My brother-​in-​law and I have been customers of Doron for 5+ years. You will have a hard time finding a designer more knowledgeable, more talented, and more affordable for the quality of work that Doron offers. Since Doron stands behind his work he offered to us maintenance on our rings for the four of us. He was even able to do it during the crazy holiday season. When it came time to find «THE RING» of my dreams, I excitedly began a frantic search through magazines, went to many jewelry shops, near and far and tried several rings and did endless online searches. The more I searched, the less I found… It became a tedious and discouraging process. I started to get anxious and thought I would end up having to get something I would not be 100% happy with. Wondrously, a friend stopped by our home and she wore a beautiful ring. I instantly fell in love with it and wanted to know where she had purchased it. She replied that the diamond was her dear, late Mother’ and the band was the creation of a Jeweler named Doron Isaak. My friend spoke highly of Doron’s work and expressed she loved her ring. Turns out, I loved it too!
My boyfriend called Doron and spoke to him about our interest in a ring similar to our friend’s. Doron recommended we meet in his office. He mentioned that he could help get a diamond if we didn’t have one. We brought in our own diamond. 2 weeks before the Christmas Holiday we walked into Doron Isaak’s office downtown LA in the jewelry district. Doron invited us in and we sat down discussed the ring I had in mind while he showed us a few ring samples from his line and this gave us an opportunity to observe the degree of detail and craftsmanship he puts into all his ring designs.
Beyond being a skilled jeweler, Doron is very approachable and professional. He communicated clearly, answered all my questions and ensured he went over the specifics with me such as noting my exact ring size and my choice of metal. He recommended my size should be ¼″ smaller so that the band could sit in place allowing the diamond to stay in place. Doron took all my requests into consideration and covered all the specifics with me and made me feel comfortable.
The Christmas and New Year Holiday slowed production a bit but when I finally opened up that small red box, there, in front of my eyes was one of the MOST exquisite and beautiful rings I’ve ever laid eyes on. I couldn’t believe it was my ring! It was even better than I had imagined it. I placed that ring on my finger and the fit, the look and the feel is perfect. I own the perfect ring! I get a lot of compliments on it and many people ask where we bought it from. Thank you to my adoring Partner, our wonderful Lady friend who is so kind so have provided the name of Doron Isaak. My husband had Doron design my engagement ring and he did the most incredible job! It’s an extremely well-​made and timeless piece of jewelry I will always cherish it! I even approached Doron when I needed a matching wedding band and he created yet another beautiful ring for me that perfectly complimented my engagement ring. I needed a special custom bracelet for my girlfriend for her birthday. Not only did Doron have it ready for me sooner than expected, he went above and beyond setting beautiful diamonds around the band. His pricing was very fair and he made sure I received the item in a timely fashion.

Doron made a custom setting for my engagement ring. Originally I was pretty pleased with it, but it has not held up well over the past 4 years. Within the past six months I have had to have a tiny side diamond replaced (one day it was just gone) and also the bottom of the ring repaired (it literally came apart at the seams where it was sized). I figured the former issue was pretty common, so I replaced it without complaint, but the second issue struck me as odd so I tried calling Doron to discuss it with him. I couldn’t get in touch with him right away (for about a week) so I took it to get fixed and again paid out of pocket. Call me crazy, but I wanted to be able to wear my engagement ring again.
When we finally connected, I felt like Doron was a) dismissive and b) unhelpful. He stated he could not tell me whether this was a common or expected problem because he could not see or inspect the ring himself (his exact words were «I dont know what you’re talking about»). Though he offered to take a look at it if I dropped the ring off at his Downtown office, he did NOT offer any apologies for the initial inconvenience or expense of fixing the ring, nor the prospective inconvenience of having to navigate parking and traffic downtown. Nor did he address my ongoing concerns about the safety and security of the ring (What if the main diamond falls out one day???).
Basically, I could tell he cared very little for my ongoing business, and thats fine. I’ve found a great little jewelry repair shop on the westside that is happy to cater to my needs. Next time I decide to make a big purchase, I’ll go elsewhere, and I’ll be telling my friends (and fellow Unilocalers) the same thing.
