The Dry Dock is an impossibly small store that is located inside of the Walter Reed Naval Medical Center. It carries SO much for it being such a small store. Every type of candy bar/candy you can imagine. Approximately 70 varieties of chips, and a host of greeting cards, and also small toiletries. Since getting on and off base makes you want to play everyone’s least favorite game: Wall V. Head; tiny stores like this get a lot of business. It is right next to the Subway, which line at the door is the clearest evidence of the base’s access problem. Further proving my suspicion that Subway is only eaten in extreme circumstances. I also know that some of the employees are adults in a specialized vocation program– which is amazing that the store’s ownership and management participates in this. The manager is one of the kindest people you’ve ever met and if my base ID was still valid, I’d go out of my way to shop here. A store proving that bigger is not always better.
