Went here while we stayed at hotel bc it was easy after getting in from flight however it was a huge disappointment. I got a well done filet mignon when i ordered medium and waiter was more interested in setting up the dining room and doing his chores than serving us. Not only that, good took an unreasonable amount of time considering we were the only ones in the whole restaurant! Overall, food was mediocre and dining experience was not good.

The three course brunch special is fantastic. I especially loved the chicken with farro. The food is local farm fresh and it makes all the difference. The menu offers a great combination of gourmet treats and comfort food(but made to perfection). The service was good. They offer a discount for neighborhood locals.

Great service. And the hotel to which this restaurant is attached is great. But our beef and our turkey burgers were sandpaper dry, and were served with tasteless home-made chips(«like eating rocks»), and a tasteless pickle.

This is one of the few places I would venture in for lunch and dinner, simply after trying breakfast. I ordered the American Breakfast, which came with two boiled eggs, turkey bacon(impressed they serve this!), and russet potatoes. I ordered a side of the Maine lobster, it was fresh, clean, and delicious. The best thing about this place was the environment. It’s got a great soundtrack, great space, and seating outside, inside, and in the lounge-esque booth! I would be delighted to come back and try their Mediterranean Branzino and pasta(if I was into carbohydrates…) Classy, sophisticated, and in great taste!

I’ve been here several times as a hotel guest and have never been disappointed. Their crab gnocchi is amazing, as are their meatballs. I’m also a huge fan of their lobster risotto. The food is rich and the service is exceptional. I had the same server twice and she remembered what I ordered two months later and was extremely personable. Love coming here for a relaxing but amazing dinner.

One of the worst restaurants I’ve been to in a long time! Very surprising considering it’s in a 4 star hotel in Beverly Hills. I bought a travel zoo voucher for brunch. Before purchasing the voucher I went to L’ermitage’s website to view the brunch menu. The travel zoo deal itself seemed like a good bargain. Brunch for 2, 3 courses, and bottomless mimosas for $ 75. You get a choice of a first course a second course, then dessert choice. The menu they show on the website has changed so nothing except for the bottomless mimosas appealed to me once I got there. Regularly the brunch would be $ 60. I can’t imagine anyone ever paying that for what you get. Essentially I paid $ 37.50 a person for the brunch and even that was a waste of money! For the first course my friend ordered the beet salad and I the kale salad. My friends beet salad was tasteless and the beets were underdone an not seasoned at all. My kale salad was like chewing on a bowl of grass. They tried to make it a kale caesar salad. Kale is a hearty green and needs to be chopped finer. These were large pieces of raw kale with some pieces soaked with dressing and others not dressed at all. It’s like they poured the dressing over the kale, sprinkled it with a dash of parmesan, then threw in about 5 bread crumbs that they were trying to pass off as croutons. So that’s just the first course. It didn’t get better, believe me. My friend ordered grilled salmon, she asked that it be cooked well done. It came to the table raw in the middle. Even the dessert was bad. I ordered the cookies. When they came I looked at them and asked if they were oatmeal because I was sure the round dark things in them were raisins. The waiter said they were chocolate chip. I said great. He left, I took a bite, and yup they were oatmeal. I hate raisins. The whole experience was just such a disconnect. Lack of service, lack of communication. When the waiter came back about 15 minutes after dropping off the«chocolate chip cookies» and saw that I didn’t eat any of them he asked if there was something wrong. I said these are oatmeal with raisin cookies and I don’t like them. He replied, why didn’t you tell me I could have gotten you something else. I said I am telling you, this is the first time you’ve been by the table since you dropped them off. Just a disappointing experience on all levels. Thank god for the few glasses of champagne that I could get the waiter to bring. I would never go back and would not recommend anyone wasting their time and money at this restaurant.

A very sophisticated place, with outstanding food. Every dish has a stunning presentation, and the ambiance, service and food were implacable and exceptional with charming staff, full of care and attention. The dishes are quiet expensive, however they present a wider range of courses compared to many restaurants within the area, and they are beautifully presented and served.

