I was going to try this place for lunch today and it was shut down! How sad because i just walked pass by just two days ago. I wish that i would have known.

I found the worst cachapa I have ever had in this restaurant. I also think it’s overpriced, which I kind of understand due to the location, but you can get arepas for half price in any other Venezuelan restaurant. The tequenos and arepas are ok. Very disappointed, hope they get better.

Glad to know they do have a Coupa Café in LA. I miss Coupa in downtown Palo Alto in the Bay Area where I used to get my spicy maya mocha. It’s still a drive from where I’m at but really happy that Coupa made its way down here. Stopped in while I was in the area and can’t get enough of their venezuelan spicy mocha. It’s not too much heat in one sip but enough to want for more!

This was my first visit. The restaurant is casual and inviting, with outside and inside seating. I had the mango iced tea and a stuffed Venezuelan Arepa called pabellon, both were pretty good. They have a happy hour from 4 to 7 pm and several gluten-free items on the menu, including empanadas, Arepas and coupas.

Coffee is excellent. Had the veggie burger and sweet potato fries. Really good. First veggie burger I’ve had made from beets. I crave it still.

I’ve been eating here for years and really love their arepas. They’re different from the Colombian arepas I have with my family. These are more like sandwiches filled with cheese or beans or meat… just the right size and not overly filling. Also worth ordering: yucca fries. Good, casual lunch spot and friendly service.

Happened to be in Hollywood for the weekend and had been craving arepas for months, my dining partner and I finally looked up the café and stopped in on a rainy Wednesday. Place was empty but great décor and the staff was extremely attentive, being very open to additions to our meals and whatever else we requested. We ordered two arepas, one pabellon and the other shredded chicken with Gouda. The pabellon arepa was definitely much more flavorful but both were pretty delicious. I would recommend the pabellon arepa for a more traditional flavor palette and for really complimentary flavors. Really hit the spot, and the accompanying salad was a great addition. The mint mojitos were very refreshing as well! Loved it and, if I ever happen to be in Beverly Hills again, would love to stop by. Did a 4⁄5 cause I’d recommend a pabellon style chicken arepa to be available!

K, this place must have a really amazing lunch special or bottomless mimosas or something, because after spending a good three hours there on a weeknight I can see no way for it to stay open otherwise. I stopped by Coupa Café because I was stuck in Beverly Hills at rush hour after a spontaneous work excursion. I Unilocaled«study spots» and it was the nearest entity to come up on my phone. I decided to sit out front to do some homework because the inside was too crowded and noisy and the chair/table I sat at was not comfortable ATALL. I kept sinking down into it and the table was at a super awkward height, too. I ordered a chai tea latte which, being like $ 6 for a tiny cup, should have tasted like angel tears or virgin blood but it was actually just an overly-sweetened powder that wasn’t mixed into the water thoroughly enough so that I kept getting mouthfuls of powder in my mouth. I ended up ordering a regular cup of chai tea so I could spoon some of the latte into it(which the server had so much trouble understanding and charged me for anyway). I figured I should order a meal since I was basically squatting there for hours on end and got their lentil salad. The salad was ~$ 15 if I recall correctly and consisted of about ¼ cup of lentils on top of some greens. It wasn’t appetizing at all and I thought it was so funny(read: pathetic) that I didn’t eat any but boxed it up to take home to show my boyfriend/proceeded to add some substance to it to make an actual meal for lunch the next day. At some point in my stay at Coupa Café, a couple sat down directly next to me and began asking the server about the beer menu. I couldn’t understand why, when the entire outer patio was open, they were seated directly next to me, but I digress. The server couldn’t describe to them what type of brews were on the menu and I ended up explaining the beers to them instead. As I said, I can only imagine that this server didn’t know how to make a latte or have even a smidgeon of knowledge about the(tiny) beer menu because this place is usually only a brunch spot. Otherwise it blows my mind that it’s still open at all.

