I love this place for Korean Barbque. I have been here many times and never disappointed with their food. I also liked their sister restaurant Bann in Korean Town. I liked the ambiance, too. It is very spacious; and the tables are not crowded like typical Korean restaurant in Korean town. We were torn between eating at Boss Sushi or Woo Lae Oak for lunch. I came here with 3 other friends for lunch and we have: Meat– 3 orders of Bul Go Gi(rib-eye beef) and 1 order of the squid. We ate this with the green lettuce wrap and miso paste… yummy!!! All were delicious!!! Sides– Chap Jae, also delicious, but portion is small All this come with Banchan(small plates of thinly slices of white radish, kimchi, soy bean sprouts) I am getting hungry as I am writing! I am craving for rib eye beef: p

Korean BBQ in a non-Korean BBQ setting. The restaurant is gorgeous. This is Korean BBQ for non-Koreans. I’ve been a few times with family but more than a decade ago. It’s changed =D We had an order of short-ribs(kalbi) and rib-eye(so gum gui). I found the meat lacking in quantity but my grandma said it looked normal to her. Who knows, maybe I was just hungry. For a restaurant that was at less than 50% capacity, service was unsatisfactory. If you want more side dishes, you have to flag someone down. Our waiter never checked back on us to see how the food was. There are too many excellent BBQ options in LA; while Woo Lae Oak isn’t bad, I rather go elsewhere.