Fantastic food and fantastic service! I never leave Unilocal reviews, in fact this is my first one. I rarely order steak anywhere because I am usually disappointed. I had the filet tonight and it literally cut like butter. The flavor was amazing, the sear beautiful and cooked to a perfect medium. My girlfriend had the branzino and this is now her favorite place for a great sea bass. From the minute we walked in we were greeted with nothing but smiles and great attitudes. Our server Joe had great suggestions on the food and wine. Liz the manager was so kind and helped us celebrate our special night. All in all, we will definitely be back and I highly recommend this great establishment.

I made it out to Livello for DineLA and did the $ 45 three course menu. The food was delicious! For appetizers, both the beef carpaccio and the truffle pastry were great. The truffle pastry was extremely rich and had actual truffle shavings on top, so unique! For entrees we had the lamb chop and the fish, both very tasty but not that unique. The marshmallow chocolate cake with ice cream was phenomenal! I’ll be back if not just for that. Each dish had an amazing presentation and used very fine quality ingredients. This restaurant is more geared for an intimate experience(think date night, not group dinner). The restaurant is connected to the hotel lobby, which kind of took away from the ambiance in my opinion. Our waitress Talia really made the experience though. Talia was professional, attentive, and most importantly really fun!

We had an absolutely lovely date night here for Dine LA last week. Our server, Talia, was beyond gracious, knowledgeable, and friendly. She’s an absolute gem. The bread and butter(particularly the breadsticks) are really nice, and they did one of my wife’s favorite things – served the butter at room temperature. She loves it when restaurants pay attention to little details like that, and I love when she’s happy. Plus the butter was so spreadable it was really great. It’s a classy little detail that many restaurants, even some of the finest, tend to miss. The best dish of the night was also the first, a little but big flavor sunchoke soufflé’ topped with a single black truffle shaving. It was outstanding. My lamb chops were delish and my wife’s ravioli were also yummy. The nutella panna cotta was small but nice. I think Livello, along with the bar at LErmitage, get a bit overlooked, but they shouldn’t. They’re darn nice digs with great food and drinks, and no one’s so stuffy or pretentious that you’ll feel like you’re being stared at. Good stuff!

This is a lovely restaurant at a lovely hotel. I dined here a couple months ago and had a great experience. The sea bass was cooked to perfection and my boyfriend who order the risotto was in heaven with his dish. We started with roasted brussel sprouts and they were by far the best I’ve ever had. Delicious. On top of it, the waitress was very kind. I will certainly be back soon.

Although I love the hotel to stay, there is a reason the restaurant is light on patrons. My parents stay at the L’ermitage when they are in town and we ate at the restaurant their first night as they were a bit jet lagged. The food was mediocre at best. The staff is wonderful but they can’t make up for the food. The scallops were over cooked and came with a foam that looked like they were in a bath tub before hand. The use of «foam» traditionally is to add a hint of flavor. There was so much on the plate you had to do a search and rescue for the scallops. I will say that my parents said the breakfast was excellent. They had a wine food paring that night on the rooftop so MAYBE that is why the food was done so poorly. The top chef might have been preoccupied(at least I hope that was the case).

Waaaaay overdue Dine LA Review: Livello came with great hype and left with much disappointment. It’s located in L’ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills. Can you say SWANKY? Here are some of the things that I loved and didn’t love… Pros: –Tuna tartare appetizer was HUGE. Normally apps like this at fine dining restaurants I am able to take down in one or two bites but the portion size of this one made me quite happy. –Tasty amuse bouche –Desserts were good but nothing too memorable about them Cons: –Restaurant location and layout is just bizarre. As you walk past the lobby there is a large corridor you follow along to get to a large outdoor bar area. This corridor IS the restaurant. To the left of the walkway there are small tables where you dine while on the right of the walkway you have the kitchen. Bottom line is the restaurant area gets a lot of foot traffic for people just trying to get to the outdoor area of the hotel and makes for some uneasy ambience while you eat. –My white fish entrée was dismal. The fish came out overcooked and dry for both my friend and I. It lacked a starch, which normally is ok if the dish made up for it with extra veggies or some other component besides the protein but that was not the case here. It lacked a sauce to bind the dish together. So basically the plate was an overcooked fish with 1 leek and no sauce on it and it ended up feeling very one-noted in my mouth. Blehhh –Service moved at a snail’s pace. There were people next to us that were getting irritated as it took the staff over 45 minutes to bring out their appetizers. –Very pricey! I knew that coming in and I totally don’t mind the prices if I have a great experience but sadly this place did not deliver. I probably won’t be back.

