Gary Gagossian

Gary Gagossian is an amazing tailor of truly bespoke suits and very well-​priced. I’ve found the suits and sport coats he’s made for me to be of impeccable quality and a great value. He pays attention to every detail and his fit is nothing short of perfect. As a second generation tailor, this man knows how to cut a pattern and make a suit that looks great. On top of everything else, he is a real gentleman and has stayed late to accommodate my schedule.

My wife and I have been going to Gary for years and have received nothing but stellar service. He has worked on suits, shirts, ties and dresses, and not once was his work less than great.

AVOID AT ALL COST!
I gave him a second shot (mistake) and when it came time to pick up my alterations… they were not even started yet!
When I picked up my alterations the following day, he charged me $ 20 more than what he originally had quoted. Not sure how that works. Hah.

If you are looking for an arrogant, temperamental, costly tailor that doesn’t pay attention to detail, Gary Gagossian is your man. I initially used Gary when I needed sleeves altered on a leather coat. I have an arm ¾ of an inch longer so usually alter coat or jacket sleeves. He measured me, but when the leather coat came back he didn’t take this into account, and he had to redo it. It was inconvenient, but I let it slide, thinking sometimes people make mistakes. Thankfully he erred on the side of the longer sleeve otherwise his mistake could have ruined my coat. Today, I called him and asked if he could take up sleeves on a jacket with a quick turnaround; he agreed; so I brought it down; when I got there I felt the cost was high. I told him I would get it done this time because he agreed to a quick turnaround, and I was there but that I thought it was kind of expensive; He said, «Do you know where you are? You are in the GOLDEN TRIANGLE, (Beverly Hills) I am doing YOU A FAVOR, and, you know, I am not going to do the sleeves there are other customers». I was AMAZED – what a nut! This was unwarranted since I agreed to his price and did not haggle him AT ALL, just said I thought the price was high. My time is valuable and I didn’t appreciate driving to Beverly Hills for no reason only to put up with his tantrum. Maybe he was having a bad day, but who needs it? I ended up taking it to my friend’s tailor and the price was 30% less without all the DRAMA.
