As a licensed construction supervisor, I hired Andy for a large renovation on my home. Price seemed fair. BUT… I quickly found him seriously lacking knowledge in sound construction practices, and demonstrating an unwillingness to learn.
In the first week, had water damage to the ENTIRE second floor ceiling of my home.
One of his guys put a foot through my ceiling, and he never properly repaired it.
He ignored just about EVERY safety practice required by OSHA.
They started out eager. But months went by, and he kept swapping out one set of workers for another, so knowledge of the project was getting lost. Gradually they just… stopped showing up. Progress ground to a halt. I gave him countless chances to course-​correct. I had no choice but to fire him.
THEN came the legal notices: He had not been paying his lumberyard for building supplies. So the lumberyard slapped a LIEN on my house. Hired a lawyer. Took a long time to get the lien removed.
I notified the Beverly Building Inspector’s Office that I’d be the new construction supervisor of record. Their literal response to me? «This guy? Another one?» They had apparently been all too aware of other complaints.
I can’t believe Andy is still trying to run a business. My advice? Do your research with building inspectors. Search for legal cases against him. Ask Timberline Lumber if he pays for his materials.
Please heed this warning — it’s not worth the risk. My project was the laughing stock of my neighborhood. I was the only one not laughing.

I hired northwind builders to put an addition on my house in MA. The craftsmanship and adaptability of Andrew and his workers was very pleasant and convenient. No job is too big or too small for them and they made my hectic construction site a comfortable environment. I would hire them again and urge anyone else with a upcoming job to give them a call!