If I could write a letter to our waiter, Joe, without it being considered creepy as hell, it would read as follows: Dear Joe, I love your restaurant nestled in a quiet residential area of Beverly Hills– from the gigantic heat-lamp-disguised-as-a-floor-lamp that rests at the entrance, to the ricotta cheesecake dessert I ended the evening with; it was all spectacular. The restaurant is beautiful, filled with elegant, conservative furnishings, plush carpet and neutral-toned accents; not to mention the lovely lady singing jazz songs with live piano accompaniment. But my favorite part of the décor was obviously all of the stellar original screenplays resting behind thick Plexiglas frames that are being used as wall art. I mean, you even have the original screenplay for JAWS! The food you served me by Chef Joseph Elevado was delectable. The amuse bouche being a fresh piece of red snapper in Japanese citrus ginger got the meal started off on the right foot. Following that up with roasted brussel sprouts sliced in half(just like I like them!) with Redwood Hill farm goat cheese and whole-grain honey mustard sauce was very smart. However, the crown glory of the meal was the five-spice garlic-crusted lamb chops with long beans. How did your talented chef make that lamb so very delicious? I want to try it at home, although I will likely be unsuccessful. I appreciate your suggestion that my date and I each order a different dessert(me the ricotta cheesecake with spiced pear compote and him the chocolate cake with salted caramel and pistachio ice cream) so that we could each sample two desserts. Unfortunately, your plan was ineffectual because my date ate his entire slice of cake and scoop of ice cream without offering me a crumb! I in turn, ate all of mine. Lastly Joe, the service you provided was impeccable. I hope to be back so that we can hang out again. Sincerely, Monica ps. Your restaurant is extraordinarily expensive.

This restaurant is EXPENSIVE! Go in knowing that and your experience will be much better. That being said, the food is AMAZING! A girlfriend of mine hosted a large dinner party at Livello last night and everyone ordered something different. I was able to try almost every dish and appetizer… INCREDIBLE! The crab starter is a must. It’s insane. Also pricey(about $ 18 a glass), but order the house cabernet; you won’t be disappointed. I think most of the lower reviews are from people who didn’t expect the prices or used some group-on deal. Yes, the food is fancy, small portions and«artistic», if you will, but absolutely genius. The staff was classy and professional. There was someone standing by every door to open it for me. Also, park just around the corner at the street meters if you go after 6pm because it’s free and very close; valet is expensive(spend the money on an extra glass of wine instead ;]). I can’t wait to go back to try their Sunday brunch!

An Ok experience. I purchased a GILTCITY deal for $ 105 for two – found this to be OVERPRICED for the offering. Starter –thinly sliced vinegar cucumber sprinkled with sesame seeds Second –two pieces of veal meatballs(tasted like matzah balls) third –One Shrimp with some basic sauce; mom had delicious oxtail ravioli Dessert — pretty and forgettable panna cotta +tiramisu Two glasses of House Merlot. Service was impeccable, our server was absolutely en pointe! I appreciated that she acknowledged my mum’s birthday. All else aside, I found it difficult to find the restaurant, per lack of signage. Also, I felt that the restaurant lacked décor and the stained carpet has got to go! This place needs to reconsider their price point and identity/décor prior to considering a marketing campaign.

The trend for my 28th birthday this year is dining at restaurants within hotels on the West side. I first saw a promo offer on Gilt City, then I was amazed by the hotel and restaurant décor. I was very lucky that the restaurant provided us the private dining room, which is really an awesome experience. However, I was disappointed by the food as whether it’s Lamb Chops or Seared Wagyu, they all tasted a bit too salty. Although I do have to say that the Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough 2008 was fantastic, never had a such a memorable Sauvignon Blanc, and it made me want to just to keep a bottle at home. Didn’t really get a chance to taste the dessert as I was too busy talking to peeps. I probably won’t go back for the dinner, but definitely would try their weekend Brunch at the patio or happy hours at the lounge, both seems received awesome reviews.

Absolutely adored the décor and ambiance of this restaurant. Beautiful, elegant and romantic! The service was excellent as well. The complimentary bread(olive bread, french bread and butter roll?) were good. Also enjoyed the complimentary tasting of the porcini mushroom soup. The presentation of the food was lovely and well cooked. However, just a tad too salty for my taste buds. Forgot to ask the kitchen to go light on the salt. The lamb chops were very tender and the pistachio soufflé was divine! Parking: Valet is $ 10 and there’s free street parking after 6pm.

