Sumen Anita MD

It’s hard to find a very caring doctor now days. She is THE most empathetic and knowledgable doctor I know.
She delivered my son 6 years ago and it’s easy to rave and go on and on when someone helps you deliver one of the most important and precious gifts you’ll ever have but my delivery like for many was complicated and she was my hero thru it all.
Since then I suffer from many ailments and I know that I can always count on her to guide me even if it is not in her area of expertise.
Bottom line is she listens and she cares. I owe her many many thanks for so many reasons.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sumen’s for 3 years now – and I see her at The Beverly Hills Group of Women office on Wilshire. She was referred to me by a friend and I was instantly at ease with her. Just as the other reviewer said, she is caring, compassionate and very capable. She is to the point, but never makes you feel hurried – she takes time to answer any questions you may have. I’ve even found myself in tears in front of her (related to a personal matter), and despite my own embarrassment at getting emotional … she was unbelievably kind and considerate in response.
If you are freaked out by gyno exams, extremely modest or just super sensitive – she’s an excellent doctor to see. She’s motherly and sharp – two qualities I find comforting in a gyno. I’m grateful to have a doctor I feel so confident in and comfortable with. I know that if I ever have children I will want this woman delivering them! Can’t recommend her enough.

Caring, compassionate, capable. Dr. Sumen is straight to the point, no bullshit, but she doesn’t rush you, either. I had an amazing pregnancy, labor and delivery of my second child with her. And it wasn’t the «easiest,» if you know what I mean. It was a night-​and-​day experience over my first L&D with another doctor. She is a saint. If you’re looking for a solid OB/​GYN, I’d highly recommend her practice.
Update: I still love Dr. Sumen and would never leave her practice. However, I have had a really difficult time with the front-​desk staff in the Manhattan Beach office. I don’t like how my chart gets shuffled between the BH and MB offices, even though I’m only seen in the MB office. The front desk staff makes it really hard to schedule procedures and they seem sort of uninterested in making sure things are followed through. Their disorganization makes her practice lose a star… :(
