-to salad spot. Just be careful with all the additions, I thought I was eating healthy then I used their calorie calculator and realized my salad was over 900 calories… Ummmm… time to change up my choices. :) Everything is really delicious.

I fell in love with this place my first time here last summer. With such a positive experience from the food to the helpful staff, I decided to come back again since I was in town. This visit, I got a white rice bowl with tzatziki, red pepper hummus, crazy feta, chicken, pita chips, tomato + onion, lettuce, and lemon herb tahini. The flavors just didn’t work out for me this time. The chicken was also pretty dry. I felt disappointed after my first bite and dreaded each bite afterwards. I usually don’t throw out leftovers, but this wasn’t worth saving for later. The staff was really pushy due to the lunch rush, which added to the disappointment of my experience.

You can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a Ford Motor food assembly line restaurant in Bethesda Row(Cava, Sweetgreens, Chop’t, Shophouse, some new Italian place and I’m sure others). They have all latched on to the Chipolte formula of fresh food prepared to order in a bowl. I love it. Cava is the best of them, though. Similar to other franchise locations, you have a selection of greens and grains, several meat choices and plenty of veggies and dressings to choose from. I really like the unique selection at Cava, though, and that they don’t limit you on the toppings. You can put as many things on as you want and you can also split your meat into a couple different options if you want to try new things. What I don’t like is that nothing is labeled other than the greens. So you really need to pick up one of the small printed menus to know what your options are. They will help if you ask, but being an assembly line you are of course slowing up the people behind you if you ask too many questions! Great food, full bowls, lots of beverage options, and they have beer. Always a winner.

Wow, I do not know how or what to say but a good wOw. For some one who is very picky in what goes into my mouth to my stomach this is a place I will always eat and not think twice that I am out. The stuff are very polite and helpful and the food is like I said, WOWGOOD. It is affordable so don’t worry about the price just go eat.

Think of this as a Greek version of Chipotle(assembly line, mix-and-match, made as you order). Except fresher, more flavorful, and with ten times the options. Oh, and better. The food is so good, it’s hard not to love. It’s inexpensive with a trendy vibe, and your food is ready in minutes. For indecisive, picky, or adventurous eaters, Cava Mezze is perfect — there are endless options, from spicy to savory to veggie-filled, and more. The falafel, hummus, and chicken tasted fresh and seasoned, but I’m eager to try the other options soon. Ever been with a friend/girlfriend who can’t decide where they want to eat, but somehow don’t like any of the options you picked?(Guilty as charged.) Try this place.

As other reviewers mentioned, it’s a Chipotle style setup, but the food is great. This location gets busy at lunch time, but they keep the line moving fast. I highly recommend the hummus and crazy feta. It’s not expensive either, about $ 10 for a good amount of food. Also pretty healthy as well. I love the drink options, too. I got the vanilla bean lemonade(delicious), but there were several others I’d like to try. Definitely a nice change from the typical soda options. I’m sure I’ll be here often now that my office has moved 2 blocks away.

I love going here for a quick bite. It’s cheap, it’s flavorful, it’s local, and it’s fast. My fave combo(and I’ve tried out plenty): Pita minis(it doesn’t look like a lot of food but then I’m always stuffed at the end) Harissa(my favorite thing in the whole restaurant) and tzatziki sauce Chicken Diced cucumber and pickled(pink) onions Tahini sauce on top Amazing!!! I’m a creature of habit but I’m never disappointed! I’ve started mixing the strawberry ginger juice with the vanilla lime and it’s also phenomenal. Love the location and love this place!

Review #70! Cava Mezze Grill, how I love you so. The new trend of chipotle style, assembly line ordering is all the craze right now! &pizza does it too and I can see why this method is so appealing for businesses and customers alike. Long line? No worries! If you ever been in a long chipotle line that’s out the door, you know that the line goes rather fast. Another good thing is that you can make your own food, so no complaining! When you first get to the ordering line you have to at least prepare yourself for a bowl, salad, large or two mini pitas. I think there are other base options but these are the only ones I remember off the top of my head. Then you add in the dips/spreads such as(pick 3) hummus, eggplant, roasted hummus, tzatziki, etc. Then you add your protein(pick one): chicken, meatballs, braised beef, lamb, falafel. Following that are a bunch of different toppings that are unlimited. Finally you top off with dressing. I’m not actually a big fan of chipotle but love Mediterranean style food so Cava hits the spot! Definitely a great place to grab some tasty food while somewhat making it healthy. I double heart you Cava Mezze Grill! You complete me! The Good: — chipotle style line makes it go fast — awesome ingredients, can’t go wrong with anything you add — my favs are the hummus, roasted hummus and eggplant for dips. I go with the tomato and cucumber, cabbage slaw and any of the dressings work well. — drinks are pretty good, I like the mango kale The Bad: — not necessarily bad but I don’t care for the location

I’ve never heard of this place. But, think of Chipotle(many of you have had the chain Chipotle right?!) with a Mediterranean twist. When its busy, you may feel rushed and overwhelmed because thats how I felt. Jump right in and just do it like Nike! Several different varieties of greens you can choose from, two different grains, several different hummus and sauces, several different other veggie mixes, and multiple meats to choose from. Whew, I got through it and enjoyed what was created. I can’t complain that it was busy, its probably busy Because the place is Awesome! I thought I was a genius! Everyone and their mothers commented that this place is like a mediterranean chipotle. My bad for thinking I’m smarter than y’all, clearly I’m just arrogant. –____-‘ Anyways…Definitely coming back. What I had: *greens+grains bowl — Saw the variety of greens, told the dude to give me a little of everything. Grains, brown rice. *Spicy hummus(I think thats what it was, there were 6 or 8 choices, I went with the one that looked spicy) * double chicken for meat * several different diced veggie toppings to choose from… I chose diced tomatoes, cucumbers and onions. *pickled onion *olives *Quinoa *pita on the side *Stella Artois to drink ~$ 9 for the bowl + ~$ 2 for extra meat + ~$ 5 for the Stella +tax ~$ 18

Like Tiffany, I also call Cava the Greek version of Chipotle. I love Chipotle, but it’s nice to have a bit of variety of Chipotle style places. Cava has a lot of choices but it’s not too overwhelming. My favorites are the red pepper hummus and tzatziki. There are options for pita, a rice bowl, or a salad bowl just like Chipotle. I’ve gotten the rice bowl so far and been very happy with that choice. The chicken has also been great. Everything is fresh and delicious. So many great vegetables! Can’t go wrong here.

I love Cava. I’ve tried all their proteins with my super greens and am a huge fan of their spicy feta and hummus. I’ve been way too many times to count and I’ll be back for more.

Cava is right across from my new office so I decided to meet a friend there a give it a try. We only had an hour to catch up and meeting at noon on a weekday was a HUGE mistake. The line was literally out the door. The food was good. You can get a salad, rice, or pita. Not knowing what I was doing, I ordered the pita with all the fixings and it was good(though the pita didn’t hold it all so it was super messy to eat). Overall good experience, but two things to note: 1) If it’s your first time, it can be an intimidating experience. There weren’t any menus or explanation of ordering and the line goes fast not making it friendly to new comers. 2) There aren’t many private tables for two and the noise level is not friendly to a private conversation. If you want to catch up with a friend, go to Shophouse next door.
