Big Bay Point Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast

What can I say — we LOVED this place, and wished that we had booked a longer stay. We were in the Keeper Dufrain room and it was spacious and light-​filled with comfortable furnishings. It’s wonderful to be able to open the window and hear Lake Superior and feel the fresh breeze. There’s a fireplace for extra warmth and coziness — I could imagine spending a couple of wonderful winter nights here.
What really makes this place special, aside from it’s amazing location, is how welcoming the innkeepers and staff are! We were greeted and given a brief tour of the inn and common areas, including the library with its access to the lighthouse tower. Everywhere you turned, there were thoughtful touches — from the coffeemaker in the room, to a Keurig and cookies in the dining area, a fridge for guest usage, and some small candies on the nightstand!
There is a beautiful common area on the main floor where there are comfortable seating areas and plenty of things to read. If you want to watch a movie, up the second floor to the library. I preferred to climb up the lighthouse staircase and enjoy the amazing sunset and star gazing from the lighthouse. If you look to the west, you can see the Huron Mountains.
There are beautiful grounds, with a charming gazebo. We didn’t have time to explore the property, but there are plenty of places to explore. The inn also offers a sauna, and massage services, but again, we didn’t have enough time to enjoy it all.
I am hoping that we will have another opportunity to stay here again — in every season!

Great breakfast family style setting. Site has interesting history. Spectacular view of Lake Superior but access to Lake is limited. Access to lighthouse is a bonus. Inside was tastefully decorated with nautical theme. Interior beautifully restored. Check in after 4 o clock inconvenient. Clean.
