Saw the workers handle cash, then precede to touching and serving food. Very bad hygiene! The owner is rarely there to keep an eye on such things. Not risking getting sick and going to emergency room

I love their groupon deal as it saves around $ 8 – 10 dollars each time we go in there but lately the service has been lacking. Last time we ordered vegetable tempura and he thought we wanted the vegetable tempura roll(which wasn’t very good) instead of the vegetable tempura appetizer. Didn’t know there were two different items and when we got there to pick up the sushi and they said we ordered the vegetable tempura roll and not the appetizer. If the customer isn’t always right, that is not something this establishment believes in.

Do not order to-go from these guys. We ordered through Seamless to have them deliver our food. We were notified by seamless that our order would take around 35 min. We received confirmation that the restaurant received the order so we figured all was good. An hour goes by and still no delivery. So we went ahead and called the restaurant and some guy named Eli that spoke very little English after calling 3 times. The first time the phone went to voicemail. The second call was purposely disconnected. We called the third and Eli finally picked up. He claimed he was by himself but we could hear his coworker in the back speaking to him in Spanish. He refused to place the order because now they were almost closed. After 10 minutes trying to talk sense into this guy — he hangs up. The owner of this place should be ashamed of them self for hiring inept workers that care more about going home than taking care of their customers. I would recommend you stay far away from this place. Huge colossal disappointment.

Yellowtail was low grade and tasted fishy. Baked scallop roll was just scallops and mayo. No personality. I thought this location was related to a great place on SM blvd in WLA with the same name, but it clearly is not.

It was my first time ordering sushi here and I was happy about my experience. The sushi here is very good! There wasn’t a long wait since it wasn’t busy and the rolls are all tasty. We ordered 6 rolls for 2 people and it was very overwhelming since we couldn’t finish it! Highly recommend this place for take out!

Rolls are a little pricey, but its good. Strictly a takeout place with two tables.

Ehh, I’ll pass. Kind of like that time you went to Grandma’s farm for Christmas and she prepared goose but it still had skin and hair all over it? Yeah, thanks but no thanks, Grandma. I came here thinking maybe it was a sister branch of the other one with the same name in Sawtelle. Kind of like the Olsen twins. Once you bang one of them you can’t help but wonder what the other one is like, right? Right? No? Just me? Okay. Anyway, this is not like the other one. I got here and realized it’s tiny and pretty much take out only. Alright weird, but I’ll roll with it(that was lame, sorry). Ordered some rolls, took them home, and started digging in. Now I love sushi dude. Love it. I could eat that shit every day. But these rolls were just really plain and bland. I had to drench them in hot mayo. That’s when you know they’re bad. So I’ll pass. Never again. And like the Olsen twins, stick with the best one and don’t stray. Don’t you dare stray. Because it’s just not worth it. (If my girlfriend is reading this right now: honey, no never. I would never bang Mary Kate or Ashley. Or even think about it. You’re my one and only. Always.) (She gone???) (Yeah dude, I totally would.) (Wait babe… ow fuck! I didn’t mean it okay? Stop hitting me! I’m bleeding and that really hur…

Small and quick lunch spot in the B.H. area. We needed to grab a quick bite before a long meeting and stopped here cause we were craving sushi & rolls. The food was agreeable and the prices were low compared to B.H. Just consider the following: the parking lot is not too big so you have be prepared to park on the street with meters, the place is tiny and there is no indoor dining so you’ll have to sit outside, you’ll need to know what you want and ask the guys cause they may be able to customize the order if they can. I’d recommend this place but it’s not going to be the best sushi experience but you will definitely get good sushi at way lower than B.H. prices.

I took a trip to LA, during my stay I was craving some sushi. I had my driver take me to this place because it was close to the Wilshire(where I was staying) and I wanted something quick that I could pick-up. I’m from Chicago, so I know good sushi and I’m sad to say this wasn’t it. I was disappointed in my meal. I got the Aphogee roll, Edamame, Spicy Chicken and Dumplings. The rice on the Aphogee roll didn’t seem fresh. I’ve had other sushi with this same ingredients and the rice pretty much melted in your mouth. With this rice you felt like you were choking. Also the eel sauce was a thumbs down. I love, love, love eel sauce. I don’t know what it was they put on the roll. The Dumplings, Spicy Chicken & Edamame was decent. The only thing great about this place is the price and it somewhat fulfilled my sushi craving.

