WOW. WOW, WOWWOW. I don’t even know what to say. I placed an order through GrubHub at 11:46. The restaurant immediately confirmed my order and estimated delivery at 12:30. I excitedly waited until 12:30, then 12:40, then 12:48… Finally, I called GrubHub and asked for an update, given that it was past my delivery time. The GrubHub representative was super nice, and called the restaurant for me. When he came back on the line, he sounded shocked and informed me that the restaurant«had no delivery drivers» and thus wouldn’t be able to fill my order. He said he asked them why they confirmed the order then, and they had no good answer. So then I called the restaurant. «Oh yeah, three minutes after we confirmed your order, we had to close.» … … … …and…you decided not to let GrubHub know? You decided not to let me know? I’ve now been waiting here for an hour and a half. «Oh, sorry.» I would strongly recommend steering very clear of this particular Asakuma location. It is clear that not only do they not care about customer service, they don’t care about their customers.

This place has been late almost every time I order from them(which is not that often). The sushi ranges from good to mediocre, but the delivery service is among the worst I have had. I would not waste my time ordering from them. You can use postmates or some other delivery service and get better sushi much faster. Also, they often tell me that the delivery is going to take much less time than it actually takes. Don’t be fooled! I will never order from Asukuma Delivery again.

One of the best Japanese Take-out in L.A. We had delivery service for Cod plate, which was so delicious, every one at the office screamed that this kind of taste existed. Since then I’ve been placing order for my co-workers and each time, they loved it. I am going to try tuna over crispy rice on my next order, which I am sure will be another surprise! Very glad I found this amazing spot.

Been eating here and the Venice and Santa Monica locations for years. While the quality of the Venice location has dropped the other two are great. The portions are generous, the food is fresh and the Spicy tuna bowl is a complete addiction.

The BEST take-out sushi in LA. They’ve been consistently great for years, and are totally worth it. The spicy tuna over crispy rice is outstanding. And the people working there are the nicest!

Wild caught salmon is amazing! Generous portions! The teriyaki sauce is perfect– not too sweet! Great tempura and high quality sushi. Definitely that hole in the wall feeling with the refrigerator sound, but it’s Oi Ocha chilling in there!!! Very authentic. Japanese sushi by Japanese chef. Lots of personality. I love this place!

Terrible sushi with even worse service. I ordered 4 rolls for delivery and paid extra for brown rice($ 1 per roll) Food came an hour later and everything was prepared with white rice. Not the end of the world. I called and said that it wasn’t a big deal for two of the rolls(my hubby ate them anyway though he said they weren’t even supermarket quality), but that I either wanted a refund or for them to deliver 2 new rolls with brown rice because I wouldn’t eat the white rice. They said they would deliver 2 new rolls within 50 minutes(we were leaving in an hour and a half and I was starving so I said ok). Over an hour later still no food. I called again. The manager or whoever said that they weren’t delivering new food or giving a refund because the food was made correctly the first time. 1) No it wasn’t 2) If you aren’t going to deliver new food, call and say so so I can order from somewhere else. Seriously don’t waste your time or money.

This is BAD. Calling it sushi is almost offensive to the Japanese culture. I got the Nigiri lunch combo. The 4 pieces of California roll are HUGE and really difficult to eat. The cuts of the fish on nigiri are terrible. Way too big, rough knife skills, messy fish prep over all. Too much rice also.

This is by far the worst sushi I have ever ever EVER had. I just had 3 Rolls delivered, each one inedible for the nasty mushy rice alone! The manager was very very nice and refunded the entire order, which is why I gave them 2 stars. I actually had to throw the entire order away. I can’t imagine they would be in business if this is how they normally make sushi. Also? The tuna roll had the teensiest amount of tuna ever. I actually laughed. I’m so sad because I’m still starving!

I just came in here for lunch and stood in the main room for several minutes and nobody came out to the register or to any of the tables. The place was empty but I took a peek at the menu anyway. It’s extremely limited with a very small range of food items. Maybe if your sign says open, have someone out front to greet customers and hand out menus.

