I feel like this complex is a well-kept secret in Bethlehem. Or maybe not — there is a waiting list for their 2 and 3 bedroom townhouses. The location is idyllic — Bridle Path Rd. is quiet and lined with very respectable(i.e. very expensive) real estate on one side, and an open cornfield on the other. The apartments sit across the road from the St. Francis Center for Renewal which is generally quiet unless there’s a large retreat occurring there. The Monocacy runs along the base of the complex but you’re essentially up on a hill above the Monocacy, so there’s no concerns for flooding. And yes, the Monocacy really loves to flood(especially during 2011), but there’s no concern for the properties here. Pricing is in the low $ 900s /month for single apartments up to $ 1300 /month for the largest townhouses. Apartments include heat; townhouses do not. Maintenance is quick to respond and the community manager is very friendly and accomodating. The property is managed(overall) by Kriegman & Smith, who also owns and manages several other properties in the Bethlehem area. So far they’ve been easy to deal with in regards to payments and lease agreements. The units feature modern appliances and for the most part, fairly modern décor. Some of the kitchens have some outdated cabinetry, but it’s being gradually upgraded. Some units also offer Pergo flooring in the kitchen and dining areas, which is a nice touch. A lot of the décor really depends on the unit. Every unit has a sliding glass door and patio. There’s also a well-kept pool and picnic area for use by all residents. The only real downside to some of the units that I found firsthand is noise. I rented one of the 1BR units for one year and had considerable amounts of noise from the upstairs unit. This was just«everyday» noise of walking around and general living. Unfortunately I could hear virtually everything. And the upstairs neighbor turned out to be a real jerk, but that’s neither here nor there. If you’re looking for a nice townhouse, in a nice neighborhood, at a reasonable montly rent, THIS is your place. I’ve toured the other offerings in the Bethlehem area and was disappointed. Now having lived in a BPW townhouse(as well as an apartment beforehand) I’m very pleased and would recommend to others.