I came here with my fiancé to look at L’Ermitage’s wedding venue and also to sample their chef’s menu. We wanted to be that sure wherever we ended up getting hitched that the food would be delicious for our reception — the hotel suggested the best way to do that was to sample the head chef’s restaurant. We came in on a Saturday evening and were immediately seated in the intimate dining area — it was rather small but not crowded or cramped. Our lovely waiter with the cutest French accent was patient and helpful with our meal choices. We ended up getting the tuna sashimi with green curry, oxtail ravioli, veal and spicy soy ramen with pork ragu. We also shared a yummy bottle of sparkling sake. To start we received fresh bread and an amuse bouche(pineapple, tuna belly goodness). Next was the tuna sashimi — fresh, simply done but good. The oxtail ravioli were wonderfully cooked — the meat was so tender and the sauce had already starting congealing with the yummy marrow. The thing it needed was some spice — anise or salt or something. Still it was delicious. The ramen was interesting — not my favorite of the night because the meat ragu sauce had a sweetness to it that threw me off. The noodles were handmade though which was nice — I just needed it to be more spicy/salty like it was supposed to be from its description. The veal was cooked right with some sort of pickled pepper/onion concoction on top which was at first jarringly sour to the taste buds but then grew on me. Afterwards they were kind enough to end our meal with a sweet surprise of ricotta cheesecake and some homemade chocolate biscuits dipped in white chocolate(they have their own pastry chef on site that Chef Joe bought with him). All in all the meal was quite good. FYI — the restaurant is fairly new — just opened in late Jan or early Feb so they’re working through some kinks. Chef Joe also came out to speak with us at the end of our meal and he couldn’t have been more kind(he admitted the dishes’ flavors are more subdued so they appeal to the general public but he could adapt as wanted — he comes from Nobu, opened Social House and is now at Livello developing this Asian/Italian fusion menu). I’m sure with a little more time the menu will be stellar. I’ll look forward to coming back and eating a bowl of that oxtail ravioli. Probably after the wedding though — until then I best not tempt myself or my waistline.

Ok I am going to do a real review here for their lunch offering. Service(5*) The restaurant is pretty quite due to the size of the restaurant and the hotel is very secluded in the Beverly Hills. However, I was very impressed with how attentive their services are and the atmosphere was quite cozy. I had meals at the Peninsula however this restaurants service level is a step above. Friendly yet not pretentious. Made adequate suggestions on food and such. Food(4.5*) First Course: Jumbo Asparagus /Truffle Vinaigrette /Poached Duck Egg/Shaved Parmesan. Asparagus is very tender and juicy and duck egg was cooked perfectly(the yolk is yummy). However I wish the truffle scent will be bit more stronger since the vinaigrette dressing is covering up the scent(taste more like a honey mustard to me more or less). Second Course: We ordered all three items. Here are the brief descriptions of each. 1) Free Range Herb Roasted Chicken /Wild Mushroom Fricassee: I Think this is the best choice. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Juicy and tender inside while the skin is very crispy. Wild mushroom dressing enhance the flavor of the chicken and this is the biggest dish(in terms of the quantity) of all 3 choices. You get about ½ of chicken approx. 2) Roasted Salmon /Seasonal Vegetables /Caper Butter Sauce: You get to choose how you want your salmon cook. If you prepare raw, you can go with medium. But I would get medium well or well done for the salmon since this is not a sashimi dish! They also came with few strings of white asparagus. 3) Porcini Mushroom Ravioli /Melted Leeks /Beurre Fondue: Vegetarian dish. The shield is a bit firm for my taste. Desserts(5*) Vanilla Bean Crème Brulee, Sorbet Trio(Strawberry, Raspberry, Passion fruits), and Strawberry Cobbler with Ice cream. Its all good! I like sorbet the most(Passion fruits). You gonna try it The Bartender John makes really really good Mojito($ 17). Its one of the best mojitos we had for a long long time. We also received the letter from staff to thank us for visiting and received free drink voucher for the future visits! We will definitely return! this is such a nice place to visit!