On a recent Friday day off, I decided to run some errands. On the way, I figured I’d meet my friend for lunch near her office in Beverly Hills. After all, when we all work 9 – 5, none of our friends get to see where we work or see us during the day. I figured it would be a neat opportunity. By searching near restaurants near Rodeo, I found rave reviews for a place called Coupa Café. The food looked good, had a prime location(literally right next door to public city parking) and a nice outdoor patio. I met my friend there and settled in for lunch! The place was practically deserted, which I found to be incredibly surprising for a beautiful sunny Friday afternoon in an area where hundreds of people work and presumably have client meetings, and in an area where thousands more tourists come every day. However, that just meant the more room and attention for us! We got a seat right on the beautiful front patio, so we could people-watch the passersby on the street. Scott Disick and Kendall Jenner were having lunch at Il Pastaio across the street at the time, so there was a huge paparazzi commotion over there and our quiet patio was left well enough alone. With all the Mediterranean/Italian/Californian options on the menu, I had a hard time choosing what I wanted. Because I order a caprese panini almost everywhere I go, I opted for something new and got the spaghetti pomodoro with tomato sauce, garlic, fresh basil and shaved Parmesan cheese. My friend chose the oven roasted turkey panini, which is served with swiss cheese, tomato, lettuce, herbs, aioli and dijon mustard. Both our dishes were AMAZING! I devoured that pasta, even though it was a huge serving. It could easily have made for two meals. Our server was kind and attentive as well. I wish I had more time to just relax on the patio and enjoy the sunshine and cool breeze, but I’ll definitely be back to do so!

I usually avoid going into places when it’s close to closing time BUT I had been wanting to try this place and it was about 30 minutes until closing. I was told that I could get a table but that I would have to sit inside. I believe that’s because they bring the tables in from the patio after closing and they were starting to clear the tables. I would have been fine sitting inside but they had a tv on showing Bob’s Burgers(tv show) and the radio/music was also on and the volumes were at about the same level. Please, in a dining situation, just pick one audio track. I had the Pesto Chicken Crêpe. It was not very good(and I’m not a picky eater). It was bland and the chicken was well overcooked. I was pretty hungry when I stopped in and I ate until I wasn’t hungry anymore. I had no desire to try to finish the dish.

I had a business lunch at Coupa Café. The food was good, but the prices seemed to be high for the quality. Then again, this is Beverly Hills. My colleague and I had arepitas, the Venezuelan pabellon and a salad. All were tasty.

Not impressed with the food. I was honestly expecting more. Venezuela has great cuisine, and this place just didn’t hit the mark. I am Venezuelan, and I understand that we are not in South America and that the flavors may vary a little. I had the Pabellon, it had Mexican-style rice(not Venezuelan at all) the beef was way too seasoned. My wife had the cachapa(it’s like a sweet corn pancake) the taste was just not good. It is way too expensive for the service they provided. Never offered a desert… For a $ 80+ meal for two… I was expecting much more. Service is not up to par for a restaurant located in such exclusive area. 2 stars… I hope they improve…

This is such a cute restaurant in Beverly Hills! Coupa Café is colorful and so beautiful. I recommend sitting outside on the patio to eat your food, al fresco. You get a good view of Canon Drive too. I ordered two appetizers and they were actually quite filling. I ordered the mini cachapas and the tequinos. The mini cachapas were a bit expensive but it was delicious. For $ 9 you get 6 mini corn cakes with cheese and two sauces, a white and green sauce. The corn cakes have a sweet flavor and together with the saltiness of the cheese was absolutely delicious. The flavors balanced each other out. The tequinos, which are cheese wrapped in dough and fried, were $ 9 and you get about 6 pieces. They were pretty thick and there was a lot of cheese in each stick. I wasn’t really a fan of the sauce that came with it, it was a bit sweet for my taste and I didn’t think the tequinos needed it. I also ordered a Venezuelan latte called a Marron, I ordered it iced with a little bit of caramel syrup. I never knew how delicious and strong Venezuelan coffee was! It has a sweet note to it and although it was a latte, it wasn’t bitter at all. It was refreshing as a latte too. Again, the Marron is very strong! It was a good pick me up during the day and I felt very alert. 5 Stars for the food and the service. The servers were very sweet and made me feel like I was at home. Parking is free for 2 hours if you park in the garage that’s next to the restaurant. Other than that, there is plenty of street parking around the area.

I was traveling on business and saw the great reviews and that Coupa Café was open for dinner so I came here for dinner on my own on a Thursday evening around 7:30pm. The lights around the bar had been turned off and there was only one patron sitting at the bar and no patrons at any of the tables. I was concerned that the restaurant was not open but the staff assured me they were open and to come on in. I was a bit concerned that there were no patrons and I had just walked past a few restaurants that were packed and had people waiting outside for tables. I shouldn’t have been worried. I got to pick my table and the server gave me excellent recommendations when I asked her what was good. She took the time to explain the differences between various Venezuelan dishes and even made a wine pairing recommendation. I couldn’t have been more pleased. I ended up going with the Arepa with pelua. It reminded me a lot of a delicious empanada, and I’m likely to go back and try their empanadas. The service was great as was the food. I think a part of the issue is that it’s perceived as a lunch spot even though this is a great dinner spot as well.(Their menu doesn’t change for dinner and I recommended they clarify this on their Unilocal page.) For anyone reading this review, don’t hesitate for dinner. I hear it’s very crowded at lunch.

