The server was very fast on acknowledging us when we first entered the restaurant. My friend and I ordered the broasted chicken dinner. First, you receive your coleslaw which had a good taste to it. You can save it with your meal but I ate it first while waiting for our entrée. We ordered the all white meat for the chicken which all you have to do is ask when you order. The chicken came with roasted potatoes with sour cream, and a dinner roll. The whole meal was great! The best part was the waitress that we had during our dinner. She was able to visit with us while still providing us with great customer service. She made our visit great and adding an enjoyable dinner was an added bonus. Yes, the building is a little outdated but this is the place you come for the food. We will be back when we are hungry for roasted chicken.

Seems like more of a locals bar than restaurant. Pizza was ok. Got the supreme or whatever they call it. The sausage was dried up. The pizza wasn’t cohesive. Not much cheese. The crust was droopy and all the ingredients would fall off. May have been a bad day as it seemed better last year.

Came here for dinner. Got the smothered chicken breast. Wife got a calzone. Chicken was okay but very small. Too much melted cheese. French fries were terrible as was the bite of calzone I had. The fountain coke was decent with a solid syrup to seltzer ratio. Dinner roll that came with the chicken was the most redeeming component of the meal. It was dense and delicious. The atmosphere was perhaps the strangest of any restaurant I’ve ever dined at. There was no music and a doorbell rang everytime an order was up which created a tense vibe in the large hollow dining room. They had Jeopardy on the TV, which excited us at first, but we soon realized the subtitles and volume were both off. We couldn’t find out the correct answers! Service was mediocre. Would not dine again. Ironically, I left with the name of the restaurant.

I ate here twice in the summer of 2014; once for a sit down meal midweek In mid July and once got a takeout pizza Friday of Labor Day weekend. Both time the pizza was excellent — much much better than Pampanos at Crystal Drive and US31. The pizza pickup experience left much to be desired. At least three people in line In front of me waiting for pickup — and I think it took nearly 20 minutes, All the time knowing my pizza was getting colder on a rack somewhere in the back. They were super busy. But it very frustrating.

I’ve been eating here for the 40+ years they’ve been open. Pizza at the Hungry Tummy was tradition in Benzie County. I haven’t been there much over the past decade, but still tried it out once a year or so and had just been by a couple months back for what was, happily, a pretty good pizza. Was it as wonderful as it used to be 10 – 20 years ago? No. But it was still pretty darn good and an improvement over the hit-or-miss of the past 10 years. So tonight I boasted about Hungry Tummy pizza to someone from out-of-state and offered to buy dinner. Holy cow was I embarrassed — it was absolutely horrible. The crust was a cardboard flavorless pizza-dough fake and most certainly not their old hand-tossed. The minimal sauce wasn’t even recognizable as pizza sauce, much less the wonderful best-pizza-in-Michigan sauce of 20 years ago. And the cheese was skimpy, flavorless curd. This makes me so sad as I remember when Dad and I used to look forward to our pizza and beer dates at the Hungry Tummy with relish. I’m glad he’s not around to see what’s happened to our 30 year tradition. Last summer I thought they might be turning back around, but tonight’s visit will assure I won’t be giving them another«one more try». Like Beulah in general, this is an old favorite that just hasn’t been able to keep up. So very sad.

Food was surprisingly good, we were staying in the area and the hotel didn’t even mention this family Restaurant

While on vacation at Crystal Mountain we visited Hungry Tummy twice. The first time for lunch and second time for dinner. I have to be honest and say that the first time we almost walked out because it was completely empty and the Christmas décor was still up(my visit was in February). Service: outstanding the wait staff was very friendly and knowledgable on menu items. Food: great, tried the BBQ wings, broasted chicken, taco pizza and deep dish pizza, french dip sandwich were all great. The one thing that I didn’t like was: when my children asked for a refill on his kid soda they said that kids refills were not included. I would have preferred that the kids meal price was a bit higher, so we didn’t have to worry about silly things like this. Don’t want to end review on a negative note staff and food were great! Not a 5 star because the place looked a bit outdated.

Pretty good place for pizza. It was a bit rushed coming out of the oven, as it was near closing and it was July 4th, so fireworks weren’t far away. so it was soft in the center, but the flavors were great.

We stopped here after an afternoon playing on the public beach. There didn’t seem to be a lot open in downtown Beulah for dinner on a Friday night so everyone and their mother ended up here. We were seated at the only table open right by the bathroom. You know that scene in a movie when the characters find themselves being hit by the kitchen door in their crappy little two seater table. Well, ours was a four seater, but you get my meaning. We got to move every time someone needed to use the restroom or when the dirty dish cart, which is parked right outside the restroom, actually got taken to the kitchen. One waitress was clearly disgruntled with the hostess for giving her more tables, but the place had a wait like a five star restaurant on opening night. Most people ordered pizza from what I could tell and it looked okay. My husband got the all you can eat fish special, but our waitress barely came along after dropping off our food, so even if my husband could eat that much fried fish, he wouldn’t get it here. The food took forever and once my kiddos got their mac n cheese it was hard and dry from sitting in a hot window waiting for the rest of the food to be finished. You even have to pay if your kid wants a refill on their drink. What? Due yourself a favor, pack up the car and head up to the Cherry Bowl for an $ 8 per person double feature and some great reasonable priced pizza. The Hungry Tummy left us with growling, greasy tummies.

A great little pizza place with a varied menu and friendly service. Has a great local vibe and the pizza was delicious! Nice and light hand tossed crust with the perfect blend between thin crust and deep dish. We skipped the flavoring on the crust, but I bet it would have been great. Worth a stop if you’re up by Crystal Lake and need to nosh. One of the few places that was open in the evening.

A local place for sure. Just go in find a seat and keep to yourself. The drinks are great and the food is better. The sign on the widow reads corner pub. We sat here for a few hours enjoying the drinks and food before going to the cherry bowl for a double feature. We knew all the town gossip before we left and oddly enough it was refreshing to know that small towns where everyone knows everything and will stand behind each other still exists. We heard who the best sheriff was and what this county needs and what dusty did and who fed the goats etc. If you have the opportunity to enjoy this small town full of great people beautiful beaches that arn’t over crowded I would stop relax and enjoy this small town how I think most of America used to be.