I come here often since I live very close by. It’s a great place to go for«fast» take-out sushi. It’s the the highest of quality, but it’s good. The service here is quick and good. There are a few tables outside most days, but not the most pleasant views(you stare at the parking lot). One downfall, I find, is they sometimes run out of miso soup. This has happened on several of my visits. None the less, the sushi is good and the service is good, so 4 stars from me.

Really bland sushi. The quality isn’t good at all. I feel bad for writing this but this place makes me appreciate every other sushi place that makes good sushi. The rolls are bland and the quality of the fish is just ok. Sure, the rolls are cheap… but you get what you pay for.

One of the best spots around! Fast and friendly staff and perfect if you’re on the run. Easy access since the shop is directly off Olympic and parking couldn’t be better, it’s available right in front of the shop. The rolls are amazing and really hit the spot. The miso soup is done really well and the menu has a bunch of great options that I’m looking forward to trying out. Happy I came in today!

Ok, first of all I *HAVETO* address some of these negative reviews; If you are trolling around on GROUPON for food(let alone sushi), don’t be surprised if it isn’t 5-star restaurant quality.(There are just a few things in this world that you shouldn’t attempt to obtain a discount on; Food and skincare products!) I don’t know what you Cheap Groupon-Jumpers expect, but If you have to buy Groupons just to dine out, I suggest you instead, go to the grocery store to purchase your food, until you’re able to afford to eat out. Just sayin’. Secondly, I have eaten from this establishment approximately 8 – 10 times now, and I have had nothing but excellent service, fresh food, great value & timely completion on all orders thus far. (Side-Bar) To the Unilocalers that found it necessary to critique the cooks because they were not all«Japanese», way to be a racist, welcome to 2015– join society & make an effort to educate yourself prior to running your ill-equip mouth on Unilocal about things you know nothing about! So I suppose it wouldn’t be ok for a Caucasian such as myself to cook or prepare some Mexican food while following a recipe, because I don’t have brown skin??? Moron! Back to my point: The guys who run this place run a tight ship, the food is great, especially for the in-store pricing. Congratulations to the owner for running such an AMAZING shop, in such an unfortunately bigoted area. Clean|Professional|Healthy|Value

Got a groupon deal for $ 12 for $ 20. First and foremost, this is a takeout joint in a small plaza on Olympic. They take CC, but with a $ 10 minimum. It is suggested that you call ahead of time cause service can be a bit slow. The BF and I ended up ordering three rolls: The donut roll, Chuck and randy(?), and the spicy yellowtail roll. Overall, the rolls were okay. Nothing amazing. but not bad either. The chuck and randy was quite good, very flavorful and the spicy yellowtail tasted fresh… surprisingly the rice to fish ratios were pretty good. The donut roll was probably the most disappointing, it was $ 8 with only 4 pieces. The other rolls were $ 6 and $ 7 and decently size. Let’s just say that you’re not getting authentic japanese sushi here, you’re getting cheap rolls that are bangs for your buck. All the workers are non-japanese haha. I would say that it seems like the original location in Santa Monica had more selections and tasted better? Overall, if you’re looking for a quick bite, mediocre rolls(not sushi) then this is a good option(as long as you call ahead of time). If you’re looking for genuine sushi then this isn’t the place.

I wish I could review the food here, but I can’t because I haven’t tasted it — they have been«making my order» for the last two hours. I ordered via Fluc and they told Fluc on the phone they were starting the order, Fluc sent a driver to the restaurant, and the driver has now been sitting in the restaurant waiting for our order placed two hours ago to be finished. Because of this restaurant our office full of hungry people is getting hangrier by the minute, our driver is losing money waiting on a single delivery instead of getting another delivery and another tip, and we are going to end up with less than fresh sushi since they«started» the order two hours ago. May be OK for dine-in but if you value getting food in anything like a reasonable time, never order delivery.

Food was great as always Your delivery driver is seriously a joke. Ordered through Eat 24. He didn’t want to leave his car parked to come upstairs. I had to get off a conference call in order to pick up the food. When someone requests a delivery, they expect it to be delivered to their door. There’s a reason why someone who orders for delivery doesn’t pick up.

