The Bar With No Name

Dj is bad does not take requests. He thinks he is in NYC. This is Lehigh valley, cater to those with class and money. Enforce a dress code … Ladies have some class.

The DJ is good … nice dance floor … overall a good time!

My friend and I went here to catch up over a drink because we figured on a Friday night, we could go here and still have a conversation without all the rowdiness of the other Valley bars.
First of all, I had no voice and ringing ears after staying for only an hour. The music is too loud. Crowd was fine. Service was typical of the area. Drinks were fine.
Here’s where the one star rating comes into play:
I opened a tab, thinking that it would be a cheap night since my friend and I weren’t out to get drunk– we just wanted to grab a drink or two and head home. The bartender told me that there was a $ 20 minimum, which was fine. We spent about $ 25 and left about an hour later.
I normally don’t go online to check my bank statements, but I wanted to make a transfer and just glanced over my statement. Two charges from The Bar With No Name, one for the $ 25 spent and one for $ 50. Why one for $ 50?
I called and the woman explained that «It’s an authorization charge to be sure you have enough money in your account. It’ll be back in your account in 10 business days». First of all, no one told me anything about this «authorization charge». Second of all, I have ran tabs in numerous bars (and worked in one) and have never heard of this «so-​called» authorization charge. So my $ 25 night has turned into a $ 75 night for the next 10 days (or until they decide to put the $ 50 back into my account).
I called my bank, who also agreed that was an unauthorized charge and it was immediately cancelled on my bank’s end. I also will not be back to run anymore tabs, or even visit, Bar With No Name because of this. If I were you, I’d check your accounts and spend your night out somewhere that isn’t going to charge you $ 50 for 10 days because you decided to patronize their establishment.
Point blank: Taking money out of my account without telling me– to me (and my bank) that’s theft, whether or not you put it back or not. Would I have been OK with a $ 50 charge to be sure that my tab got paid? Probably not– but it should have at least been told to me.

The BAR WITH NO NAME inside the best western hotel is an entertainment whirlwind. We saw a live band, PAs own The Nick of Time band, perform for a full crowd rock and roll, dance music and the rocked the place. A dj followed for a younger crowd. Great stage area for the band. So much fun! TIP: Men need a shirt with a collar to get in. Check their webpage for the dress code before you go.

Did not even go in… a cover charge of $ 3.00 each for what appeared to be loud music, booze and a limited menu, went next door to The Red Zone

This my first impression. …
Needing to fulfil my craving to dance I decided to stop by. The place has a great selection of music to dance to. Great people inside the place and the crowd knows how to have fun. People are always having a good time on the dance floor. If your younger like me (21) the place is filled with an older crowd. Your not going to find a bunch of 21, 22, 23 year olds in the place, however you will see a decent blend of all ages.
By luck, there was a little people convention (midgets) going on in the area and several of them stopped in. Talk about people who know how to have a good time! Definitely, made my expeience much better.
I would recommend The Bar With No Name to anyone.
