On 5/28, our company took a trip from DC to Baltimore. Midway thru, the AC stopped working on the bus, so we cracked the emergency rooftop and endured the heat for the rest of the ride. One the way back, the same thing occurred. It became so intolerable, that once we arrived in DC, a few employees hopped off at the nearest light to take the metro the rest of the way back. For whatever reason, the AC worked while the bus sat still/boarding, but when in motion blew out warm air. Our staff and the bus driver were literally drenched in sweat by the time we arrived back at the office. The poor bus driver apologized profusely, but we didn’t blame her, I mean, what could she have done? We contacted Uptown via phone on 5⁄28 and 6⁄1 and 6⁄16 and emailed them 6/2, 6⁄16 and 7⁄8 regarding the issue. Each time we either got a «not available» or rude hangups. 2 months later, it got to the point of the CEO calling only to be hung up on again and for us to receive an email stating«If AC was not functioning at all, as you claim, how did 25 pass tolerate a 90 degree heat(exterior temperature) for over 1.5 hours each way?»(signed«management») Um, no name«manager» were we supposed to hop off on 695 and walk back? We had no other choice but to tolerate the drive! Let’s be clear — we spent nearly $ 600 on this rental. We’re also a business. And the CEO made direct communication. If this small/family owned business(it seems like only Tony and Tina run the show) could blatantly disregard our issue for 2 months and then disrespect the CEO, you do NOT want to give them your commercial or personal business! Stay far away. We literally had pictures of us drenched in sweat and the email proof of communications between us and them. In the end, we should’ve been reimbursed for more than an hour of time. AVOIDATALLCOSTS and book another company with years of service that’s backed by customer satisfaction. Their rentals are«cheap» for a reason.