Being a long time patron of the California Roll Factory in the Santa Monica location, I have always heard of this Beverly Hills location, but never got to give it a try. Finally, Groupon brought me here with some really good deals. I have been visiting here ever since! Before you come here, you have to know that this is a togo place. They only have 2 benches as waiting area while waiting for your togo. Also, they have online menu, so calling ahead to order will save you some waiting time.(or else prepare a 20-minute-wait) For what it is and its price, the quality is pretty good! It’s convenient too! One of my favorites is Apogee Roll. It’s made out of sea eel, salmon, crab, and avocado with eel sauce. Yum! Then, I like any rolls with Spicy Scallop such as Agape Roll and Eric’s Roll. Picasso Roll is my all time classic favorite with crab, shrimp, wrapped with soy paper with avocado and smelt eggs on top in eel sauce. They have a parking lot in the plaza~

Had a delivery the other night. Service: They gave us what we needed… even though we ordered like 3 rolls and a teriyaki, it only came with 1 miso soup. :(Did you expect that ONE person is eating the whole thing? shoulda been at least two! Food: Food is okay. Not amazing but what do you expect from a delivery sushi rolls. It was filling but it wasn’t super flavorful, it’s rather bland… all 3 rolls honestly tasted the same. lol Won’t be ordering again.

We had a groupon $ 12 for $ 20 worth of sushi. We ended up getting four rolls for $ 26 total(including groupon coupon price). Both my husband and I were stuffed so we thought it was a great deal. We obviously weren’t expecting great quality, we just wanted some quick and easy sushi close by to home. Service: 3. Takeout/delivery only. I wish I called ahead for my order because I ended up waiting a bit for our food to come out. The restaurant is tiny so waiting there felt uncomfortable, so we stepped outside to talk. But then the smell of weird chemicals from the next door nail salon crept up on us so we went back inside the restaurant to wait. I also asked for extra ginger but they forgot. Big NO. Philly roll: 4. This is my favorite cheap roll primarily because I love salmon and cream cheese. You can’t really mess this up and luckily they didn’t. $ 6.50 for 8 pieces Spicy tuna roll: 4. This is my husband’s favorite cheap roll. Had an extra bit of kick to it. $ 6.00 for 8 pieces Rainbow roll: 4.5 the filling was big and had a lot of ingredients inside. The fish pieces on top were big. Definitely our favorite. $ 12 for 8 pieces Caterpillar roll: 2.45 I didn’t really taste any eel inside, only the watery eel sauce. I don’t recommend this. $ 7 for 6 pieces Location: I like coming to Beverly Hills during the weekend nights because it’s so quiet and easy to get around. Parking is readily available everywhere. Overall the rolls had good rice to fish ratio. And the rolls had a good sushi to price ratio. Not bad.

Venue: This is a small venue. There are two 2 person tables set up outside. This is more of a take out spot. It’s located in a shopping center, sot there is a front lot for parking, metered parking, and residential parking. The venue itself was clean and it has an open kitchen. Service: I placed my order on-line so that I could just walk over and pick it up. I walked in and was not acknowledged for about 5 minutes. Then, the cook finally acknowledged me. I then waited another 5 minutes for someone to come and ring me up. It wasn’t a big deal, because I wasn’t in a rush; however, if I had been in a rush, this would have been rather annoying. I did like that my order was perfectly packed. My soup and sauce were in their containers and then plastic wrapped to prevent spillage. I was given chopsticks and utensils without asking. I love a take out place that knows how to package. The two employees I interacted with were very nice. Food: Wait, I thought you were vegan? I know i know, I listen to my body. If I am craving something, I will have it. Lately my body has been craving eggs. It must be either the fat or the protein because of all the marathon training. My understanding is that tempura is made with egg, so I allowed myself to have it. Anyway, I ordered the vegetable tempura special. The portion size was great. Did I mention my salad was separated from my veggies and rice with foil. That’s a genius idea, that way my salad didn’t get warm. My food was delicious. My soup was the perfect temperature. There were visible pieces of tofu and seaweed. The vegetable tempura was nice, not too heavy(I don’t really like tempura). The rice had a great sticky texture. All in all, I would order from here again.
