I’ve never really loved going to the gym and I still don’t, but I really love liven up! I wouldn’t call it a gym like any other I’ve been to. The whole environment is so positive and I never feel like I’m out of place. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The trainers really focus on each member and work toward their individual goals including covering any speed bumps along the way.

One word to describe the staff, the facility, their clients and the environment … PHENOMENAL! I’ve had my fair share of gym memberships in the valley(never really took any too seriously) and around October of last year I’d finally made the conscious decision to completely change my lifestyle; committing to eating better and feeling better & this place has everything I need in order to progress in life. My point is, no other gym facility compares to this place as they motivate you as well to keep pushing for a better lived life. Chris Whitney and Andi are such positive souls. The minute you walk into Liven Up you’re just smacked in the face with good energy, making it difficult to not want to go back. I’ve only been a member for about a month now(did the trial and signed up with no hesitation) but, I can feel and see change within myself already! Before making my for-sure decision on signing up I did check out another gym around that way called«Full Circle Training» or something like that and … well … let’s just say I’m happy I did check that place out considering it made my decision making that much easier, everything about Liven Up is just great. Definitely can’t find that anywhere else. Now, on to the workouts themselves. Their focus, although they do have program designs they set up for individuals if unable to make it to a class from time to time, I believe, is on group fitness; not the hip hop abs, dance cardio, cha cha cha type of deal but, using weights, kettle bells, medicine balls, ropes, your own body weight, etc. for a kick ass workout. Every workout is full of high energy, high intensity and focuses on your body entirely. I’m probably sore everyday; the«hell yeah I did an awesome job» type of sore that everyone longs for in order to feel accomplished. Your best bet is to sign up for the 30 day trial, which is only 49 $, and by the end of it if you don’t sign up the only problem that needs to be addressed is your drive . Sincerely, a completely satisfied member.

I spoke too soon on a 5 star review. In the past few months the gym has made some major changes, some good, some not so great. I initially joined this gym as it offered a squat rack, bench, and pretty large selection of machines and free weights. The gym has since removed the squat rack and incline/standard benches(and kept the Smith machine… dear god WHY!?). The free weight and machine area has been compressed to allow for a functional fitness rack. In theory, it’s great — a large open rack with several attachments to place barbells. This would allow 3 – 4 people to squat and deadlift simultaneously, right? Kind of. As someone who’s gotten used to squatting in a rack or power cage, this rack offers no rails for squatting to failure. In order to bench you need to drag one of two flat benches over and figure out where to set the pins(no numbering, so I hope you have good eyes). The open area in which the squat rack once stood is now taken up by open space and some of those step things. I want to be nice and like this place. The facility is incredibly clean, the owners and staff are friendly and helpful, but the direction they’re taking the facility(functional fitness) isn’t my thing. I tried the classes. It just affirmed I’m really not into group fitness and enjoy being a complete introvert while lifting or running. In the few times I’ve come in to lift since they made all the changes I’ve left disappointed. Reality is — I’m a fuddy-duddy that likes having a squat rack, a bench, and old school equipment. I’m sure this new stuff is really great for some people, but I don’t care for it. The standard rate per month has also increased to $ 59 from the $ 39 at the time of opening. If you’re really into classes, want custom designed plans, and want Crossift-esque fitness without the price tag, this place would be ideal for you. If you want to use a basic facility to lift, especially barbells, and you have been lifting a while, look elsewhere. Sorry guys, I won’t be renewing.

This gym is awesome! Not your run of the mill fitness facility. It is clean, has a full selection of machines and most of all, a great staff that make you feel so comfortable and confident! I joined with my 13 yr old daughter that has no gym experience and she is feeling very comfortable with the experience. The classes are different and fun and really seem to fly by. I definitely recommend this gym!
