Not only is Nick about the most down to Earth, sincere, and all around great guy that I have come across in the haircare scene in LA, but he honestly was the one of the only people I have ever met that completely understands my hair and knows exactly how it should be cut. I cannot rant and rave enough about this very talented and warm individual. Thanks Nick!!!

My review is for Nick Chavez at Nick Chavez Salon… I get my hair styled twice a week and whenever I’m on the road I have to take a chance and go with my gut instinct for picking a salon Recently I happened to be staying at the Beverly Hills Four Seasons and Nick Chavez Salon was around the corner so I made a reservation the first day I was in town. The blow-dry was by far the best style I have ever had period. In New York, Miami, Rome anywhere. And the bonus was Nick himself. I had no idea when booking that he worked with QVC and had one of the first(maybe it was the first) hair product lines ever sold on TV. Best of all Nick is such a kind soul that talking to him is as good as getting your hair done… no inflated ego here folks just sweetness Anyway the products he uses and the way he styles the hair is just perfect. I am old school when it comes to hair– big curlers — YES!!! and believe you don’t have to have«old lady hair«but«BODY» in your hair to make it last — which he is able to do! Girls, getting roots away from the scalp gives your hair body and the ability to look good for days Thank you Nick I made another appointment with him on the day I was leaving and now that I am home I am dreading going to my stylists here in Seattle who will wash this style away(it still looks really great after 3 days) No tweaking in the morning at all, just right out of bed and it looks great. I will be back soon Nick… count on it :-) I know he travels a lot doing his QVC thing so if you want him to do your hair best call as far in advance as possible.

Martha took my hair from drab to stunning. I understand she may be retiring soon and that’s a shame for us because she is so talented. I appreciate Nicks sincere friendliness and the warm welcome. As a visitor in Beverly Hills I was made to feel comfortable and at ease knowing that true professionals were styling my hair. Nick Chavez Salon is now my favorite salon in California. Can’t wait to come back.

Debby Kaplan has been coloring my hair for over a decade, so when she moved to Nick Chavez Salon several years ago, I moved with her. I’m so glad she made the move. Everyone here is so kind and friendly. Nick himself is super supportive of all his stylists, creating a positive environment for stylists and clients alike. Plenty of free parking in the neighborhood is a bonus!

Stylists Michael Scott and Victor Fong are the best. Michael has done my hair(or at least whats left of it) for years. I highly recommend these guys. They are great.

Ladi is the best of the best. I have fine, curly, middle eastern hair and he cuts and blows it out perfectly. It’s so hard to find someone who can handle my hair. He’s also super nice — highly recommend.

Nick Chavez does my moms hair and has been doing so for the last year or so. He does a great job each time, the first time better than the second but I guess that’s only because she set her standards way up in the sky the second time! Anyway what I really love about Nick is that he is a very personable guy! You can talk to him about anything and everything. We take little cigarette breaks in between. He does a much better job than Lukaro salon which my mom went to before and he charges $ 150 for a cut which is awesome for other top salons in the area.

The salon itself is very nice, lots of marble and gilded mirrors and all that-very old hollywood hoity-toity feeling. I was new to LA about 1 yr ago and a co-worker with great hair told me her sylist was Shula at Nick Chavez salon. I’m REALLY nuts about my hair, it’s thick and wavy and I have had plenty of experiences at expensive salons elsewhere that left me with a fuzzy mullet and hole in my wallet. SHULAISAWESOME. EVERY hair cut she has given me has been great. i don’t usually have a clear idea of what i want(i’m just not good at that stuff) when i go in and she makes awesome suggestions that always look amazing. i have NEVER had so many compliments on my hair before. initially i was only getting cuts, but in the last 6 months i’ve been getting my hair colored there as well. she’s phenomenal. i brought her a picture of really subtle highlights that i liked(on Jessica Alba) and she matched it EXACTLY. it looks AWESOME. Additionally, the thing that stands out the MOST is her personality. Shula is one of the nicest people– not stylists, people– that i have ever met. She is FUNNY, smart, beautiful and SOOOOO down to earth and sweet, she’s great to chat with and never forceful if you just want to sit there and enjoy someone brushing your hair :). I’ve joked to other people that i would make appointments to go hang out with her even if she shaved me bald. it’s just a bonus that i always leave there looking hot. Once, i wanted my hair to be more sexy and stylized and she gave me a great cut with more layers then i had before. it looked great and i loved it, but when i tried to style it myself(like a SPAZ) i looked like a groupie for White Snake. I called her just to ask for al little advice/guidence and instead she had me come in for a tutorial on how to style it. she had me show her what i was doing and then taught me how to style it the way she had. she spent 40 minutes showing me how to achieve the look FORNOCHARGE! and she fit me in the day i calld on a busy Saturday. she’s wonderful. i can’t say enough great stuff about her. i have paid twice as much for haircuts and color and have NEVER been this happy or had people compliment my hair this much. she REALLY pays attention to what you’re saying, even if you sound stupid. :) i’ve told her at my first visit«i’m 26 and i have soccer mom hair!» and even though i had no idea what i wanted, she smiled and gave me young, fun, beautiful hair and i left her chair feeling prettier than i ever have. Call and ask for her prices if you are worried about the expense– i think all the stylists charge their own rates and hers are much more reasonable than some of the others there. PS-i have sent 5 different friends and co-workers to her and they ALL report the exact same wonderful experience. and they all have awesome hair(even one crazy chick with a lion-king status fro before, she’s super hot now and loves it). they are all Shula devotees now.

I have been going to Takashi for 4 years and I have been happy with every single haircut. He is very meticulous and executes exactly what his clients ask for. Best of all, his haircuts tend to last a long time and don’t lose their shape, so it’s definitely worth the price. Next time you’re at Nick Chavez, make sure to ask for Takashi!

I went to Lauren here, and she was really good. However, I am a poor student and cannot afford to go to her everytime I need a haircut. The prices are pretty high($ 100 for a haircut) and is a bit too far into LA for me. But the salon seems to do well and apparently a lot of stars go there. It’s worth a shot if you have the money to do so.

My only fear of writing this review is that my new stylist’s schedule will fill up and it will be difficult to get in to see him. However, if you’re thinking of trying someone new you may want to check out La Doux at Nick Chavez. I saw him for the first time a few weeks ago. We talked briefly about my hair, what I had done to it in the past, what I wanted and that was about it. La Doux worked his magic and I left feeling absolutely amazing! He’s real nice and completely down to earth. He knows how to cut hair, color, highlight — I got the works and was 100% satisfied. As if that wasn’t enough… his prices are very fair and reasonable too. It was completely worth the experience and I would be surprised to learn that anyone has left his chair feeling anything less than amazing. He rocks!