I’ve never been here, but my office has ordered delivery from here several times. The black cod is stellar. The chirashi is the best takeout chirashi I’ve ever had on either coast, with uni, tamago, and plenty of fish and avocado. The spicy tuna rice balls are fun to split and tasty. It is really good(if expensive) sushi delivery. I’ve never had a problem with wait times or mixed up orders either.

Worst. place. ever. Messed up order, didn’t apologize, basically said that I was wrong and chef was right despite the fact that receipt clearly shows the full order and it is missing. Never using this place again.

When you are feeling super lazy, watching the games and everyone wants sushi vs. pizza this is the place to call for quick service. We ordered a variety of sushi and a few rolls everything was fresh tasting and the rolls held up.

Delivery is tough. Waited for over an hour… what, you no call, no «we’re running late». No love. So I called them, canceled and made other plans. :(Must eat now! Didn’t want to get into the kitchen tonight, but it was delish. Be well.

Pretty tasty. Fresh fish. I got the lunch combo of hand rolls(salmon, albacore, spicy tuna & tuna.) which includes a salad and miso soup. The salad was fresh and the dressing tarte. The soup was definitely more seaweed salty taste. The fish was really fresh, flavorful and melted in my mouth.

The Black Cod is amazing! Flaky and so soft it melts in your mouth. Its made with a delicate teriyaki sauce and has a crispy bottom. A very unique dish you wont find many places.

What can I say about Asakuma? Well… usually I eat it because someone else pays. We get delivery at my office quite often from Asakuma. The sushi is nothing special, typical sushi delivery, everything is spicy tuna’d. Two favorite things are the black cod, it’s actually amazing… totally worth a try. And the albacore with crispy onions, its a roll. It’s absolutely delish. I would say give them a shot.

This is a great place to get good sushi for cheap. They have lunch specials for $ 11 that are a really good value, especially compared to the surrounding sushi places. I’m a big miso soup snob, and this place has really watery soup, so it’s just meh for me. I will still order from here more often, because I thought the sushi was good, and the prices can’t be beat.

I first got turned onto this spot when I was taken to the restaurant location in Santa Monica on Wilshire Blvd. The Black Cod is their signature dish in my opinion. I know everyone who reviews Asakuma praises this dish, so I’m merely supporting that with yet another thumbs up tribute to that dish.

Was visiting a friend who worked nearby for a Friday lunch. I would say for the location this place has the best lunch specials just $ 10. There is about a half dozen different combos to choose from. My friend always gets the Asakuma Hand Roll Special, I think it’s #2 Combo, so that’s what I went with as well. It’s such a great deal since it includes four rolls(Salmon, Tuna, Spicy Tuna and Yellow Tail?) a large side salad and a bowl of miso soup. Not so sure if was Yellow Tail or not I don’t remember, just look at my picture it’s the roll on the far left! John L. said it looks like Albacore! I recommend you to go Thursdays, my friend is this is when their fish is the freshest. I thought the amount of food given was filling and generously proportioned for sushi. Even the quality of the side salad was above average for a lunch special, very fresh greens I enjoyed the added alfalfa spouts. The dressing was light in flavor and the amount was perfect. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time, but I had to ask for a refill on my water. Most of the time the staff was in the kitchen preparing orders for delivery. Since this is a delivery location, although it’s in Beverly Hills don’t expect fancy décor just the basics, the handful of tables are only good for groups of two and four. I appreciate the one large glass wall where the entrance is, because if it was a solid wall I would have felt very cramped and claustrophobic. You can tell from the following picture how cramped it is: I am sitting at the farthest table closest to the kitchen and I could probably still hit the only other patron in the back of the head with a spitwad shot out of a straw. Not that I would do such a thing, just sayin’ =p Parking is on the street, I parked in the residential street behind and parallel to Robertson Blvd. with is S. Clark Dr. and walked there. Asakuma Sushi is right next to Lamborghini of Beverly Hills so some window shopping can be done. =D
