My first time at a Whitey’s. No hesitation giving Whitey’s a five star review. Very hard working, polite, young people behind the counter willing to let me sample as many favors as I wanted before I decided. The ice cream is the best. So many favors to choose from that we came back the next day to have more. I had never heard of Whitey’s before and will definitely be back when I am in the Quad Cities again.

I havn’t been to this location as much as I’ve been to the one in Moline, but it’s the same story. Great ice cream, always busy. The workers are going as fast as they can, it’s just always a crowd.

I always heard about Whitey’s from my parents as a kid — they went to college in the quad cities and Whitey’s(a different location) was a big part of their experience. I’m so glad I got to go to a Whitey’s with my Dad and share his memories and taste some fabulous ice cream. According to my Dad, the thing to get is the shake,(which is really more of a «concrete» or «blizzard» for those more familiar with Culver’s or Dairy Queen nomenclature), and I couldn’t agree more. Creamy and sweet without being saccharine, and definitely not watered down. I’d come back any day!

Ice cream, shakes and malts are great, no mistake. However, because they have a drive thru as well as inside service, when they are busy, the inside line seems to be second to the outside drive thru. I waited in line a ridiculous long time on a Tuesday night! I recommend a Whiteys without a drive thru.

Best ice cream in the Midwest. Favorite flavors: watermelon sherbet, salted caramel and cotton candy.

Great place to stop and get a cone! I love the chocolate chip cookie dough. It is staffed by the typical high school crowd but they are very polite. I would highly suggest trying this place, especially if you have children with you. Just be warned it can be pricy!

First time going to Whitey’s and I was very impressed! Speed, flavor and service! I’m from Colorado and was visiting family in Iowa and was wowed especially by the cheery interaction provided by Kiara. I would recommend this to anyone near one of these establishments!

Yep… still the best ice cream around! After living in Chicago for over 3 years, still nothing compares! Whether you are getting a freshly made frozen yogurt or buying a half gallon to go, this is the best ice cream around. My personal favorite is the shake. They have so many flavors to choose from, you can’t go wrong! They have tons of different flavors of ice cream to choose from(everything is made locally), bostons, floats, shakes and malts, cones, smoothies, frozen yogurt, splits, bars, you name it! There is literally something for everyone here. Shakes are mixed by hand(so glad they finally have smalls now), and the seasonal flavors are the best! No one makes a Pumpkin shake like this place! The service is friendly and fast. Not to mention the drive through(definite perk). If you are coming through the area, this is a must stop!

Best ice-cream, hands down. My favorite is white tiger paw… I get it almost every time! They’re shakes and malts are amazing, as well. They have several locations in the Quad Cities, and one I know of in Iowa City. If we had one in town, I’d get this over DQ, any day.

Stopped by Whitey’s for the first time in many years. Moved away, but never forgot Whitey’s. Its the place where you get a milk shake and can turn it upside down and it could take an hour to ever start to leave the cup. So thick and creamy. Whitey’s has charm. It is a definite stop whenever you come to the Quad Cities. Don’t ever change a thing!

It is a damn good thing that they don’t have a Whitey’s back in my town. Because after the uproar the name would cause, I would gain a pound a day!!! They make their stuff with real candy bars and whatnot. Crush em up right in front of you. She had a heath sundae, I had a malt with a fudge sundae on top. They have a name for it, however, I forgot it in my dopamine induced coma. Mmmmmm Whitey’s…

I had high expectations for this place and I hate to say it, but their ice cream isn’t amazing. I could probably get more bang for my buck elsewhere(idk bout elsewhere in the quad cities though). It was very crowded, but they seemed pretty efficient. Kind of all over the place though… I had 2 scoops of ice cream. ended up getting Moose Tracks and Sgt. Camo. They weren’t nearly as amazing as I hoped. The Ice cream wasn’t creamy enough. I had a taste of their shakes though and those were pretty good. My favorite one I tried was the strawberry with chocolate mix ins. That was pretty tasty1 Overall, I would probably go again if I went to the quad cities, but I wouldn’t make a trip out there just for Whitey’s.

Lots of flavor varieties, Lots of choices of how you want your ice cream put together(i.e. shake, sundae, shake w/a sundae on top, etc… Toppings, mix-ins, you name it…). Very generous scoops. My only criticism is it might have been cool if there had been a touch more seating… but I guess the charm of this place isn’t about staying to eat your ice cream… heck, there seemed to be more people in the drive-thru than the inside of the store.

The best ice cream I have ever had in my life kinda a thing. If you are near a Whitey’s just go and try it. If they have the pumpkin, get it for me and enjoy. They have so many flavors you will go nuts, and yes if they are not slammed they let you try every one of them. They have malts, shakes, cones, waffle cones, sandwiches… The list goes on. The teenagers are wearing white and red, and they look like they belong in the 50’s, as do most of the locations. But that is the charm. It is a great place to go and just enjoy a scoop or three and hang out with friends. My wife and I truly enjoy the experience in each bite and should you decide to try all the flavors, bring a coffee, as you will get a cold headache. But they you can say you tried all ” ??” flavors…

If you are in Iowa and want a delicious milkshake/malt, go to Whiteys. I’ve been a few times during my visits to the QC. One of the best malts I’ve had with a large variety of flavors.