We ordered the Happy hour sliders, mango iced tea and iced coffee Sat at the bar and was served promptly. Service was awesome. Coffee was nothing spectacular, mango iced tea was ok. I liked that it wasn’t artificially sweetened but the beverage did lack flavor. Sliders comprised of 3 different styles of juicy mini burgers(1 with bacon). Prices were decent, atmosphere is layed back & the place is clean/newer. I’d go back and try something else :)(like the ahi!)

Venue This venue is located on Canon. There are several parking structures and of course there is valet. The restaurant is small, but it offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The décor is very bright and festive. I love the plants everywhere. Food I have been here for brunch before and I strongly recommend it. Today I decided to try their vegan Arepa. The best way for me to describe an Arepa is like a fluffy taco. The dough of the bread reminds me of fry bread(Don’t know how much that helps) Mine was stuffed with eggplant, roasted peppers, onions. It was seasoned nicely. I do have to warn you that this is a messy dish to eat. The stuffing was falling everywhere, but it is delicious. It comes with a nice side salad. I indulged in a glass of wine(Shhhhh!) My grandmother also had an Arepa, although hers had chicken. She also had chi cha, which is like horchata. Service I have to give Coupa Café major snaps for their server major snaps for her positivity and humor. She made the experience wonderful for all of us and she knew the ins and outs of the menu. She was able to answer all questions and seemed so genuine. I wish that I had written down her name. Either way thank you so much !

Coupa Café is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Beverly Hills. They have a lovely patio on the sidewalk. And inside the restaurant, it is decorated very artistically with lots of color. I like to stop by Coupa Café whenever I visit the art show. I thought when I went in that I was going to order breakfast, and I started out asking for a cup of coffee. But when I saw the Halibut Tacos on the menu, my plan change. I canceled the coffee order and the waitress was very understanding. Instead she recommended their amazing Iced Mango Tea — this was delicious — it was black tea with mango, and it tasted like there was a spice in it too, maybe cinnamon. I think I had four glasses, it was that good. Then I ordered the Halibut Tacos. The halibut tacos were covered with shredded red cabbage in a creamy sauce — so they were fantastic on their own. But there was also three more sauces served as well — a creamy avocado sauce, a garlic white sauce, and a spicy red sauce. I loved both the avocado and garlic sauce. The spicy red sauce was really good for dipping the chips. Wonderful food. Lovely atmosphere on the patio. A great place to visit before the art show, or before shopping.

Service was okay. A little slow for Beverly Hills. I would recommend only going in the morning as the evening crowd– no crowd so super low. Hamburger was great– have to order with their sweet potato fries. Don’t order their lentil soup. Their chicken pesto crêpe was good however they indulged it with 10 lbs of olive oil.

The Caracas-born hubster loves this joint and I’ve subsequently come to love it as well. It is the only place on the Westside we’ve been to that serves authentic Venezuelan cuisine.. . and oddly enough, in Beverly Hills! We enjoy the arepas(though no one makes it better than my sister-in-law), cachapas, and super strong coffee called maron. But the surprising delight is the Horchata-like concoction called chicha. LOVEMESOMECHICHA! It perfectly offsets some of the spicy sauces that accompany things like the cheesy tequeños and empanadas we order when we come for a lovely Sunday brunch. The service is on point and the patio is lovely. You have to sit there. There are plenty of non-Venezuelan choices but inevitably, whenever the two of us go and order all things Venezuelan, we always always get curious diners asking us what this and that are as the hubster proudly recalls the country of his birth. Solid joint, despite the snooty locale; folks here aren’t snooty.

Two Words: Serenaded Dinner I came here with a friend and walked out with a boyfriend(just kidding). Coupa Café knows how to get romantic. I ordered the chicken crêpe because I wanted something light. The chicken was moist and tender. Usually I order a crêpe that is sweet(like crepes with strawberries and whipped cream). I was quite impressed with this fusion. My friend wanted to try the tres leches and I really did not have the appetite to eat something sweet. Since, he insisted, I tried it. It is a tres yes! Come here to try some Venezuelan cuisine and for a wonderful dining experience!

Good salad, good beers(although limited selection… but still, who has a quad?), nice outdoor tables AND indoor tables, nice service. Reasonable prices. They lose a star because they can get surprisingly aggressive about being closed when you’d have no reason to believe they’re closed. Specifically, I was nearly tackled when I walked into the restaurant at 8:30. «WECLOSEAT8:30!!» Holy crap, stop looking so inviting then!
